"Perencanaan kapasitas merupakan salah satu bagian dari perencanaan dan pengendalian produksi yang memiliki peranan penting dalam dunia industry manufaktur. Perencanaan kapasitas merupakan proses penentuan kapasitas yang dibutuhkan oleh perusahaan manufaktur untuk memenuhi permintaan pelanggan. Tujuan dari perencanaan kapasitas ini adalah meminimalisasi perbedaan antara kapasitas yang dimiliki perusahaan dan permintaan konsumen terhadap produk dengan melakukan beberapa cara terhadap elemen-elemen kapasitas, antara lain worker, mesin, gudang, dan rekayasa (engineering) untuk menghindari terjadinya under-utilized resources dan unfulfilled customers. Selain itu, perencanaan kapasitas yang telah ditentukan memiliki critical impact yang cukup besar terhadap perusahaan, seperti struktur biaya produksi dan kebijakan inventori. Oleh karena itu perusahaan manufaktur memerlukan perencanaan kapasitas yang efektif dan efisien agar perusahaan mampu meningkatkan customer focus serta market share-nya yang akan berperan penting dalam long range competitive strategy perusahaan.
Pada penelitian ini akan dirancang suatu sistem perencanaan kapasitas menggunakan Microsoft Visual Basic dan Microsoft Access serta terintegrasi dengan penjadwalan induk produksi ( Master Production Scheduling ) dan lantai pengendalian produksi (Shop Floor Control ) sebagai bagian dari perencanaan dan pengendalian produksi. Microsoft Access berfungsi sebagai penyimpan (record) data historis perusahaan yang jumlah dan jenisnya sangat beraneka ragam yang kemudian informasi tersebut akan dimanfaatkan oleh user melalui penggunaan program yang dibentuk dengan bahasa pemrograman Microsoft Visual Basic.
Hasil dari perancangan sistem ini adalah sebuah program yang mampu melakukan perhitungan perencanaan kapasitas secara efisien dan efektif serta memberikan informasi berupa rekomendasi terbaik yang dapat diambil oleh user. Bagian akhir dari penelitian ini adalah melakukan verifikasi dan validasi program. Tujuan utama dari proses verifikasi dan validasi program ini adalah untuk menemukan kekurangan dalam sebuah sistem yang telah dibuat sehingga dapat dilakukan perbaikan dan memperkirakan apakah sistem berguna sesuai spesifikasi dan dapat digunakan dalam situasi operasional.

Capacity planning has an important role in manufacturing company as a part of production planning and controlling. It is defined as a capacity planning process that company require to meet customer demand. The purpose of capacity planning is to minimize distinction between company's capacity and customer demand through doing some method to these capacity elements; worker, machine, warehouse, and engineering in order to keep away from under-utilized resources and unfulfilled customers. Beside that, capacity planning has a critical impact to company, like production cost and inventory policy. Therefore, all manufacturing company need effective and efficient capacity planning absolutely to strengthen their customer focus and market share that lead to company long range competitive strategy.
This research will be conducted to design a capacity planning system using Microsoft Visual Basic and Microsoft Access and also integrated witihin Master Production Scheduling and Shop Floor Control as production planning and controlling substance. Microsoft Access functioned as recorder for an enormous company's historical data and this information will be used by user utilize a program based Microsoft Visual Basic.
The result for this system design is a program that able to calculate some function in capacity planning efficiently and effectively. This program also provide an information for user in a best recommendation. The end of this research is accomplishing verification and validation process for program. The main objective from this verification and validation process is to find a weakness in that designed system so that some improvements can be done. Beside that verification and validation process also assess whether system is useful appropriate to its spesification and can be used in operational situation.

"We propose an analysis of reverse link CDMA multispot beam stratospheric platforms (SPF) in this paper. The SPF is
currently proposed as a novel wireless technology for the development of the next generation fixed and mobile
communications. The geometry of this technology is different from that of the terrestrial but rather similar to the
satellite based cellular system. However, evaluation on the CDMA system capacity of this technology has not been
much reported. This paper addresses all possible multiple access interference analyses including the effects of channel
fading and shadowing in order to evaluate the system capacity. Single SPF and multiple SPF model are evaluated under
perfect power control and imperfect power control. The results indicate that in SPF systems the reverse link CDMA
capacity is significantly reduced because of the power control imperfections. Moreover, in multiple SPF model the
interference caused by the users in overlapped region is not trivial. We found that because of this problem the capacity
is reduced for both speech and real-time data applications compared with the single SPF model even though the
assumption of perfect power control can be made. In order to improve the system capacity we proposed two methods,
first is to increase the minimum elevation angle definition for each platform and the second is to employ an adaptive
antenna."

"Finding and retaining the right talent is an important issue for organizations worldwide. The definition of what is the right talent for the organization should be created first to make sure we recruit the right people and then the next question is what should be done after the right talent has been recruited? Skills Management Systems try to answer these questions by providing skills library and skills inventory for the organizations, thus the gap analysis between the available skills and ‘missing’ skills for the organization can be produced. This analysis accompanied with the prediction of skills demands in the future is a good base to develop a hiring policy and also development plans for the current employees. This paper describes the implementation of Skills Management System in a world-class research and development organization."
