"Tesis ini membahas pengaruh aspek-aspek iklan display dan pencarian kata kunci pada e-commerce Shopee Indonesia dan Tokopedia terhadap intention to purchase (niat pembelian konsumen). Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan konsep-konsep Theory of Reasoned Action (TRA) dan Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB). Dari 595 responden penelitian yang diuji dengan analisis jalur menyiratkan adanya pengaruh perceived informativeness, perceived entertainment, dan perceived credibility terhadap perceived ad value. Perceived ad value, perceived entertainment, perceived credibility, dan perceived interactivity secara bersama-sama berpengaruh positif terhadap attitude towards ads. Di sisi lain, attitude towards ads, perceived ease of use, dan subjective norms memiliki pengaruh positif terhadap intention to purchase.

This thesis examines the impact of display and search advertising aspects on the e-commerce platforms of Shopee Indonesia and Tokopedia on consumers' intention to purchase. The research employs a quantitative approach based on the concepts of the Theory of Reasoned Action (TRA) and Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB). Among the 595 research respondents analyzed through path analysis, the results suggest that perceived informativeness, perceived entertainment, and perceived credibility influence perceived ad value. Collectively, perceived ad value, perceived entertainment, perceived credibility, and perceived interactivity positively impact the attitude towards ads. Conversely, attitude towards ads, perceived ease of use, and subjective norms positively influence the intention to purchase."

"Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mempelajari pengaruh dari brand association yang spesifik pada asosiasi gender (specific gender association) dalam sebuah iklan, serta pengaruh kongruensi antara iklan dengan media kepada sikap terhadap iklan, sikap terhadap merek, dan minat membeli partisipan. Untuk dapat meneliti pengaruh specific gender association dan kongruensi tersebut maka dalam penelitian ini digunakan desain eksperimen faktorial 2 (Non-specific Gender Association/Specific Gender Association) x 2 (Congruent / Incongruent). Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa pria pada kondisi kongruen lebih menyukai iklan yang memiliki specific gender association dengan pria dibandingkan iklan non-specific gender association.

Research is aimed to study the influence of brand association that specify on association of gender in an advertisement, and the influence of congruence between advertising and the media over the attitude toward the advertising, attitude toward the brand, and purchase intention of the participants. To be able to examine the influence of specific gender association and congruence in this study used a factorial experimental design 2 (Non-specific Gender Association/Specific Gender Association) x 2 (Congruent / Incongruent). The results of this research show that the male on the condition of congruent prefer ads that have specific gender association with men than non-gender specific ad association. "

"Body shaming telah menjadi kebiasaan masyarakat yang dapat terjadi secara langsung maupun di dunia maya. Media menjadi salah satu sumber terciptanya body shaming, karena media menciptakan standar tubuh “ideal” pada masyarakat. Kurangnya kesadaran masyarakat mengenai body shaming menjadi alasan mengapa isu ini sering terjadi di Indonesia. Maka, dibutuhkanlah iklan sosial dengan pendekatan. Pendekatan iklan yang paling umum digunakan adalah pendekatan sumber pesan dengan rational appeal (A1) dan emotional appeal (A2), serta benefit appeal dengan self-benefit appeal (B1) dan other-benefit appeal (B2). Masih sangat minim data dari penelitian terdahulu mengenai pendekatan iklan pada isu sosial body shaming. Penelitian ini meyoroti bagaimana interaksi pendekatan-pendekatan tersebut mempengaruhi keefektifan iklan dengan sikap khalayak terhadap iklan (Y). Penelitian ini menggunakan metode eksperimen dengan desain faktorial 2x2 dengan perlakuan iklan Grup 1 (A1 B1), Grup 2 (A1 B2), Grup 3 (A2 B1), dan Grup 4 (A2 B2) yang dinilai menggunakan kuesioner yang diisi 120 responden. Hasil yang didapatkan menggunakan analisis two-way ANOVA menunjukkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh pendekatan sumber pesan (X1) terhadap sikap khalayak terhadap iklan, terdapat juga pengaruh benefit appeal (X2) terhadap sikap khalayak terhadap iklan, dan terdapat pengaruh interaksi pendekatan sumber pesan dengan benefit appeal terhadap sikap khalayak terhadap iklan. Dengan nilai mean paling tinggi adalah pada iklan Grup 4, iklan dengan emotional appeal dan other-benefit appeal.

