Population growth can lead to increased settlement areas. Problems in this study were increasing human activity in settlement development due to its proximity to Malang City, growth resulting in rapid land conversion, and Batu City was located upstream of the Brantas DAS and functions as a water catchment area. This study aimed to analyze the carrying capacity of the environment, social, economy, and develop the concept of settlement sustainable. The method used was geographic information systems method, statistical methods, and AHP. The results were the area of existing settlements that were unsuitable with land capability was greater than that which was suitable and water availability was currently a surplus. Analysis of social carrying capacity on livability is feasible, and the capacity to accommodate the current population has exceeded the population threshold. Batu District is an area with high economic and road density. In conclusion, developing the concept of sustainable settlements, that land capability was the most important to consider in developing settlement areas."

Quantile–Based Flooring Capping, 2. K–Nearest Neighbor, 3. Adaptive Synthetic (ADASYN), dan 4. Menerapkan model Least Absolute Shrinkage and Selection Operator (LASSO) pada regresi logistik.

The capital city plays an important role in portraying how much political, cultural and economic power a country has. If the capital city has many unresolved problems, these problems can become factors that influence the country to move its capital city. After being traced, there are many countries that have moved their capital cities, including Indonesia. The purpose of this study is to model and analyze the factors that influence countries in the world to move its capital city with data containing problems: 1. Outliers, 2. Missing values, 3. Imbalanced data, 4. Multicollinearity. If the data contains these problems, the model formed becomes unrepresentative and difficult to interpret. Therefore, the methods that can be used to handle these 4 (four) problems, respectively: 1. Quantile-Based Flooring Capping, 2. K-Nearest Neighbor, 3. Adaptive Synthetic (ADASYN), and 4. Applying the Least Absolute Shrinkage and Selection Operator (LASSO) model in logistic regression. The results showed that the factors that influence a country to move its capital city are population size in the capital city, country population, area (km2), air pollution level (mg/m3), Global Entrepreneurship Index (GEI), Political Stability and No Violence/Terrorism Index, Government Effectiveness Index, Country Age, government system, Income Category, and whether a country is an archipelago or not. While the factors that did not enter the model, namely the Gross Domestic Product (GDP), Logistic Performance Index (LPI) Score, Regulatory Quality Index, and E-Government Development Index were predictors that experienced multicollinearity, so the LASSO model in logistic regression successfully shrinks these predictors to 0. The final Least Absolute Shrinkage and Selection Operator (LASSO) model in logistic regression obtained is g(x) = 0,3399 – 0,8019 POP_CITY + 3,5925 POP_COUNTRY + 0,3406 AREA – 0,0156 AIRPOL + 0,0679 GEI + 0,8351 PS_AVT – 0,5682 GOV_EFFECT – 1,8643 AGE – 0,7043 SYSTEM_A – 1,4408 SYSTEM_B – 0,7036 INCOME_A – 0,5272 INCOME_B – 3,740"

The depletion of clean water availability that is stored in the earth's aquifers, the dryness of the surface due to high precipitation owing to global warming, and the increasing demand for water itself are a series of water crises that are currently being experienced. One of the crisis triggers was the lack of natural infrastructure capable of processing/managing the water cycle, namely forests. This architectural design work is a speculative solution in responding to this issue with the biomimicry method, which is imitating a system for managing water in forests that are assumed to lose its existence in the future due to the ever-increasing rate of deforestation. The study was carried out starting from understanding the structure and components of the forest, anatomy, and morphology of plants as a specific system from the organism to the cell scale. Then reconstruct the components, which have a role in water management, into a mechanical form that seems to be produced by human-made technology. The mechanical forms are arranged in a tectonic composition to form a module system that works like components in a forest. ‘Planting’ the module in the middle of the city is an effort to convey a message of human greed, who is in power, in exploiting nature, accepting the impact of his actions and re-seeing the potential of nature as a solution presented. The new water system, a product of reconstruction, intervenes in urban spaces spatially and functionally in order to create a water cycle that is able to accommodate urban water needs."
