"Kampong chickens have a lot of varieties spreading out all over Indonesia, and becoming everybody’s favourites, however, it has low productivity. Meanwhile, broiler chickens who have high productivity has certain level of immunity to a desease.
Chickens have a nature of immitation. From this, a research has been developed to increase the productivity of kampong chickens in term of the increase of their body weigh by comparison of M7B3 (kampong chickens 7 and broiler 3), M5B5 (kampong 5 and broiler 5), M3B7 (kampong 3 and broiler 7) and kampong control M10, and broiler control B10. From this mixture, we can see their eating behavior that has on impact upon the kampong chickens’body weight from those that are DOC to those that are 6 weeks.
Infact, this mixture does not make their growth (the increase of their weight) defferent.
However, M3B7 shows good combination and the increase of their weight on the part of
kampong chickens on average. This result may be caused by the narrow combination of
the mixture. Heig mortality is experienced by the broiler chickens when they attacked by
Berak Kapur desease. This proves that Kampong chickens’ immunity is better than that
of broiler chickens."

"Tulisan ini bertujuan untuk memberikan gambaran perhitungan harga pokok penjualan yang dilakukan oleh perusahaan peternakan ayam Broiler. Disamping itu juga memberikan gambaran saran perhitungan harga pokok yang seharusnya. Tulisan ini menggunakan metode penelitian yang terdiri dari studi kepustakaan dan studi lapangan studi kepustakaan dilakukan dengan membaca berbagai literatur yang berhubungan dengan perhitungan harga pokok penjualan. studi lapangan'dilakukan dengan pengamatan langsung ke perusahaan yang dijadikan obyek penulisan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat metode perhitungan yang berbeda diantara perusahaan-perusahaan tersebut. Tulisan ini mengusulkan cara perhitungan harga pokok yang sebaiknya dilakukan oleh perusahaan yang bergerak dalam bidang peternakan ayam Broiler, agar dapat mencerminkan perhitungan harga pokok yang sebenarnya."

"Merawang chicken was a local chicken from Bangka Belitung Island, South Sumatera, with a special characteristic an uniform of feather colour by squeezing chocolate or golden in males and also females. The study was conducted to investigate the genetic and phenotype traits of production and reproduction of Merawang chicken. Fourty five males and thirty females of 21 - 26 weeks of age from identified parents were used in this experiment. The observed female variables were body weight, sexual maturity, egg production, fertility and hatchability. The male variables were body weight, sexual maturity, volume of semen, motility and concentration of spermatozoa. Semen were collected once a week by Burrows and Quinn methods. The data were analyzed by Burrows and Quinn methods. The data were analyzed by variance analyses of CRD and nested design to find out variance and covariance components. The results showed that the females variabilities of sexual maturity, body weight, egg production, fertility and hatchability were 8.07%, 10.55%, 24.82%, 38.87% and 19.98%, repectively. The males variabilities of sexual maturity, body weight, volume of semen, motility and concentration of spermatozoa were 4.96%, 14,21%, 42.50%, 7.12% and 45.16%, repectively. The heritabilities of females on sexual maturity, body weight, egg production, fertility and hatchability were 0.311, 0.509, 0.927, 0.677 and 0.314, respectively. The heritabilities of males on sexual maturity, body weight, volume of semen, motility and concentration of spermatozoa were 0.607, 0.393, 0.200, 0.203 and 0.011, respectively."

"Gumboro Disease or Infectious Bursal Disease Virus (IBDV) is a chicken disease targeting the Bursa of Fabricius, an important organ in the young chicken's developing immune system. Very virulent strains of IBDV caused in mortality of up to 40%. At the other hand, local farmers used Red Ginger (Zingiber officinale Roscoe) to improve general performance and meat/carcass quality of broiler chicken. According to the Gumboro Disease, a study was conducted to evaluate the effects of the Red Ginger supplementation in the ration on blood and Bursa of Fabricius profile of broiler chicken. Two hundred five days old broiler chick were randomly divided into five different groups, i.e.: R-0 (ration without red ginger supplementation); R-0,5 (ration with supplementation of 0.5% RG); R-1,0 (ration with supplementation of 1.0% RG); R-1,5 (ration with supplementation of 1.5% RG); and R-2,0 (ration with supplementation of 2.0% RG). The ration was iso-caloric and iso-pro-tein, containing CP 21-23%, ME 3150 kcal ME/kg, Ca 1 %, and P 0.5%. There was five replications for each treatment (eight heads per group). After five weeks old, the blood were collected and the broiler were slaughtered to collect the Bursa of Fabricius for histopathologic preparate analyses. A One Way Classification of Variance Analyses (CRD) was used to analyze the data. Only the significant differences between all treatments were analyzed by the Duncan's New Multiple Range Test (DMRT). The results showed that the red ginger supplementation of 1.5-2.0% increased the amount of erytrocyte (P<. 05) but decrease amount of leukocyte (P<.01). Furthermore, red ginger supplementation injured the Bursa of Fabricus. "