Body shaming has become a habit for society that can happen in person or online. Media is one of cause of body shaming, for it creates “ideal” body standards in society. Lack of public awareness is one of the reasons why this issue often occurs in Indonesia. Therefore, social advertisement with appeal is needed. The most commonly used appeals are the message appeal with rational appeal (A1) and emotional appeal (A2), as well as benefit appeal with self-benefit appeal (B1) and other-benefit appeal (B2). There is still very little data from previous study regarding advertising appeal for social issue. This research highlights how the interaction of these appeals impacts the effectiveness of advertisements, using attitude towards the ads (Y). This research uses experimental method with 2x2 factorial design with Group 1 (A1 B1), Group 2 (A1 B2), Group 3 (A2 B1), and Group 4 (A2 B2) advertisements, assessed with questionnaires distributed to 120 respondents. The results obtained using two-way ANOVA analysis, shows that there is an effect of the message appeal (X1) on the audience’s attitude towards the advertisement (Y), there is also an effect of benefit appeal (X2) on the audience’s attitude towards the advertisement (Y), an there is an effect of the interaction of message appeal with benefit appeal on the audience’s attitude towards the advertisement. The highest mean value is Group 4, advertisement with emotional appeal and other-benefit appeal."

"Banyaknya trend yang muncul akibat kemajuan teknologi internet dan media sosial memberikan dampak terhadap perubahan gaya hidup. Oleh karena itu pemasar perlu memperhatikan strategi dan media yang digunakan dalam memasarkan produknya. Instagram banyak digunakan sebagai alat pemasar online yang efektif. Fitur pada Instagram memampukan pemasaran untuk melakukan electronic word of mouth. Electronic word of mouth merupakan proses berbagi, merekomendasikan, atau memberikan ulasan tentang produk, layanan, atau merek melalui platform digital. eWOM dapat dibagi dari berbagai sumber seperti eWOM dari endorsement, customer dan brand. Penelitian ini fokus pada pengaruh electronic word of mouth dari endorsement, customer, dan brand terhadap minat beli pada produk katering sehat Less Salt Diet, baik secara langsung maupun menggunakan mediator brand trust. Teknik pengambilan sampel yang digunakan adalah sampel non-probabilitas sebanyak 400 responden sesuai dengan rumus Slovin. Hasilnya adalah eWOM dari endorsement dan customer memiliki pengaruh langsung dan tidak langsung terhadap minat beli. Sedangkan eWOM dari brand memiliki pengaruh tidak langsung melalui brand trust terhadap minat beli namun tidak memiliki pengaruh langsung terhadap minat beli.

The emergence of various trends due to the advancement of internet technology and social media has significantly impacted lifestyle changes. Consequently, marketers need to carefully consider their strategies and media used to promote their products. Instagram has become a widely used platform for effective online marketing. Its features enable marketers to engage in electronic word of mouth (eWOM), which involves sharing, recommending, or reviewing products, services, or brands through digital platforms. eWOM can stem from different sources, such as endorsements, customers, and brands. This study focuses on the influence of eWOM from endorsements, customers, and brands on purchase intentions for the healthy catering product "Less Salt Diet." Additionally, it examines both direct and indirect effects using brand trust as a mediator. The sample for this research consists of 400 respondents, selected through a non-probability sampling technique, based on the Slovin formula. The findings suggest that eWOM from endorsements and customers has both direct and indirect effects on purchase intentions. On the other hand, eWOM from the brand has only an indirect influence on purchase intentions through brand trust and does not directly affect purchase intentions.

"Media sosial membuka peluang perusahan dan konsumen untuk saling terhubung melalui pertukaran informasi dan komunikasi di media sosial. Salah satu industri digital yang berkembang cepat saat ini adalah e-commerce dan di dalamnya termasuk fitur pembayaran. Pay later adalah fitur pembayaran yang berkembang paling pesat, sehingga niat penggunaan fitur ini menjadi menarik untuk diteliti. Penelitian ini menggabungkan sikap, norma subjektif, perceived behavior control, dan penggunaan media sosial untuk melihat pengaruhnya terhadap niat penggunaan fitur pembayaran e-commerce pay later. Penelitian kuantitatif ini mendapatkan 129 responden dari hasil penyebaran kuesioner secara online. Dari keempat hipotesis yang diajukan, ditemukan bahwa sikap, norma subjektif, perceived behavior control, dan penggunaan media sosial memiliki pengaruh yang signifikan dan positif terhadap niat penggunaan fitur pembayaran e-commerce pay later. Penelitian ini menunjukkan bagaimana TPB dan penggunaan media sosial dapat digunakan untuk mengukur niat penggunaan teknologi non komunikasi seperti pay later. Faktor-faktor ini berperan penting dan perlu dipertimbangkan bagi perusahaan dalam strategi meningkatkan niat penggunakan sebuah teknologi.

