"ABSTRAKAdanya kendala perizinan mendirikan gereja memicu umat Kristen mencarialternatif pengadaan tempat ibadah. Salah satunya dengan menginsersikannya kedalam bangunan yang sudah ada. Skripsi ini mengangkat studi kasus Gereja KristenIndonesia (GKI) Jatibening yang bertempat di rumah jemaatnya secara bergantian.Permasalahan yang dibahas yaitu proses gereja tersebut diproduksi, dan perubahanpola ruang dalam (interior) apa saja yang terjadi. Dari temuan didapat kesimpulanbahwa dalam proses produksi gereja mandiri lebih didominasi simbol dan bentukfisik atas relasi manusia dengan Tuhan. Sedangkan pada gereja di rumah, terdapatperbedaan kualitas ruang yang secara mendasar disebabkan oleh jarak, yangwalaupun menjadi keterbatasan, tetapi di sisi lain menghadirkan peluangberinteraksi dan membina relasi antar pelaku kebaktian.

ABSTRACTThe existence of permit constraints for building a church led the Christians inIndonesia to seek an alternative way in providing a space to worship. One of themethods is by inserting the worship place within the existing buildings. This thesiswill discuss the case study of Gereja Kristen Indonesia (GKI) Jatibeningcongregation, which takes place inside the houses of its Christian adherent. Issuesthat will be discussed centered on production processes of congregation and thechanges of pattern within the inner space (interior). The findings on this case studyconcluded that production process of standalone congregation is dominated bysymbols and physical form of human and God relationship. While for thecongregation inside a house, there’s a fundamental difference of spatial quality asresult of distance that has become a limit, but on the other hand, it creates a chancefor interaction and initiate relation between the worshiper"

"ABSTRAKFenomena penggusuran-bermukim kembali yang terjadi berulang kali pada masyarakat hunian pinggir rel kereta di Jakarta mengindikasikan adanya gejala hunian sebagai tempat kembali (home). Meskipun memiliki kondisi fisik yang buruk rupa (ugly), hunian masyarakat bawah ini juga memiliki kelebihan dalam hubungan sosialnya.Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui makna home yang terbentuk dengan mengkaji proses produksi ruang sosialnya. Hal ini dilakukan untuk membuktikan adanya keterkaitan antara home dengan hubungan sosial. Kajian ini dilakukan dengan menganalisis interaksi yang terjadi antara manusia dengan lingkungannya dalam skala makro maupun mikro.Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa dari segi keteraturan, mekanisme produksi ruang sosial masyarakat hunian pinggir rel kereta ini terbentuk dalam skala personal, bukan skala kolektif. Meskipun demikian, saat terjadi ketidakteraturan (ancaman), muncul indikasi rasa keterikatan dan rasa identitas yang mengikat satu kesatuan kolektif dan mengikis rasa individualitas antar penghuni.

ABSTRACT

Displacement-Re-dwelling phenomenon which occurs repeatedly on the rail-edge dwelling in Jakarta indicates sign of occupancy as a place of return (home). Despite having such a poor physical condition (ugly), low-income dwelling also have strength in its social milieu.

The purpose of this study was to determine the meaning of a home that is produced by examining the production process of social space. This is done to prove the relation between home and social relationship. The study was conducted by analyzing the interactions between humans and their environment in the macro and micro scale.

The results showed that in terms of order, the social space production mechanism of railedgeinhabitantsis formed in a personal scale, not a collective scale. Nonetheless, in the term of disorder (threat), there are indications of?sense of belonging? and ?sense of identity? that bind the collective unity and erode the ?sense of individuality? among the inhabitants."
