"Masalah utama yang akan diteliti adalah tema utama novel Jakob der Lugner, yaitu kebohongan dan fungsinya. Untuk menunjang analisis, penelitian ini menerapkan teori dan pendekatan sosiologi sastra yang memandang penting latar belakang sejarah suatu teks sastra dan fungsi teks di dalam masyarakat.Penelitian ini memfokuskan diri pada fungsi dan ideologi kebohongan untuk melawan holocaust di dalam getto dan melawan ideologi kebohongan di dalam masyarakat Jerman sesudah perang yang mendasarkan dirinya pada mitos. Untuk mencapai tujuan itu penelitian ini terutama menggunakan ketiga unsur sastra, yaitu penokohan, perspektif dan latar belakang yang saling berkaitan satu sama lain dan merepresentasikan keseluruhan masalah yang akan diteliti. Ketiga unsur itu disebut pula perangkat sastra.Analisis tokoh difokuskan pada kedua tokoh utama: Pertama, tokoh Jakob yang menceritakan kebohongan untuk menciptakan harapan pada penghuni getto agar mampu bertahan hidup. Kedua, narator yang yang terlibat dalam keseluruhan cerita dan yang menceritakan kisah "Jakob si Pembohong".Berdasarkan analisis masalah melalui ketiga unsur sastra di atas, penelitian ini menghasilkan kesimpulan:I. Tokoh Jakob - karena cintanya - melakukan perlawanan terhadap holocaust di dalam getto melalui kebohongan tentang radio yang digunakan untuk tujuan positif, yaitu untuk menciptakan harapan dalam diri penghuni getto agar mereka mampu bertahan hidup. Dengan cara itu ia melakukan re-interpretasi, re-kreasi dan re-definisi atas konsepsi klasik tentang kebohongan dalam kebudayaan Eropa yang berdasarkan pada Alkitab (Perjanjian Lama).II. Melalui kebohongan narator melakukan perlawanan terhadap ideologi kebohongan dalam masyarakat Jerman pascaperang. Selain itu, ia mengkritik bangsa/negara Jerman "modern" yang dibentuk pascaperang itu yang mendasarkan diri pada mitos.

The main problems that I am going to analyze are the central themes of the novel, which are about the lies and their functions. To strengthen the analysis, the theoretical concept applied is taken from literature-sociology, which concerns with historical background in the literary text and its function in the society.

This research concentrates on the analysis of the functions of lies and their ideology against the holocaust in the ghetto and against lies ideology in the postwar German society based on myths. To attain this purpose, the foci of attention are on three elements respectively: characterization, point of view, and setting, which are interconnected with one another and represent the whole problems to analyze. These elements are also called literary devices.

The analysis of characters would be focusing on two main characters: The first is Jakob, who tells lies to create hope among the ghettos inhabitants in order to survive. The second is narrator, who is engaged in the whole lie-story and tells the story of Jacob the Liar.

Based on the analyses of the three elements of fiction, namely, characters, point of view, and setting, the writer comes to conclusions:

I. The character Jakob struggles - because of his love - against holocaust in the ghetto through his lies about the radio for positive purpose: to create hope among the ghetto inhabitants in order to survive. In addition, he re-interprets, re-creates and re-defines the classical conception of lie in the European culture based on the Bible (The Old Testament).

II. Through lies, the narrator struggles against the lies ideology in the postwar German society. In addition, he criticizes the "modern" German Nations/States, which are constructed based on myths."

"Der andere Blick, Eine deutsche Leidenschaft namens Nudelsalat, dan Eine Germanistin im Haus erspart den Psychiater merupakan tiga cerita pendek karya Rafik Schami yang merupakan seorang imigran dari Syiria dan tinggal di Jerman. Rafik Schami memiliki ciri khas dan keunikan dalam gaya penulisannya. Terkadang, ia kerap membentuk kisahnya menjadi cerita di dalam cerita. Hal ini kemudian dapat kita analisa melalui teori naratologi. Pada cerpen - cerpen Schami, kita akan melihat bagaimana pandangan tokoh ich sebagai imigran terhadap budaya dan masyarakat Jerman. Ada beberapa budaya yang pada awalnya merupakan sesuatu yang fremd (asing) bagi dirinya, kemudian berubah menjadi bagian dari dirinya atau menjadi Eigenes setelah ia beradaptasi dengan budaya tersebut di Jerman. Hal ini dapat kita lihat melalui proses verstehen tokoh ich terhadap budaya Jerman tersebut.

Der andere Blick, Eine deutsche Leidenschaft namens Nudelsalat, dan Eine Germanistin im Haus erspart den Psychiater are three short stories written by Rafik Schami, an immigrant from Syiria who lives in Germany. Rafik Schami has a unique writing style. He often uses frame narrative technique or a story within a story technique for his works. It can be analyzed by using narratology. In Schami's stories, we will see the perspective from ich character as an immigrant toward cultures and society in Germany. There were some cultures which at the first he considered as something fremd (strange), then it turned out to be a part of him or be Eigenes, after he adapted to the culture in Germany. This can be seen through verstehen process from ich character toward the German culture. "

"ABSTRAKKesadaran adanya perlakuan diskriminatif pada kaum penyandang disabilitas di dalam kehidupan masyarakat Jerman meningkat sejak tahun 1960an hingga tahun 1980an. Para kaum penyandang disabilitas saat itu dipandang sebelah mata, tidak dipedulikan atau diabaikan dan dianggap sebagai orang-orang yang tidak memerlukan perhatian khusus. Sebagai seorang kritikus berpengaruh di Jerman, Peter H rtling mengangkat isu ini ke dalam salah satu novel anaknya yang berjudul Das war der Hirbel 1973. Penelitian ini akan membahas bentuk-bentuk kritik sosial yang secara implisit maupun eksplisit disampaikan oleh Peter H rtling di dalam novel anak tersebut. Secara keseluruhan kritik yang disampaikan berupa hak yang sama bagi anak-anak kaum penyandang disabilitas untuk hidup yang nyaman, belajar atau bersekolah, dan bersosial di dalam masyarakat.

ABSTRACTThe awareness of discriminatory treatment for disabled person in German 39s society increased from the 1960s to 1980s. In those years, disabled people are underestimated, ignored or disregarded and considered as people that do not require special attention. As a critic influential in Germany, Peter H rtling raised this issue in one of his child novel entitled Das war der Hirbel 1973 . This research will discuss forms of social criticism in implicit and explicit delivered by Peter H rtling in this novel. Overall, the criticism that delivered are the same rights for children with disabilities to have a comfortable life, have an education, go to appropriate school and have socialization in the society."
