"Seiring meluasnya penggunaan komputer dalam dunia pendidikan yang disertai dengan bertambahnya kebutuhan akan pembelajaran yang lebih efektif, menyebabkan terlahirnya inovasi baru dalam dunia Computer Aided Instruction (CAI), yaitu Intelligent Tutoring System (ITS). ITS mampu memberikan pembelajaran yang bersifat individualized kepada setiap siswa sesuai dengan kemampuannya masing-masing. Kemampuan ITS untuk mengadaptasikan pembelajaran sesuai kemampuan siswa merupakan hasil dari kinerja salah satu modul dalam ITS, yaitu Student Model yang mampu mengukur kemampuan siswa. Untuk mengukur kemampuan siswa yang mengandung ketidakpastian, Student Model memerlukan sebuah teknik. Salah satu teknik yang dapat digunakan dan yang dijadikan pembahasan pula dalam laporan Tugas Akhir ini adalah Bayesian Network.Sesuai dengan tema yang diangkat pada Tugas Akhir ini, yaitu Penerapan Bayesian Network pada Student Model, penulis menetapkan bahwa tujuan dari Tugas Akhir ini adalah untuk mengetahui lebih jauh tentang Student Model serta bagaimana Bayesian Network diterapkan dalam Student Model, dan juga untuk membuktikan bahwa Bayesian Network dapat mendukung Student Model dalam menjadikan ITS lebih adaptif. Untuk mencapai tujuan tersebut, penulis meggunakan metodologi berupa studi literatur, analisa, perancangan dan implementasi sistem, serta ujicoba dan penarikan kesimpulan.Hasil akhir yang diperoleh dari penelitian yang dilakukan oleh penulis, setelah dilakukan ujicoba dengan menggunakan beberapa kondisi pada prototipe sistem yang telah dibuat, ternyata mampu membuktikan bahwa Bayesian Network mampu mendukung kinerja dari Student Model."
