"Apoteker memegang peranan penting dalam pekerjaan dan praktik kefarmasian. Apoteker yang profesional dituntut memiliki seluruh kompetensi sesuai dengan standar kompetensi apoteker Indonesia, sehingga mampu menjalankan peran dan memberikan pelayanan kefarmasian sesuai dengan ketentuan yang berlaku. Oleh karena itu, calon apoteker perlu menjalankan kegiatan Praktik Kerja Profesi Apoteker (PKPA) untuk meningkatkan kompetensi, pemahaman dan pengalaman yang cukup sebelum menjalani pekerjaan kefarmasian yang sesungguhnya. Praktik Kerja Profesi Apoteker (PKPA) dilaksanakan di PT Global Onkolab Farma, Badan Pengawas Obat dan Makanan (BPOM), dan Apotek Kimia Farma 46 Rawa Badak Periode Bulan Januari – Mei 2022. Calon apoteker diharapkan mampu memperoleh wawasan, pengetahuan, keterampilan, dan pengalaman yang sesuai dari kegiatan praktik kerja yang telah dilaksanakan untuk melakukan pekerjaan kefarmasian.

Professional pharmacists are required to have all competencies in accordance with Indonesian pharmacist competency standards, to be able to carry out their roles and provide pharmaceutical services in accordance with applicable regulations. Dalam mempersiapkan calon apoteker yang profesional untuk melakukan pekerjaan kefarmasian, maka dilakukan pelatihan secara langsung yaitu Praktik Kerja Profesi Apoteker (PKPA). Tujuan dari pelatihan ini supaya calon apoteker dapat memahami fungsi, peran, dan tanggung jawab apoteker di industri farmasi, distributor farmasi, dan fasilitas pelayanan kefarmasian seperti apotek.
