"Group paging merupakan salah satu mekanisme yang menjanjikan untuk mengatasi overload pada Radio Access Network (RAN) di jaringan Long Term Evolution (LTE) untuk mendukung layanan Machine-type Communication (MTC). Tesis ini menyajikan dua strategi untuk meningkatkan performa group paging, yaitu consecutive group paging dan group paging dengan pre-backoff. Kedua strategi ini menggunakan model analisis dan metrik tolak ukur performa yang telah diperkenalkan di [1]. Dalam tesis ini, consecutive group paging diimplementasikan tanpa maupun dengan alokasi resource dinamis per-pagingaccess- interval. Dua metode untuk mengalokasikan resource secara dinamis juga ditampilkan dalam tesis ini. Hasil simulasi menunjukkan bahwa kedua strategi dapat meningkatkan performa group paging.

Group paging is one of the most promising mechanisms to alleviate the Radio Access Network (RAN) overload problem in Long Term Evolution (LTE) network supporting Machine-type Communication (MTC). This work presents two enhancement schemes for group paging namely consecutive group paging and group paging with pre-backoff. Both schemes use the analytical model derived in [1] as the foundation, as well as the performance metrics.

We implement the consecutive group paging with and without per-paging-access-interval dynamic resource allocation, and present two approaches of dynamic resource allocation. Simulation results show that the proposed schemes can improve the performance of group paging."
