"Penelitian terdahulu memandang bahwa komunikasi internal memainkan peran paling penting dalam keterlibatan karyawan. Hal ini dikarenakan komunikasi dengan karyawan yang konsisten dan jujur dapat memastikan hubungan yang baik antara populasi kerja serta dapat meningkatkan produktivitas. Hasil survei keterlibatan karyawan Peruri selama 2017 - 2019, menunjukan prosentase keterlibatan karyawan berada di bawah rata-rata global, sehingga penelitian ini menjelaskan peran komunikasi internal Peruri dalam membangun employee engagement serta mengetahui keberhasilan perusahaan dalam membuat komunikasi internal sebagai bagian dari tanggung jawab pekerjaan dalam membangun employee engagement berdasarkan Teori Komunikasi Akomodasi. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode studi kasus serta wawancara pada level manajerial dan focus group discussion pada level staff sebagai metode pengumpulan data. Hasil penelitian ini adalah pemimpin memiliki peran yang kuat dalam komunikasi internal, perbedaan dari sifat pekerjaan berperan dalam keterlibatan karyawan, dan strategi konvergensi yang dilakukan bersifat parsial dan upward bagi karyawan pada level staff ketika berkomunikasi dengan atasan maupun dengan sesama staff pada generasi X serta downward pada level pimpinan. Sedangkan karyawan yang tergolong pada generasi X memilih strategi divergensi. Namun, strategi yang dilakukan oleh level pimpinan masih dirasa kurang bagi sebagian karyawan dalam membangun keterlibatannya karena masih adanya ketidakkonsistenan informasi yang disampaikan serta belum adanya transparansi terkait pemberian umpan balik kinerja karyawan.

Previous research found that internal communication had a significant role in employee engagement. It is because consistent and transparent communication of employees can ensure good relations between the work population and increase productivity. The result of the Peruri employee engagement survey during 2017-2019, shows that the percentage of employee engagement is below the global average, so this study explains the role of Peruri's internal communication in building employee engagement as well as knowing the company's achievement in creating internal communication as part of job responsibilities in building employee engagement based on Communication Accommodation Theory. This research uses case study methods and interviews at the managerial level and focus group discussion at the staff level as data collection methods. The results of these studies are leaders had a firm role in internal communication, differences in nature of work play a role in employee engagement, and the use of convergence strategy is partial and upward for the staff-level employee when communicating to superiors and fellow staff in generation X and downward in leadership level. Meanwhile, the generation X employee chooses a divergence strategy. However, the approach adopted by the leadership level is still lacking for some employees in building their involvement because there are still inconsistencies in the information conveyed and no transparency regarding the provision of employee performance feedback."
