"This article examines uses of Indonesian third person singular pronouns ia and dia in news reports. It takes as its departure point the general account of the pronouns which specifies that ia can occur only in subject position, while dia can occur in subject or object position. The article shows that, although both pronouns can occur in subject position, they differ distributionally and functionally. Ia occurs almost three times as frequently as dia and predominates in subject position, while dia occurs mostly in non-subject position. Ia is primarily used to convey the notion that the referent is a reliable and authoritative source of information and to focus on the referent as an agent or protagonist who is initiating or performing some action or a series of actions. By contrast, dia tends to be selected for contexts in which the referent is presented as a speaker who is elaborating on what has been said previously rather than introducing a new point. The predominance of ia in news report accords with its characterization as a pronoun strongly associated with formal registers."

Electronic cigarettes e-cigarettes , of which the health effects are still unknown, are significantly gaining their popularity in Indonesia. A massive news release on the internet talking about e-cigarettes might contribute to robust public rsquo;s concern about the use of e-cigarettes that could influence policy makers in considering the regulation of these devices. Therefore, this study aims to analyze how online mass media frame the message of e-cigarettes based upon topics of the story, news source, and coverage of benefits and harms of these products. This study performed a content-analysis method using a variable coding sheet in four popular online news media in Indonesia. This study found 418 articles mentioning about e-cigarettes of which 320 articles 76.6 were included in the content analysis. Majority of the article 70.9 have a negative frame and mainly talked about the policy issue of these devices. The news source that was frequently used in the articles is scientist/researcher 34.7 . The studied articles mostly presented harms of e-cigarettes rather than their benefits. Thus, most of the online news media tend to present unfavourable stories about e-cigarettes and might try to influence the readers to oppose these products.

"Peristiwa - peristiwa yang melandasi naik turun hubungan Indonesia Australia telah "diberitakan" oleh media massa Indonesia dengan inteprestasi yang berbeda sesuai dengan agenda masing - masing media tersebut. Dengan menggunakan metode analisis isi, penditian ini menganalisis berita berita Australia di dua suratkabar nasional Indonesia setelah satu tahWI terpilihnya Kevin: Rudd sebagai Perdana Menteri ( November 2007 - November 2008). Di era kecanggihan dunia informasi membuat pilihan - pilihan sumber berita menjadi beragam. Tidak adanya agenda setting membuat berita berita teutang Australia hanya didasarkan pada keadaan dan isu yang ada saja. Kondisi ini memberikan kesempatan bagi pihak luar yang berkepentingan untuk dapat men-set berita sesuai kehendak dan kepentingan politik tertentu.

The events on which the fluctuations of the Indonesia-Australia ties are based have been "reported" by the Indonesian mass media with different interpretations according to the agenda of each media source. Using the content analysis method, this research analysed the Australian news in two Indonesian national newspapers a year after the electora1 win of Kevin Rudd as Prime Minister ( November 2007 - November 2008). In this modem era and with available facilities from newspapers, options fur news sources have changed and have been more diverse. The absence of an agenda setting means the news reported is only based on the existing situations and issues, and this situation provides opportunities fur concerned external parties to set and direct news towards certain political wills and interests."

"Kebutuhan akan informasi yang cepat dan valid semakin mendesak di tengah arus in- formasi yang cepat. Kemajuan teknologi memberikan dampak signi kan terhadap in- dustri jurnalisme untuk mengakomodasi kebutuhan informasi tersebut. Proses produksi berita, yang tradisionalnya memakan waktu, terus dihadapkan pada tuntutan untuk meng- hasilkan informasi dengan cepat dan akurat. Penelitian ini merespon tantangan terse- but dengan melakukan pengembangan model generatif yang dapat melakukan pembuatan berita secara otomatis. Dalam pengembangan model generatif, penulis melakukan bebe- rapa skenario percobaan untuk menguji pengaruh ukuran jumlah parameter, jenis prompt- ing, dan penggunaan delimiter pada prompt yang digunakan terhadap kualitas model yang dihasilkan. Percobaan dilakukan dengan melakukan ne tuning pada dua buah large language model yang memiliki arsitektur berbeda, yaitu Falcon dan BLOOM. Pengem- bangan large language model selanjutnya dilakukan proses evaluasi dengan menggunakan metrik measurement BLEU, ROUGE, perplexity, dan human evaluation kepada wartawan terhadap berita yang dihasilkan. Hasil yang penulis dapatkan menunjukkan bahwa terda- pat beberapa aspek yang memengaruhi kualitas berita yang dihasilkan oleh model dalam proses ne tuning. Beberapa aspek tersebut di antaranya adalah ukuran jumlah parameter, jenis prompting, dan penggunaan delimiter pada prompt yang digunakan. Model terbaik yang didapatkan dari keseluruhan model percobaan adalah BLOOM dengan jumlah pa- rameter 7B yang mendapatkan hasil evaluasi ROUGE-1 sebesar 0,3856 dan perplexity sebesar 5,79809. Model ini juga dapat menghasilkan berita yang sesuai dengan kebu- tuhan wartawan dalam proses human evaluation, baik dari kesesuaian dengan kaidah ke- bahasaan dan penulisan berita maupun ketepatan berita dengan fakta sebenarnya. Model ini mendapatkan penilaian sebesar 4,25 dari 5,00 untuk kesesuaian dengan kaidah keba- hasaan dan 4,27 dari 5,00 untuk ketepatan dengan fakta sebenarnya.

