"Tulisan ini menganalisis bagaimana series Netflix “Sex Education” sebagai salah satu bentuk media komunikasi massa menyampaikan edukasi seks ke khalayak. Konsep yang dianalisis dalam tulisan ini adalah implikasi dari lima kategori topik comprehensive sexuality education (CSE) yang diusung oleh UNFPA. Selain itu, tulisan ini juga mencari akar penyebab masalah terkait pendidikan seks yang serial ini coba atasi. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode analisis isi dengan melakukan observasi terhadap adegan dalam series sekaligus menganalisis keterkaitannya dengan konsep. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa seluruh kategori topik dalam CSE terkandung dalam series Sex Education, membuat series ini dapat menjadi sarana edukasi seks informal yang baik untuk khalayak terutama remaja. Adapun saran untuk penelitian selanjutnya yaitu dapat menggunakan teori resepsi audiens terkait pemaknaan konten seputar seks dan seksualitas dalam series Sex Education dengan pendekatan kuantitatif dan kualitatif.

This paper analyzes how the Netflix series “Sex Education” as a form of mass communication media deliver sex education to the audiences. The concept analyzed in this paper is the implication of the five categories of comprehensive sexuality education (CSE) topics promoted by UNFPA. In addition, this paper also looks for the root causes of problems related to sex education that this series tries to overcome. This study uses content analysis method by observing the scenes in the series as well as analyzing its relationship with the concept. The results of the analysis show that all topic categories in CSE are contained in the Sex Education series, making this series a good means of informal sex education for audiences, especially teenagers. The suggestion for further research is to use audience reception theory related to the meaning of content about sex and sexuality in the Sex Education series with quantitative and qualitative approaches."

"Berbicara tentang seks seringkali dihindari oleh masyarakat karena dianggap tabu, kotor, dsb. Padahal, seks merupakan fitrah manusia sebagai mahluk hidup untuk berkembang biak. Minimnya pendidikan seks, yang hanya terbatas pada sudut pandang sistem biologis membuat kondisi semakin parah. Akibatnya, remaja tumbuh dengan pengetahuan yang terbatas atau berpotensi menyesatkan yang mereka dapatkan dari Internet. Karena kepolosan mereka, mereka berada di posisi yang rentan untuk menjadi korban pelecehan seksual. Fokus pada penelitian ini adalah TV serial produksi Netflix, Sex Education 2019. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk berkontribusi pada bidang pendidikan di Indonesia dengan menganalisis kepuasan dan harapan remaja Indonesia kepada pemerintah mengenai kurikulum seks edukasi di Indonesia dengan merefleksikan pengetahuan mereka terhadap serial Sex Education 2019 dari sudut pandang budaya Timur. Pembahasannya akan meliputi dua gagasan utama: bagaimana anak muda Indonesia bereaksi terhadap konten eksplisit dan metode pendidikan dalam Sex Education 2019 dan apa yang penonton harapkan setelah menonton serial tersebut untuk diterapkan pada pendidikan di Indonesia. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah tanggapan khayalak (audience resoponse). Penelitian ini menemukan bahwa anak muda Indonesia menganggap bahwa series ini menggambarkan pendidikan seks dengan cara yang menakjubkan, namun mereka menyadari bahwa metode yang diterapkan di dalam serial tersebut mungkin tidak dapat diterapkan pada program edukasi dan kondisi di Indonesia.

Talking about sex is often avoided by people since it is considered taboo, dirty, etc. In fact, sex is one essential part of nature as human beings to breed. The lack of education, which is limited to only the perspective of a biological system, makes the condition even worse. Consequently, adolescents grow up with limited or potentially misleading knowledge that they get from the Internet. Because of their innocence, they are fragile to be victims of sexual harassment. The focus of the research is on a Netflix production series, Sex Education 2019. This research aims to contribute to the field of education in Indonesia by analyzing adolescents’ satisfaction with and expectations to the government regarding sex-education curriculum in Indonesia by reflecting their knowledge to Sex Education 2019 series from the perspective of Eastern culture. The discussion will cover two main ideas: how youths react towards explicit content and the method of education in the Sex Education 2019 Series’ and what is expected by the audience after watching the series to be applied to education in Indonesia. The method used in this research was audience responses. The study found that Indonesian youths agreed that the series portrays sex education marvellously, yet they are aware that the method on the series might not be applicable to the education program and conditions in Indonesia. "

