"East Java Province in Indonesia is the centre of the eastern Indonesia region and it has a fairly high economic significance, which has contributed 14.85% to the national Gross Domestic Product (GDP). The role of Large and Medium Scale Manufacturing Industry (LMSMI) clusters in this province is very important and strategic as one of the main drivers for economic progress and it becomes a part of the efforts to improve the society's life. Therefore, it is necessary to evaluate the performance of LMSMI clusters continuously. The purpose of this study is to investigate the productivity changes of LMSMI clusters in East Java Province, Indonesia, so that they will be able to survive, grow and compete in facing global competition. The method used in this study is the method of DEA-based Malmquist Productivity Index. The result of this study indicates that 50% of the LMSMI clusters in East Java Province are in the category of improved productivity, while the remaining clusters are in the category of declining productivity."

"Pekerja shift merupakan salah satu aggregat yang berisiko mengalami masalah kesehatan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendapatkan arti dan makna pengalaman bekerja shift pekerja manufaktur. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif fenomenologi deskriptif dengan metode wawancara mendalam. Partisipan dalam penelitian ini adalah pekerja shift di perusahaan manufaktur di DKI Jakarta berjumlah 6 (enam) orang yang didapatkan dengan teknik purposive sampling. Data yang dikumpulkan berupa hasil rekaman wawancara yang dianalisis dengan teknik Collaizi. Penelitian ini mengidentifikasi tujuh tema yaitu alasan bekerja shift, mengenali karakteristik setiap shift, dampak yang dialami pekerja, upaya mempertahankan status kesehatan, mendapat dukungan, manajemen waktu pekerja shift dan harapan pekerja shift. Hasil temuan ini merekomendasikan kepada institusi kerja utuk mempertimbangkan pengaturan jam kerja untuk meminimalisasi dampak kerja shift pada pekerja.

Shift worker is one of the aggregate who risk of having health problems. This research aims were explored the experience of working shift by manufacturing workers. This research used qualitative descriptive phenomenology method and data collected by in-depth interviews. Participants in this research is shift workers at a manufacturing company in Jakarta totaled 6 (six) people who obtained by purposive sampling technique. The data gathered are in form of the result from recording of the interview and analyzed by Collaizi techniques.

This research identified seven themes: the reasons of work shift, knowing the characteristics of each shift, impact of shift work, the efforts of maintaining health status, getting support, doing time management and shift workers expectations. The results recommend to company to consider working time to minimize the impact of shift work on workers."
