"The language of young people is central in sociolinguistic research, as it is seen to be innovative and a primary source of knowledge about linguistic change and the role of language. This volume brings together a team of leading scholars to explore and compare linguistic practices of young people in multilingual urban spaces, with analyses ranging from grammar to ideology. It includes fascinating examples from cities in Europe, Africa, Canada and the US to demonstrate how young people express their identities through language, for example in hip-hop lyrics and new social media. This is the first book to cover the topic from a globally diverse perspective, and it investigates how linguistic practices across different communities intersect with age, ethnicity, gender and class. In doing so it shows commonalities and differences in how young people experience, act and relate to the contemporary social, cultural and linguistic complexity of the twenty-first century."

The phenomenon of domestication in urban spaces refers to the adaptation and use of urban public spaces to meet domestic needs, such as childcare. In densely populated residential areas, traditional domestic spaces often fall short of meeting the needs for childcare activities. Consequently, mothers in urban areas utilize informal public spaces like streets, alleys, or empty spaces between densely packed houses as extensions of their domestic space. The methodology used in this thesis includes field observations, interviews with various sources, and spatial analysis to understand how mothers and children adapt to and interact with urban public spaces. The research findings indicate that childcare practices in urban public spaces occur due to the blurring of boundaries between public and private spaces in the city. The quality of urban spaces, mechanisms of domestication in urban areas, and patterns of informal public space usage are some aspects that can influence childcare practices in urban public spaces. This research contributes to the understanding of how public spaces can function as extensions of domestic spaces and its implications for more inclusive and family-friendly urban design and planning."

Young marriage da’wa on Instagram involved da’wa accounts @gerakannikahmuda and young married celebgram couples like @alvin_411, @larissachou, @natta_reza, and @wardahmaulina_ who have thousands and millions followers. This research described how muslim youth religious identity is constructed through digital da’wa narration in social media da’wa accounts like @gerakannikahmuda and young married couples as religious influencers. The methode used in this research is qualitative method using digital ethnography with cultural studies approach to understand how digital da’wa and muslim youth identity construction are related. The research finds that there are two strategies used by @gerakannikahmuda in their da’wa that shows digital religion practices. Those strategies are building fear and romanticizing young marriage. Meanwhile, urban muslim youth religious identity is constructed through piety narration that condemn courthsip and encourage young marriage, islamization on women’s clothing style, and the domestication of women. Those are being negotiated by young married couples and da’wa audiences so the interpretation is vary: either affirming or disavowing the da’wa."

"Spirituality is, too often, subsumed under the heading of religion and treated as much the same kind of thing. Yet spirituality extends far beyond the spaces of religion. The spiritual makes geography strange, challenging the relationship between the known and the unknown, between the real and the ideal, and prompting exciting possibilities for charting the ineffable spaces of the divine which lie somehow beyond geography. In setting itself that task, this book pushes the boundaries of geographies of religion to bring into direct focus questions of spirituality. By seeing religion through the lens of practice rather than as a set of beliefs, geographies of religion can be interpreted much more widely, bringing a whole range of other spiritual practices and spaces to light. The book is split into three sections, each contextualised with an editors introduction, to explore the spaces of spiritual practice, the spiritual production of space, and spiritual transformations. This book intends to open to up new questions and approaches through the theme of spirituality, pushing the boundaries on current topics and introducing innovative new ideas, including esoteric or radical spiritual practices. This landmark book not only captures a significant moment in geographies of spirituality, but acts as a catalyst for future work."
