"[ABSTRAKTesis ini meneliti tentang pemanfaatan penggunaan sumber elektronik dari onlinedatabase yang dilanggan Perpustakaan Universitas Indonesia oleh mahasiswasarjana UI. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui gambaran pemanfaatanonline database oleh mahasiswa sarjana UI, mengetahui kendala yang dihadapiselama penggunaan online database, dan juga melihat peran pustakawan dalammensosialisasikan dan membantu mahasiswa dalam pemanfaatan online database.Penelitian ini adalah penelitian kuantitatif dengan desain deskriptif danmenggunakan metode kuesioner dan wawancara mendalam sebagai metodepengumpulan data. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan pengetahuan mahasiswayang cukup tinggi tentang keberadaan online database, akan tetapi tingkatpenggunaannya masih rendah. Kendala terbesar yang ditemui responden adalahfasilitas internet UI yang lambat dan kurangnya pengetahuan dan kemampuandalam menelusur online database. Selain itu, peran pustakawan kurang dirasakanoleh responden sehingga masih banyak responden yang tidak menggunakanlayanan online database.

ABSTRACTThis thesis researching on the use of electronic resources of online databasessubscribed by the Library of the University of Indonesia by UI undergraduatestudents. The purpose of this study is to describe the use of online databases by UIundergraduate students, know the obstacles encountered during the use of onlinedatabases, and also to see the role of librarians in disseminating and assist studentsin the use of online databases. This research is descriptive quantitative researchdesign and using questionnaires and in-depth interviews as the method of datacollection. The results of this study indicate that students' knowledge of theexistence of a high enough online database, but the level of use is still low. Thebiggest obstacle is encountered respondent slow internet of UI?s facilities and alack of knowledge and skills in searching online databases.
