Williams III, Frank P.
"Notes: Criminological Theory, 6/e provides concise chronological coverage of all the major criminological theories. The text puts theories into socio-historical context to illustrate how and why certain theories evolved, why they were popular at particular points in time, and how they are still active and influential today. The authors also examine the research and policies that were inspired by each theory. Specifically designed to suit one-semester courses, students and instructors alike will appreciate the text’s straight-forward approach, clear language, and comprehensive coverage."

Walsh, Anthony, 1941-
"Criminologists can benefit from questioning the underlying assumptions upon which they rest their work. Philosophy has the ability to clarify our thoughts, inform us of why we think about things the way we do, solve contradictions in our thinking we never knew existed, and even dissolve some dichotomies we thought were cast in stone. One of those dichotomies is free will vs. determinism. Criminology must reckon with both free will and agency, as posited by some theories, and determinism, as posited by others-including the ever more influential fields of genetics and biosocial criminology. This title examines philosophical concepts such as these in the context of important criminological theories or issues that are foundational but not generally considered in the literature on this topic."

This paper discusses the application of E-Tilang and E-TLE as a form of development of ticketing. The use of technology aims to simplify the ticketing process itself as well as improve supervision carried out by the police in preventing and reducing traffic violations. In addition, the existence of E-Tilang and E-TLE is also considered to reduce the problems that occur in the conventional ticketing process such as illegal fees and granting bribes that cause social losses. Based on this, in this paper using panopticism to explain that supervision can be done indirectly. This indirect supervision creates an effect on the subject that is monitored by the feeling of being watched so that it creates anorder. By using this concept, the application of E-Tilang and E-TLE creates an effect in society that they are always supervised when driving on the highway, the effect is expected that people can drive in accordance with established regulations. This writing was studied with a visual criminology approach to interpret the manifestations in images /videos related to the application of E-Tilang and E-TLE and social harm."