The escalating need for swift and accurate information in today's dynamic information landscape poses a significant challenge. Technological advancements have profoundly impacted the journalism industry, necessitating adaptations to fulfill evolving information requirements. The traditional, time-consuming news production process is under constant pressure to deliver information swiftly and accurately. This research tackles these challenges by developing a generative model capable of automating news creation. The author explores various experimental scenarios in the generative model development, investigating the influence of parameters' quantity, prompting techniques, and the use of delimiters in prompts on the resulting model's quality. The experiments involve fine-tuning two large language models with different architectures, Falcon and BLOOM. The subsequent evaluation process utilizes metrics such as BLEU, ROUGE, perplexity, and human evaluation by journalists to assess the quality of the generated news. The findings underscore that several factors, including parameter quantity, prompting techniques, and delimiter use, impact the news model's quality during the fine-tuning process. Significantly, among the experimented models, the BLOOM model with 7B parameters emerges as the overall best performer. This model achieves a ROUGE-1 evaluation of 0.38656 and a perplexity of 5.79809. In human evaluation, the BLOOM model excels in linguistic adherence and factual accuracy, receiving ratings of 4,25 out of 5.00 and 4,27 out of 5.00, respectively."

"ABSTRAK
Saat ini penyebaran berita bernada negatif ke media sosial sangat sering terjadi. Hal
ini dapat memunculkan persepsi bahwa berita daring negatif lebih mempengaruhi orang
lain dibandingkan diri sendiri, atau disebut Third Person Perception. Penelitian ini
bertujuan untuk melihat pengaruh media sosial Instagram yang ditampilkan bersama
dengan berita daring negatif dalam membentuk persepsi terhadap konten dan
pengaruhnya. Eksperimen dilakukan dengan memberikan partisipan (n=281) paparan
terhadap berita daring negatif yang dihadirkan dalam Instagram dan situs berita daring.
Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa berita daring negatif yang dipaparkan dalam penelitian
dirasakan lebih mempengaruhi orang lain dibandingkan diri sendiri. Selanjutnya, hasil
analisis menggunakan GLM ANOVA menunjukkan bahwa tidak terdapat pengaruh interaksi antara penyisipan berita daring negatif dengan Third Person Perception.
Membaca berita daring melalui Instagram ataupun membaca berita melalui situs berita daring tidak meningkatkan Third Person Perception."

"Sebagai tokoh politik yang berpartisipasi dalam upaya pencalonan presiden Indonesia sebanyak tiga kali, persona dan kepribadian Prabowo Subianto menjadi sorotan di setiap kesempatannya. Dalam penelitian sebelumnya menyatakan bahwa Prabowo Subianto cenderung menonjolkan kesan tegas dan berwibawa dalam kampanye pencalonan presiden di tahun 2014 dan 2019 (Qeis, 2019; Muttaqin et al., 2020; Alvin, 2019). Dalam beberapa tahun belakangan ini muncul opini baru mengenai persona Prabowo, berkaitan dengan perubahan sikap yang diasosiasikan dengan sikap yang lebih hangat. Perubahan ini terlihat dari komunikasi nonverbal yang dilakukannya dengan menunjukkan gestur sebagai penyayang hewan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana portal berita daring sebagai media baru berkontribusi dalam upaya perubahan persona Prabowo yang sebagai penyuka kucing. Menggunakan metode analisis konten, penelitian kualitatif deskriptif ini menemukan sejumlah tema dan strategi presentasi diri dari pemberitaan media Detikcom mengenai Prabowo berkaitan dengan aktivitasnya bersama kucing pada periode tahun 2018-2019. Penelitian ini berkesimpulan bahwa media Detikcom berperan sebagai media marketisasi diri Prabowo pada periode kampanye pencalonan presiden di tahun 2019 dan menjadi media yang menyebarkan narasi mengenai sisi lain Prabowo sebagai penyuka kucing.

As a political figure who participated in efforts to nominate the Indonesian president three times, Prabowo Subianto's persona and personality were in the spotlight at every opportunity. Previous research stated that Prabowo Subianto tended to convey a firm and authoritative impression in the presidential nomination campaign in 2014 and 2019 (Qeis, 2019; Muttaqin et al., 2020; Alvin, 2019). In recent years, new opinions have emerged regarding Prabowo's persona, related to a change in attitude associated with a warmer attitude. This change is seen by showing nonverbal gestures as an animal lover. This research aims to find out how online news portals as new media contribute to efforts to change Prabowo's persona as a cat person. With content analysis methods, this descriptive qualitative research found several themes and self-presentation strategies from Detikcom’s news about Prabowo relating to his activities with cats in 2018-2019. This research concludes that Detikcom played a role in Prabowo's self-marketization during the 2019 presidential candidacy campaign and became a media that spread narratives about Prabowo's other side as a cat person.