"ABSTRAK
Nitrogen merupakan salah satu unsur dalam manur ayam atau kotoran ayam yang dapat mencemari lingkungan. Nitrogen dalam bentuk gas amonia, nitrat dan nitrit dapat mencemari udara dan air. Tetapi nitrogen sendiri merupakan salah satu unsur hara yang penting bagi tumbuhan, sehingga pada pengolahan manur sebagai pupuk, kandungan nitrogen pada manur perlu diperhatikan.
Sebagian besar hilangnya nitrogen pada manur ayam karena terbentuknya gas amoma. Temperatur ruangan merupakan salah satu faktor yang dapat mempercepat penguapan gas amonia. Apabila pada tempat penyimpanan manur terlewati aliran air, maka nitrogen dalam manur akan semakin berkurang karena garam-garam nitrat dan nitrit yang ada akan terbawa oleh aliran air.
Berbagai cara dilakukan untuk mengurangi kehilangan nitrogen pada manur ayam akibat terbentuknya gas amonia. Di negara-negara maju digunakan zeolit, jerami dan garam-garam kalsium untuk mengurangi terbentuknya gas amoma. Pada penelitian ini digunakan kapur untuk mengurangi kehilangan nitrogen.
Penentuan kadar nitrogen dalam manur ayam dilakukan dengan metode Kjedahl dan dianalisis dengan spektrofotometer. Parameter lain yang diukur pada penelitian ini berupa kadar air, pH, kadar fosfor clan kalium pada manur ayam.
Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan kadar nitrogen pada manur yang menggunakan kapur dan manur kontrol, dimana kadar nitrogen dengan menggunakan kapur sedikit lebih tinggi dari manur kontrol. Sedangkan kadar air pada manur yang ditambah kapur, lebih rendah dari kadar air manur kontrol. Penambahan kapur memberikan peningkatan pH sedikit lebih tinggi selama beberapa hari pengamatan dibandingkan dengan manur kontrol. Kadar kalium dan fosfor dalam manur tidak memperlihatkan penurunan yang berarti, karena kalium dan fosfor tidak terdekomposisi selama manur mengalami dekomposisi."

"Usaha pemeliharaan ayam pedaging (Broiler) di Kota Depok telah lama dilaksanakan, bahkan telah banyak dipelihara baik secara perorangan di rumah tangga dalam jumlah yang relatif terbatas dan juga oleh para peternak yang telah lama bergerak dalam usaha ini tentunya dalam jumlah yang relatif besar. Banyaknya para peternak ayam pedaging (Broiler) yang ada di Kota Depok merupakan suatu nilai yang positif untuk menunjang kontribusi kepada pemerintah dan masyarakat dalam rangka ikut memenuhi permintaan pasar terhadap protein hewani yang dari hari ke hari semakin bertambah kebutuhannya. Pertambahan jumlah penduduk akan meningkatkan kebutuhan, baik secara kualitatif maupun kuantitatif. Peningkatan kebutuhan akan meningkatkan kebutuhan akan tanah atau tempat. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana pola produktivitas peternakan ayam pedaging (Broiler) di Kota Depok dengan menggunakan analisa spasial dan analisa statistik.
Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kondisi fisik seperti jarak lokasi peternakan terhadap jalan, karakteristik wilayah dan luas tanah terbangun lebih berpengaruh terhadap produktivitas peternakan ayam pedaging (Broiler) di Kota Depok dibandingkan dengan teknologi budidaya yang digunakan (jenis bibit, jenis pakan dan tipe kandang).

Poultry (Broiler) in Depok City have been starting since long time ago, either in family based farm with limited amount or in a big husbandary of experionced breeders. Big number of poultry (Broiler) breeders in Depok means a positive contribution to goverment and community in a way to fulfill the market demand which getting bigger and bigger by time. The increase of population will influence the demand, both in quality and quantity, and then, will increase the nedd pf area or place. This study is focused on get to know about the spatial pattern of poultry farm (Broiler) in Depok, by using spatial analysis and statistic analysis.
The findings showed that the physical condition such as the between farm area and road, area characteristic and the landscape, have bigger influence to the productivity of poultry farms (Broiler) in Depok than technology of husbandary cultivation (The type or germ, food and coop)
