"Skripsi ini menganalisis usaha anak memperoleh informasi untuk membangun kognisi melalui pemicu cerita Sahabat Baik. Tujuannya adalah mengidentifikasi perkembangan kognisi yang terjadi pada anak umur 51 bulan dan mendeskripsikan cara-cara yang digunakan anak umur 51 bulan untuk mengembangkan kognisi dengan pemicu cerita Sahabat Baik. Anak diceritakan Sahabat Baik sebanyak tiga kali. Dari penelitian ini diperoleh perkembangan kognisi anak dari penceritaan pertama sampai penceritaan ketiga. Anak mengembangkan kognisi tersebut dengan menggunakan kalimat interogatif dan kalimat deklaratif.

Abstract
This thesis analyzes the child's efforts to obtain information to build up the cognition through Sahabat Baik story as the trigger medium. The purpose of this research is to identify the development of the cognition that occurs in a child aged 51 months and to describe the ways the child develops the cognition through Sahabat Baik story as its trigger medium. The story of Sahabat Baik is told to the child three times. The result of this study shows the cognition development of the child from the first telling to the third telling. The child develops the cognition by using the interrogative phrase and declarative sentences."

"Setiap tenaga kerja membawa kemampuan yang unik ke pasar tenaga kerja, tetapi kemampuan tersebut mungkin telah terbentuk sejak masa kecil. Maka, penguasaan kemampuan kognitif pada masa kecil dianggap berkontribusi dalam mencapai penghasilan yang lebih tinggi di masa depan. Anak-anak Indonesia, akan tetapi, mencetak performa yang relatif rendah dalam berbagai penilaian yang terstandardisasi. Padahal, sebagian besar anak-anak tersebut akan menjadi tenaga kerja nasional di masa depan. Penelitian ini mengangkat isu tersebut dengan menguji pengaruh kemampuan kognitif masa kecil terhadap pendapatan tenaga kerja di Indonesia, dengan menggunakan data dari IFLS3 dan IFLS5 pada model seleksi Heckman.
Studi menemukan inteligensi pada masa kecil memiliki pengaruh positif dan signifikan secara statistik terhadap pendapatan. Selain itu, besar efeknya agak lebih tinggi daripada besarnya efek inteligensi saat dewasa terhadap pendapatan. Kemampuan matematika masa kecil juga berpengaruh, meski terbatas, untuk meningkatkan kesempatan memperoleh pendapatan karena bekerja. Oleh sebab itu, studi ini dapat menyimpulkan bahwa kemampuan kognitif masa kecil dapat berkontribusi pada kesuksesan masa depan di pasar tenaga kerja.

Every workforce brings a unique set of abilities to the labor market, but those abilities may have emerged ever since childhood. Mastery of cognitive ability at childhood, thus, has been considered to contribute to achieving higher earnings in the future. Indonesia rsquo s children, however, score a relatively low performance in various standardized assessments. Whereas, a majority of the children will become the nations workforce of the future. This study takes up the issue by examining the effect of childhood cognitive ability on earnings of workforces in Indonesia, using data from IFLS3 and IFLS5 on the Heckman selection model.
The study finds childhood general intellect has a statistically significant and positive effect on earnings. Furthermore, its effect magnitude is slightly higher than the magnitude of the effect of adulthood general intellect on earnings. Childhood mathematics ability also contributes, yet limited, to increase the chances of obtaining earnings because of working, while adulthood mathematics ability does not. Therefore, the study may infer that childhood cognitive ability contributes to future success in the labor market.
