"Heterosexuality is a largely ‘silent’ set of practices and identities – it is assumed to be everywhere and yet often remains unnamed and unexplored. Despite recent changes in the theoretical understanding and representation of sexuality, heterosexuality continues to be socially normative.Forging a new agenda for the study of heterosexuality, this in-depth volume, the first research monograph to focus on heterosexuality and society, presents an empirical study of the construction, negotiation and enactment of heterosexual sexuality. "Skripsi ini membahas pengaruh institutionalized heterosexuality terhadap karakter-karakter termarginalisasi di Glee, serta strategi-strategi yang digunakan oleh karakter-karakter tersebut untuk bertahan dan mensubversi nilai-nilai tersebut. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian kualitatif dengan analisis tekstual yang berfokus pada perkembangan karakter perempuan dan karakter non-heteroseksual. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa Glee menampilkan institutionalized heterosexuality sebagai nilai-nilai yang represif, kuat, dan kasar. Kemudian, Glee mempromosikan penerimaan dan penghargaan diri sebagai sebuah alternatif alih-alih mematuhi nilai-nilai institutionalized heterosexuality. Melalui dua poin tersebut, Glee mensubversi institutionalized heterosexuality.

This mini thesis discussed the influence of institutionalized heterosexuality to the marginalized characters in Glee and the strategies used by the characters to survive and subvert the norms. This is a qualitative textual analysis research which focused on the character development of the female and the non-heterosexuals.

This research found that Glee portrays institutionalized heterosexuality as repressive, powerful, and violent norms. Moreover, Glee promotes the self-acceptance and self-embracing as the alternative instead of conforming the institutionalized heterosexuality. Through these two points Glee subverts the institutionalized heterosexuality."

"Sebagai salah satu penulis drama paling terkenal dalam sejarah, Shakespeare telah menghasilkan berbagai karya yang kerap dibaca dan diadaptasi oleh banyak orang. Produksi adaptasi Shakespeare bervariasi tergantung niat pengadaptasi, dan hasilnya bisa berbeda dari teks sumber yang digunakan. Salah satu adaptasi film Shakespeare yang cukup radikal adalah A Midsummer Night's Dream (2016) karya Russell T. Davies. Film ini memasukkan fasisme ke dalam narasinya dan menghadirkan kisah cinta dan pernikahan antara laki-laki dan perempuan dengan tambahan unsur homoseksualitas di bawah pemerintahan yang otoriter. Artikel ini mengkaji signifikansi fasisme dalam film dan bagaimana pasangan heteroseksual dan homoseksual digambarkan dalam kaitannya dengan fasisme. Dengan mengacu pada teori adaptasi dan konsep seksualitas, penulis berpendapat bahwa fasisme adalah metafora dari sistem opresif yang masih ada pada masyarakat dewasa ini. Sistem ini mempertahankan heteronormativitas melalui pasangan heteroseksual yang ditampilkan dalam film. Namun, homoseksualitas dihadirkan sebagai kekuatan yang dapat menumbangkan fasisme. .As one of the most celebrated playwrights in history, Shakespeare’s works have been read and adapted every so often. The production of Shakespearean adaptation varies depending on the adapter’s intentions, and the end product may differ from the source text to an extent. One radical film adaptation is A Midsummer Night's Dream (2016) by Russell T. Davies. This film incorporates fascism into its narrative and presents the story of love and marriage between men and women with the addition of homosexuality under an authoritarian government. The article examines the significance of fascism in the film and how heterosexual and homosexual couples are portrayed in relation to it. By referring to the theory of adaptation and the concept of sexuality, the author argues that fascism is a metaphor for an oppressive system that persists in many societies today. It preserves heteronormativity through heterosexual couples shown in the film. However, homosexuality is presented as a force that can subvert fascist power, showing how the film advocates LGBT rights."