Social media opens up opportunities for companies and consumers to connect with each other through exchanging information and communication on social media. One of the digital industries that is developing rapidly at the moment is e-commerce, including its payment features. Pay later is the fastest growing payment feature, therefore the intention to use this feature is interesting to study. This research combines attitudes, subjective norms, perceived behavior control and social media use to see their influence on intentions to use the e-commerce pay later payment feature. This quantitative research obtained 129 respondents from distributing questionnaires online. Of the four hypotheses proposed, it was found that attitudes, subjective norms, perceived behavior control, and social media use have a significant and positive influence on the intention to use the e-commerce pay later payment feature. This research shows how TPB and social media use can be used to measure intentions to use non-communication technologies such as pay later. These communication factors play an important role and need to be considered by companies in their strategy to increase their intention to use technology."

"Perkembangan influencer social media saat ini sangat lah pesat. Potensi pajak dari kegiatan endorsement yang dilakukan oleh influencer juga sangat besar, maka dibutuhkan pengawasan yang tepat untuk mengawasi kegiatan endorsement yang dilakukan influencer social media. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode post-posivist, disusun berdasarkan penelitian menggunakan pendektan kualitatif pengumpulan data untuk keperluan analisis diperoleh melalui penelitian dokumen, studi kepustakaan dan wawancara dengan pihak terkait. Hasil Penelitian menyatakan pengawasan PPh atas kegiatan endorsement di Indonesia masih bersifat manual dan dipersamakan dengan pengawasan WP OP. Hambatan yang bersumber dari WP, Infrastruktur, dan Peraturan membuat Pengawasan tidak berjalan dengan optimal. Oleh karena itu DJP diharapkan dapat memperluas basis data influencer social media dan juga membuat ketentuan perpajakan dan juga pengawasan atas kegiatan endorsement.
.....The development of social media influencers is currently very fast. The potential tax from endorsement activities carried out by influencers is also very large, so proper supervision is needed to oversee endorsement activities carried out by social media influencers. This study uses a post-posivist method, compiled based on research using a qualitative approach to data collection for the purposes of analysis obtained through document research, literature study and interviews with related parties. The results of the study stated that the supervision of income tax on endorsement activities in Indonesia was still manual and equated with the supervision of WP OP. Obstacle originating from WP, Infrastructure, and Regulations make Supervision not run optimally. Therefore, DGT is expected to expand the database of social media influencers and also make tax provisions as well as oversight of endorsement activities."

Dalam sebuah industri dimana persamaan terjadi dalam proses bisnis mendasar, kurangnya diferensiasi antara satu perusahaan dan perusahaan lainnya merupakan salah satu masalah yang harus dipecahkan. Dengan demikian, sebuah alat promosi dibutuhkan untuk membedakan dan memberikan keunggulan kompetitif bagi satu perusahaan atas perusahaan lainnya. Salah satu cara yang digunakan oleh perusahaan diwujudkan dalam bentuk iklan, khususnya menghabiskan miliaran rupiah dalam penggunaan selebriti untuk mendukung merek mereka yang didasari oleh fakta yang mengatakan bahwa sumber informasi yang efektif sangat penting untuk mencapai pesan komunikasi yang persuasif. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menguji hubungan kausal antara endorser credibility, brand attitude, brand credibility, dan purchase intention terhadap perusahaan e-commerce platform yang menggunakan celebrity endorsement sebagai strategi promosi mereka. Dalam melakukan hal tersebut, penulis menggunakan model penelitian yang didasari oleh teori source credibility dan teori product differentiation guna mengeksplorasi hubungan yang telah disebutkan sebelumnya. Penelitian ini diuji kepada 520 responden dari survei yang dilakukan di Indonesia dan data dianalisis menggunakan Structural Equation Modeling, dimana endorser credibility diuji sebagai second-order construct dari model yang diajukan. Hasil penemuan dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa preferensi konsumen pada endorser credibility secara positif mempengaruhi brand attitude and brand credibility, dimana variabel brand credibility memiliki dampak positif pada purchase intention.


