"ABSTRAKKemutakhiran sumber rujukan dalam karya tulis ilmiah (KTI) merupakan hal penting yang dipersyaratkan dalam penilaian angka kredit jabatan fungsional. Oleh karena itu, agar KTI mendapat nilai baik, maka sumber rujukan harus mutakhir. Pengkajian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kemutakhiran sumber rujukan antara jurnal perpustakaan terbitan Kementerian Pertanian dengan jurnal perpustakaan terbitan Perpustakaan Nasional Rl. Parameter yang dikaji adalah (1) proporsi sumber rujukan (majalah/jurnal, buku/monograf, sumber on-line, peraturan/surat keputusan, undang-undang, makalah, laporan, skripsi/tesis/disertasi, koran), (2) peringkat majalah/jurnal yang dirujuk, (3) kemutakhiran usia rujukan dan (4) paruh hidup (half-life) literatur. Analisis bibliometrik digunakan untuk memperoleh dan menganalisa data. Hasil pengkajian menunjukkan bahwa proporsi sumber rujukan yang paling banyak disitir oleh kedua jurnal perpustakaan tersebut adalah buku (rata-rata 34,8%), disusul oleh majalah/jurnal (rata-rata 28,2%). Tidak semua artikel merujuk pada artikel yang bersumber dari majalah/jurnal. Proporsi artikel yang merujuk padamajalah/jurnal: menunjukkan bahwa jurnal perpustakaan Kementerian Pertanian (96%) lebih besar dibanding jurnal Perpustakaan Nasional (53%). Tingkat keterpakaian publikasi jurnal perpustakaan Kementerian Pertanian cukup tinggi sebagai bahan rujukan dalam penulisan artikel baik di publikasi internal (13,9%) maupun di eksternal, seperti jurnal Perpustakaan Nasional (2,4%) dari total rujukan. Kebaruan literatur yang dirujuk berusia. 0-5 tahun. pada pada jurnal Perpustakaan Nasional lebih tinggi (37,5%) dibanding jurnal perpustatakaan Kementerian Pertanian (36,2%). Paruh hidup literatur (half-life literatur) relatif hampir sama, antara jurnal perpustakaan Kementerian Pertanian (7,26 tahun) dengan jurnal Perpustakaan Nasional (7,33 tahun)."