"The research means to know the relation between islamic sex education and sexual behavior in youth. The research location is chosen purposively in Depok district, Sleman regence. Research subjects are also chosen purposively. Based on that technique, can be collected 200 research subjects. Data gathered through sending scaled questionnaires and analyzed through spearman's product moment correlation. The research result found that there is a significant negative correlation between islamic sexual education and sexual behavior in youth. That means that the higher islamic sex education received, the lower sexual behavior done by youth. Based on the research result, it is recommended that the ministry of social affairs through the directory of family empowerment should keep educating youth to prevent free sexual behavior. To the parents should consistently apply sex education according to sharia (islamic norm) as early as possible in coincidence with children to adult growth. To youth should join positive and benefit activity in their lives, away from youth free sexual behavior. "

"ABSTRAKPerilaku berpacaran remaja sekarang sudah mengarah kepada perilaku sekspranikah. Pengetahuan orang tua dan peran dalam memberikan pendidikan seksyang diperlukan untuk mengurangi masalah perilaku seks pranikah pada remaja.Penelitian ini menggunakan desain deskriptif sederhana dan teknik triangulasidengan tujuan untuk mengetahui gambaran tingkat pengetahuan orang tuamengenai perilaku berpacaran yang dilakukan anak remajanya dan perannyadalam memberikan pendidikan seks. Sampel pada penelitian ini berjumlah 96orang tua yang memiliki anak usia remaja yang berpacaran di Desa KepuhrejoProvinsi Jawa Timur. Teknik sampling yang digunakan adalah random sampling.Hasil penelitian menunjukkan tingkat pengetahuan orang tua mengenai perilakuberpacaran pada anak remajanya dan peran dalam memberikan pendidikan sekssecara umum masih kurang. Saran bagi penelitian selanjutnya adalahmenggunakan desain penelitian deskripsi komparatif atau deskripsi korelatifsehingga hasil penelitian dapat lebih berkembang dan bervariasi.

ABSTRACTCurrently, the dating behavior of adolescent leads to premarital sex behavior. Inthat case, proper knowledge and role of parents are needed to decrease thenumber of premarital sex possibilities in adolescent children. This research used asimple descriptive design and triangulation technique which has purpose to identify theparents level of knowledge about sexual behaviour of their adolescent children and theirrole in sex education. The number of sample were 96 parents who have adolescentchildren in Desa Kepuhrejo, East Java. Sampling technique used was random samplingand used proportion experiment analysis. The result showed that the parents?knowledge about sexual behavior of adolescent children and their role in providing sexeducation was still at low level. Recommendation for next research is using differentdesign such us comparative descriptive or colerative descriptive in order to the result ofresearch more complex and variation."

"SMP Negeri "X" Depok merupakan salah satu sekolah unggulan yang berada di Depok. Letaknya yang berbatasan dengan Jakarta membuat remaja di sekolah ini dapat berpotensi berperilaku berisiko. Perkembangan seksualitas merupakan masa krisis bagi remaja. Untuk memenuhi rasa ingin tahu tentang seks dan kesehatan reproduksi remaja berusaha mencari akses dan melakukan eksplorasi sendiri tentang seks dan kesehatan reproduksi. Menurut beberapa penelitian remaja harus diberikan pendidikan seks sejak dini. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui persepsi remaja mengenai pendidikan seks di SMP Negeri "X" Depok pada tahun 2014. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian kualitatif dengan teknik diskusi kelompok terarah dan wawancara mendalam dalam pengambilan data primer. Data diperoleh dari 12 informan yang berusia 13-14 tahun serta dari guru di SMP Negeri "X" Depok. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan pendidikan seks dinilai oleh remaja sebagai sesuatu yang penting, bernilai positif, serta bermanfaat bagi mereka. Melalui pendidikan seks remaja dapat mengarahkan perilaku seksualnya. Remaja menganggap pendidikan seks dapat menjawab keingintahuan dan rasa penasaran mereka mengenai hal yang berkaitan dengan seks.

"X" Junior High School in Depok is one of the top schools were located in Depok. It is bordered by the Jakarta, so makes the adolescent's at this school can potentially got a risk behavior. Progress of the sexuality is the crucial moments for adolescent. To satisfy curiosity about sex and reproductive health adolescent trying to find the information about it with their own access and exploration. The results from some studies adolescents should be given sex education from an early age. The purpose of this study is to know adolescent's perception about sex education at 'X' junior high school Depok in 2014. This is a qualitative study using focus group discussion and in-depth interview techniques in primary data collection. The data were obtained from 12 informants aged 13-14 years and teacher's. The result of this study are sex education is important and useful for them. With sex education adolescent can control their sex behavior and answered their curiosity about sex."