In an industry where similarity in the basic business process leads to a lack of differentiation, a tool of promotion is needed to distinguish and provide a competitive edge for one firm over the other. One tool used by firms is manifested in the form of advertisement, spending billions of rupiah in signing sought after celebrities to endorse their brands due to the fact that an effective source is crucial in attaining a persuasive communication message. The purpose of this study is to examine the causal relationship between endorser credibility, brand attitude, brand credibility and purchase intention of electronic commerce platforms that adopt a strategy of employing celebrities in endorsing their brand. In doing so, a research model based on source credibility theory and product differentiation theory was used in exploring the aforementioned relationship. The research was tested using 520 responses from a survey conducted in Indonesia and the data was analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling, with endorser credibility being tested as a second-order construct of the proposed model. The findings of this research indicated that consumers preference endorser credibility positively influences both brand attitude and brand credibility, with only the latter having a positive impact on purchase intention.

"Meningkatnya penggunaan aplikasi pada telepon genggam mengiringi perkembangan zaman yang serba digital. Hal ini merubah cara hidup orang-orang sekaligus mendorong perkembangan atas inovasi dari beragam aplikasi, yang kemudian menciptakan kompetisi bagi para developer aplikasi untuk melakukan inovasi atas teknologi baru. Snapchat merupakan salah satu bentuk inovasi yang muncul dengan konsep ephemeral social media, di mana konten yang dibagikan pada Snapchat akan menghilang dalam kurun waktu tertentu sesaat setelah penerima konten membukanya. Berbicara mengenai pengadopsian teknologi baru tidak terlepas dari konsep Technology Acceptance Model TAM dalam menentukan perilaku penggunaan behavioral intention seseorang atas teknologi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat variabel-variabel atas TAM, yakni perceived usefulness dan perceived ease of use serta privacy concern sebagai faktor moderasi berpengaruh terhadap behavioral intention seseorang atas aplikasi Snapchat. Sampel penelitian ini adalah pengguna aktif Snapchat minimal tiga bulan yang berusia 18 hingga 25 tahun. Data kemudian diolah menggunakan Structural Equation Modelling. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perceived ease of use memiliki pengaruh positif terhadap perceived usefulness dan behavioral intention atas aplikasi Snapchat. Di sisi lain, perceived usefulness tidak berpengaruh terhadap behavioral intention seseorang atas Snapchat. Hasil penelitian juga menunjukkan bahwa adanya privacy concern sebagai faktor moderasi tidak meningkatkan pengaruh perceived ease of use dan perceived usefulness terhadap behavioral intention seseorang atas aplikasi Snapchat.

The number of mobile apps user is increasing as the digital age is developing as well. This phenomenon changes the way people live their life and also encourages the development of innovation in various mobile apps that further creates competition among apps developers. Snapchat is one of many forms of new technology innovation with its ephemeral social media concept, which its content will disappear within a certain time as soon as the receiver sees it. Speaking of new technology adoption cannot be separated from the concept of the Technology Acceptance Model TAM in determining people rsquo s behavioral intention towards the technology. This study aims to examine TAM rsquo s variables, perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use, and also privacy concern as the moderating factor that have significant effect towards people rsquo s behavioral intention in using Snapchat app. The data for this study was collected from Snapchat rsquo s active users who had been using Snapchat for the past three months or more with range of 18 to 25 years old. Data then were analyzed by using Structural Equation Modelling. The result of this study showed that perceived ease of use has positive effect on perceived usefulness and people rsquo s behavioral intention in using Snapchat. However, this study showed that perceived usefulness doesn 39 t have positive effect on people rsquo s behavioral intention in using Snapchat. This study also showed that privacy concern as moderating factor doesn 39 t increase the effect of perceived ease of use and perceived usefulness on people rsquo s behavioral intention in using Snapchat. "

"Dalam ranah bisnis, emotikon sering dimanfaatkan oleh para penjual ketika berinteraksi dengan konsumen. Penelitian sebelumnya menyebutkan bahwa penggunaan emotikon memiliki efek terhadap intensi membeli seorang konsumen, tetapi efek tersebut tergolong lemah. Hal tersebut mengindikasikan adanya variabel yang memediasi hubungan antara keduanya. Studi ini meneliti penggunaan emotikon dan dampaknya terhadap intensi membeli konsumen melalui mediator persepsi kompetensi. Variabel persepsi kompetensi sendiri pada penelitian-penelitian sebelumnya terbukti memiliki hubungan dengan intensi membeli dari konsumen. Studi ini dilakukan pada individu yang pernah melakukan transaksi belanja online melalui chat commerce di Indonesia. Secara total didapatkan 200 partisipan berusia 18-34 tahun yang mengisi kuesioner penelitian melalui survei online. Analisis pada studi ini dilakukan dengan statistical test berupa means: difference between two dependent means karena desain penelitian yang dipakai adalah within-subject design. Hasil pengolahan data menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan emotikon memiliki dampak yang signifikan terhadap persepsi kompetensi maupun intensi membeli. Sementara penelitian ini juga mendapati bahwa variabel persepsi kompetensi berperan sebagai mediator dalam hubungan penggunaan emotikon dan intensi membeli secara parsial.

