"This research is an attempt to delve into understanding the process of creative imagination of the sacred which is revealed in the intertwining of culture and nature in Geriana Kauh, Karangasem, Bali. This study aims to investigate the relationship between the individual, the social and ecology, as well as the transformation of individual consciousness into a collective awareness sharing a communal reality. This qualitative research is developed by incorporating theoretical analysis and formulating field data collected in the traditional Village of Geriana Kauh, as the villagers resort to their cultural resources to deal with the cosmological imbalances caused by pandemics. By means of a phenomenological examination, this investigation underlines the dynamic interlocking of the cultural and the natural worlds."

"Tesis ini membahas tentang proses pembentukan BUM Desa Segara Giri di Desa Sanur Kauh yang memiliki konteks adat yang kuat. Wilayahnya mencakup pelemahan adat Intaran ditinggali oleh komunitas adat Sanur yang sudah memiliki sistem pembangunan yang mapan. Pakraman Intaran juga sudah membentuk BUMDas Intaran sebelum BUM Desa Segara Giri terbentuk. Konteks ini menjadikan proses pembentukan BUM Desa di Sanur Kauh sangat dinamis dengan diwarnai oleh kesamaan identitas pelakunya sebagai sesama anggota komunitas adat Sanur. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa proses itu terdiri atas lima tahapan, yakni musyawarah desa, sungkem pada otoritas adat, kesepakatan pembagian bidang usaha, implementasi usaha dan pembagian keuntungan. Analisis temuan penelitian mengungkap bahwa proses ini merupakan proses pembangunan lokal yang didasari oleh nilai lokal yang dimiliki oleh anggota komunitas. Meskipun BUM Desa merupakan konsep pembangunan nasional, namun pelaku pembangunan di level desa yang semuanya merupakan bagian dari komunitas adat Sanur menerjemahkannya dalam nilai-nilai adat setempat yang berdasarkan pada tri hita karana. Hal ini juga mengindikasikan adanya kesamaan identitas pelaku pembangunan yang membuat dualisme berjalan dengan baik di Desa Sanur Kauh.

Tesis discussed about development process of BUM Desa segara Giri in Sanur Kauh Village whom had strong customary context. In its territory of Sanur Kauh, locals also recognized customary village named Pakraman Intaran. Indigenous peoples of pakraman Intaran also part of customary law community of Sanur that has developed social development planning based on local values in terms of Tri Hita karana. Pakraman Intaran has already had their own BUM Desa named BUMDas Intaran 3 years before the development of BUM Desa Segara Giri started. This context of development process brought dynamics in early stages of BUM Desa Segara Giri. The results if this research concluded that the process went in five stages started in early 2016 with village forum held by Sanur Kauh Village, head of BUM Desa Segara Giri went to seek permission from customary authorities after this forum concluded that establishment of their own BUM Desa needed. Result of their meetings were an agreement to not running business on field already taken by customary authorities. This agrement adressed on business implementation of BUM Desa Segara Giri. Research also discovered of their sharing profit scheme to each authorities. These findings analyzed came to conclusion that the process of developing BUM Desa Segara Giri was part of local development held in local values with local process. Development actors of these process shared the same social identity as part of local customs. With this single identity they were conquered the threats of being divided with dualism."
