"This paper describes the
case study of Semanggi intersection in Jakarta, a dynamic model of emission
reduction in the land transportation sector. The urban transportation system is
a complex system with multiple variables, feedback loops, and is influenced by
social, economic and environmental factors. The proposed model consists of two
submodels: Vehicle Fleet and Emission Calculation. The model runs in
Powersim Studio software using data from the Indonesia Japan Economic
Partnership Agreement, and the Traffic
Management Centre of the Indonesian National Police. The test was conducted by developing two scenarios:
Business As Usual and Intention. The estimated results to be
obtained using the first scenario in 2021 should be 1,113,398 units, while the
second scenario is estimated to produce 850,733 units. We hypothesize that the
Intentional Approach will have a more significant impact than the Technical
Approach, which requires more investment. The Intentional Approach is designed to improve the intention of
private car users to switch to public transportation. The Technical Approach to the emission measurement of every
vehicle in a certain area is the data of vehicle emission which are usually
taken to determine the current condition. This research will no doubt
have a positive impact on emission reduction in Jakarta."

"Vehicle dynamics and control provides a comprehensive coverage of vehicle control systems and the dynamic models used in the development of these control systems. The control system applications covered in the book include cruise control, adaptive cruise control, ABS, automated lane keeping, automated highway systems, yaw stability control, engine control, passive, active and semi-active suspensions, tire-road friction coefficient estimation, rollover prevention, and hybrid electric vehicles. In developing the dynamic model for each application, an effort is made to both keep the model simple enough for control system design but at the same time rich enough to capture the essential features of the dynamics. A special effort has been made to explain the several different tire models commonly used in literature and to interpret them physically.
In the second edition of the book, chapters on roll dynamics, rollover prevention and hybrid electric vehicles have been added, and the chapter on electronic stability control has been enhanced."

Air is an inseparable component of the environment, one of the main threats in an effort to maintain the ideal condition of the air is air pollution. Based on air quality data, motorized vehicles that produce exhaust emissions are the main cause of air pollution problems in DKI Jakarta. There are several environmental law instruments that can be applied as an effort to control air pollution, especially to curb vehicular emissions from motorized vehicles. In the context of DKI Jakarta, the Provincial Government effort to control air pollution are regulated through Air Pollution Action Plan and Strategy. Several air pollution control policies that have been implemented by the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government are the Odd-Even, Emission Checking and Low Emission Zone policies. Although several of these policies have been implemented, in reality each of these policies has its own weaknesses that can threaten the effectiveness and efficiency of implementing these policies in the long term. This study will examine the air pollution control policies that have been implemented by the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government to reduce vehicular emissions and describe the potential, concepts, and instrumen interactions of Road Pricing policies that DKI Jakarta Provincial Government needs to pay attention as an alternative instrument to overcome road congestion and improve DKI Jakarta's air quality."

"Most vehicles run on fossil fuels, and this presents a major emissions problem as demand for fuel continues to increase. Alternative Fuels and Advanced Vehicle Technologies gives an overview of key developments in advanced fuels and vehicle technologies to improve the energy efficiency and environmental impact of the automotive sector.
Part I considers the role of alternative fuels such as electricity, alcohol, and hydrogen fuel cells, as well as advanced additives and oils, in environmentally sustainable transport. Part II explores methods of revising engine and vehicle design to improve environmental performance and fuel economy. It contains chapters on improvements in design, aerodynamics, combustion, and transmission. Finally, Part III outlines developments in electric and hybrid vehicle technologies, and provides an overview of the benefits and limitations of these vehicles in terms of their environmental impact, safety, cost, and design practicalities.
Alternative Fuels and Advanced Vehicle Technologies is a standard reference for professionals, engineers, and researchers in the automotive sector, as well as vehicle manufacturers, fuel system developers, and academics with an interest in this field."
