"ABSTRAKenelitian ini membahas representasi penolakan terhadap homoseksual di Rusia dengan contoh kasus persekusi yang terjadi di Chechnya. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian kualitatif, menggunakan metode studi kasus untuk membuktikan adanya representasi yang berbeda dari kedua media yang diteliti yaitu РИА НОВОСТИ / RIA NOVOSTI dan Cable News Network / CNN. Penelitian ini menggunakan teori Representasi yang dikemukakan oleh Stuart Hall dalam buku Representation: Cultural Representations and Signifying Practices (1997). Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengemukakan adanya perbedaan representasi dari kedua media dalam memberitakan bentuk penolakan terhadap pelaku homoseksual di Chechnya. Hasil penelitian ini membuktikan bahwa РИА НОВОСТИ / RIA NOVOSTI mendukung pemerintah Rusia dengan menyangkal adanya tindakan kekerasan yang dilakukan oleh pemerintah Rusia terhadap pelaku homoseksual, sementara pemberitaan yang dilakukan oleh Cable News Network / CNN sesuai dengan keadaan yang sebenarnya yaitu adanya bentuk persekusi terhadap pelaku homoseksual di Chechnya.

ABSTRACT

This research describes the representation of the rejection of homosexuals in Russia with examples of the persecution cases in Chechnya. This research is a qualitative study and uses the case study method to prove that there exist two different representations by PNA BOBOCTN/ RIA NOVOSTI and Cable News Network/CNN. This research uses Stuart Halls Representation theory from his book Representation: Cultural Representations and Signifying Practices (1997). This research aims to reveal different representations from both medias in broadcasting homosexual rejection news in Chechnya. The results of this research prove that PNA HOBOCTN RIA NOVOSTI supports the Russian government by denying any acts of violence committed by the Russian government against homosexual perpetrators, while the Cable News Network/CNN factually describes the persecution of homosexuals in Chechnya."

The competition of Television Broadcasting Industry in Indonesia has an oligopoly system that illustrates the dominancy of several market participants. In this regard, the MNC Group has become the corporation that has the highest audience share and advertising share in the television broadcasting industry in Indonesia. This study analyzes how the MNC Group managed to reach the highest level of audience share in Indonesia. The author analyzes by using value chain model, consisted of content creation or acquisition, packaging or aggregating, scheduling, distribution platform or conduit, and user interface to show the effectiveness of strategic management formulation that results in a high level of audience share. The high level of audience share has an impact on MNC Group revenues through advertising share."