In the business world, sellers often use emoticons when interacting with consumers. Previous research found that using emoticons affected a consumer's purchase intention, but this effect is relatively weak. It indicates that there are variables that mediate the relationship. This study examines the use of emoticons and their impact on consumers' purchase intentions through a mediator of perceived competence. The variable perceived competence itself in previous studies has been proven to be able to trigger the purchase intentions from consumers. This study was conducted on individuals who have made online shopping transactions through chat commerce in Indonesia. In total, there were 200 participants aged 18-34 years old who filled out research questionnaires through online surveys. The analysis in this study uses a statistical test through means: the difference between two dependent means because the research design used was a within-subject design. The data processing results indicate that the use of emoticons significantly impacts the perceived competence and purchase intention. Meanwhile, this study also found that the perceived competence variable partially mediated the relationship between emoticon use and purchase intention"

"Tersedianya e-commerce sebagai sarana belanja secara online untuk konsumen dapat memudahkan belanja produk dengan melihat ulasan produk tersebut dan juga respon penjual terhadap ulasan tersebut. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk melihat peran negative reviews dan managerial responses atau respon penjual terhadap purchase intention. Disamping itu, juga akan dilihat korelasi antara tipe negative review dengan purchase intention. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian eksperimental yang menggunakan data dari 260 partisipan yang memiliki rentang umur 17-64 tahun. Stimulus yang digunakan merupakan script menyerupai tampilan halaman produk di e- commerce beserta dengan enam ulasan negatif dan juga respon penjualnya. Alat ukur purchase intention diadaptasi dari alat ukur Lafferty dan Goldsmith. (1999), dan alat ukur negative review impression diadaptasi dari Purnawirawan et al. (2012) serta alat ukur negative review diagnosticity diadaptasi dari Huang et al. (2013); Jiang dan Benbasat (2004). Hasil one way ANOVA menunjukkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan mean dari purchase intention pada variasi response rate dan response relevance dengan mean tertinggi pada kelompok negative review dengan varian high response rate dan high response relevance. Disamping itu hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat hubungan yang signifikan antara negative reviews pada suatu produk dan purchase intention calon konsumen di e-commerce dengan korelasi yang lebih besar pada negative review impression. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa pihak penjual dapat mempertimbangkan untuk memilih pendekatan managerial responses dengan tingkat respon dan relevansi yang tinggi. Hasil penelitian ini mengimplikasikan bahwa pemilihan strategi interaksi penjual dengan konsumen dapat memengaruhi tingkat penjualan di masa depan. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, negative reviews dan managerial responses memiliki pengaruh terhadap purchase intention.

The availability of e-commerce as a means of online shopping for consumers can facilitate buying products by looking at product reviews and also the seller's response to these reviews. The purpose of this study was to see the role of negative reviews and managerial responses or seller responses to these negative reviews that could affect the purchase intention of potential consumers. Besides that, it will also look at the correlation between the type of negative review and purchase intention. This study is an experimental study using data from 260 participants who have an age range of 17-64 years. The stimulus in this experiment is a script that resembles the appearance of a product page in e-commerce along with six negative reviews and also the seller's response. The purchase intention measurement tool was adapted from the Lafferty and Goldsmith measuring instrument. (1999), and the negative review impression measurement tool was adapted from Purnawirawan et al. (2012) as well as a negative review diagnosticity measurement tool adapted from Huang et al. (2013); Jiang and Benbasat (2004). The results of one-way ANOVA show that there is a difference in the mean of purchase intention in the variation of response rate and response relevance with the highest mean in the negative review group with variants of high response rate and high response relevance. Besides, the results of the study show that there is a significant relationship between negative reviews on a product and the purchase intention of prospective consumers in e-commerce with a greater correlation on negative review impressions. The results of this study imply that the selection of a seller-consumer interaction strategy can affect the level of sales in the future. It can be concluded that the seller can consider choosing a managerial responses approach with a high response rate and relevance. The results of this study imply that the selection of a seller's interaction strategy with consumers can affect the level of sales in the future. Based on the research results, negative reviews and managerial responses have an influence on purchase intention."
