"Kebahagiaan menurut ekonomi sering kali dibatasi ketat secara kuantitatif, yaitu terbatas dalam pendapatan. Oleh karena itu, studi ekonomi kebahagiaan berupaya untuk menggunakan indikator pengukuran lain untuk melengkapi ukuran kesejahteraan yang lebih luas. Penelitian ini menjadikan kejahatan sebagai indikator baru pengukuran kebahagiaan dengan menggunakan sampel perdesaan dan perkotaan. Studi ini bertujuan untuk melihat hubungan antara kebahagiaan dan kejahatan di tingkat perdesaan dan perkotaan. Hasil studi membuktikan bahwa kejahatan benar mempengaruhi kebahagiaan seseorang. Berdasarkan sampel yang digunakan, tindak kejahatan memang lebih sering terjadi di perdesaan, namun tingkat kejahatan di perkotaan tetap lebih tinggi dibandingkan perdesaan.

Happiness in economics is often strictly limited in quantitative terms, i.e. limited to income. Therefore, economic studies of happiness seek to use other measurement indicators to complement broader measures of well-being. This study uses crime as a new measurements indicator of happiness using rural and urban samples. The study aims to examine the relationship between happiness and crime at the rural and urban levels.
