"Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mencoba menguji pengaruh budaya organisasi dan gaya kepemimpinan terhadap kinerja karyawan di SEAMEO SEAMOLEC (Southeast Asian Ministers of Education Organization Regional Open Learning Centre, Kementerian Pendidikan dan Kebudayan).Penelitian ini menggunakan paradigma penelitian positivis (klasik), dengan menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dan bersifat eksplanatif. Metode pengumpulan data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah survey yaitu dengan menggunakan kuesioner online yang difasilitasi oleh Google Documents. Disebarkan kepada responden dalam jaringan melalui mailing list staff SEAMEO SEAMOLEC. Populasi penelitian berjumlah 70 orang yang kesemuanya merupakan karyawan dari SEAMEO SEAMOLEC, karena penelitian ini merupakan jenis penelitian sensus dimana setiap anggota dari populasi akan dijadikan sampel penelitian. Analisis Data yang digunakan adalah analisis data multivariat dengan menggunakan Path Analysis. Data yang didapatkan dari survei lapangan selanjutnya dianalisis dengan menggunakan metode statistik dengan bantuan perangkat lunak SPSS (Statistical Program for Social Science) versi 17.0.Temuan empiris mengindikasikan bahwa untuk meningkatkan kinerja karyawan, maka SEAMEO SEAMOLEC perlu memperhatikan faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi kinerja karyawan, seperti budaya organisasi dan gaya kepemimpinan, karena dengan mengetahui pengaruh hubungan tersebut dapat dijadikan acuan untuk merancang strategi guna meningkatkan kinerja karyawan.

This study aims to try to test the influence of organizational culture and leadership styles on employee performance in SEAMOLEC SEAMEO (Southeast Asian Ministers of Education Organization Regional Open Learning Centre, Ministry of Education and Culture).

This research uses a positivist research paradigm (classical), using a quantitative approach and are explanative. Data collection methods used in this study is a survey that is by using an online questionnaire which was facilitated by Google Docs. Distributed to respondents in the network via a mailing list SEAMOLEC SEAMEO staff. The study population was 70 peoples all of whom are employees of the SEAMEO SEAMOLEC, because this research is census type research where every member of the study population will be sampled. Data analysis used is a multivariate data analysis using Path Analysis. Data obtained from field surveys were then analyzed using statistical methods with the help of SPSS software (Statistical Program for Social Science) version 17.0.

Empirical findings indicate that in order to improve employee performance, the SEAMEO SEAMOLEC need to consider the factors that affect employee performance, such as organizational culture and leadership style, because by knowing the influence of these relationships can be used as a reference for designing strategies to improve employee performance."

"Area studies, including Asian and Southeast Asian studies, in the post-Cold War era have been facing an epochal challenge that is rooted in two conditions: on the one hand, the end of the Cold War and the fading geopolitical rationale, and on the other, the emergence of the technology-driven transformation of the global economy and society. The consequences thus far are paradoxical: 1) While the technology-led transformation needs a workforce with critical and innovative abilities, higher education becomes more hyper-utilitarian; 2) While the transformation instigates increasing diversity of identities in global cultures, many countries thrive for STEM education at the expense of learning languages and cultures, including area studies which are essential for diversity. Southeast Asian studies programs need to change in response to these new conditions. These changing conditions and paradoxes, nevertheless, take different forms and degrees in the American, European and Asian academies, thanks to their different histories of higher education. The prospects for Southeast Asian Studies in these various academies are likely to be different too. "
