"ABSTRAKStudies of forest ecosystems enable gathering important information on the natural environment the development of which is more and more disturbed by the global climate change. The current research on the ecosystem functioning provides data that may be of much value for future analysis and prognostic studies. Modern measurement techniques used in the forest research have a significant influence on the increase in the database resources, especially those concerning the spatial data. Big data requires the use of advanced analytical technologies, such as data warehouses, computer clusters or cloud computing. Consequently, cooperation of specialists from various scientific disciplines, including forestry, geography, climatology and computer science, has become increasingly necessary. The IT system of the Forest Research Institute was modernized within the framework of the Operational Programme Innovative Economy 2007 until 2013. Its functionality allows integrating, storing and analyzing ever more big databases from dispersed sources. The idea of open access to data is realized by the FRI mainly through publication of research results in domestic and foreign scientific journals, in specialized information services and on scientific portals. On the other hand, open access to raw data still raises a lot of concern and controversies in the scientific community, especially in the context of copyright infringement."

"ABSTRAKThe quality of journals in Indonesia is much criticized; however, the number of Indonesian journals that meet the criteria of Directory of Open Access Journal (DOAJ) is quite a lot. This study describes some facts of Indonesias publications based on DOAJ and World Bank data. Data Collection Method. Some filtering processes in DOAJ database were done based on sum of journals, scientific fields distribution, and Article Processing Charge (APC). Open data regarding research funds among countries in World Bank database were analyzed.Data Analysis. This study used quantitative descriptive design with frequency analysis technique. Data visualization was done with R Statistical Computing and Google Sheets.Results and Discussions. In March 2017, there were 500 Indonesian journals (5th rank worldwide); 420 of them were in Indonesian covering more than 51,000 articles (7th rank). The top three fields were: education, Islam religion, as well as business and commerce. As much as 70% of the journals were free of APC. Science must prioritize inclusiveness and equality inline with the principles of originality and honesty.Conclusions. This study concludes that open access journals in Indonesia improves the accessibility, quality, and relevance of Indonesian research, which can be reused by communities, industries, and the government."

Gas Bumi khususnya semakin berperan dalam iklim dimana cadangan minyak bumi yang semakin menipis sebagai salah satu alternatif yang dapat menggantikan BBM, selain harganya murah juga bersahabat dengan lingkungan. Dalam pengembangannya masalah letak geografis sebagai kendala yang harus diatasi karena letak sumber gas bumi yang berskala besar jauh terpisah dari pengguna gas bumi, oleh karena itu diperlukan suatu jaringan pipa gas untuk menghubungkan dari sumber gas ke sentra - sentra konsumen. PT. Perusahaan Gas Negara (Persero ) salah satu Badan Usaha Milik Negara dibawah Departemen Pertambangan dan Energi yang mempunyai peran dalam mendayagunakan pemanfatan gas baik gas bumi maupun gas buatan sebagai bahan bakar gas di dalam negeri bagi kepentigan masyarakat luas dengan memanfaatkan sitem Jaringan Pipa Transmisi dan Distribusi disertai pelayanan teknis sampai titik bakarnya. Namun demikian dalam mengantisipasi persaingan dipasar bebas dimana menerapkan prinsip usaha terpisah ( unbundling) akan muncul pesaing baik swasta nasional maupun asing dibidang distribusi gas yang juga sebagai pemasar ( Marketer ) maka diperlukan strategi pemasaran yang cocok. Untuk mengetahui seberapa besar daya saing perusahaan dilakukan Analisis secara makro maupun makro. Analisis makro yaitu menganalisis sumberdaya perusahaan untuk mengetahui kompetensi yang dimiliki dengan mengaudit sumberdaya yang ada. Sedangkan analisis makro untuk mengetahui dimana posisi kompetitif perusahaan berada, dengan melihat kekuatan, kelemahan, peluang dan kendala ( SWOT) kemudian dipetakan dalam suatu model dari Boston Consulting Group ( BCG matrix). Sedangkan untuk pemetaan produknya dilakukan dengan melalui kajian terhadap daya tarik pasar dan daya saing perusahaan yang digambarkan dalam GE 9 cell. Dari hasil analisa BCG, posisi perusahaan pada kwadran I yang artinya Strategi yang ditempuh saat ini adalah " Rapid Growth Strategy ", sedangkan pemetaan produknya posisi perusahaan berada pada " Selective Growth "."
