"Multiple alter account merupakan sebuah fenomena yang ditemukan dalam sosial media Instagram dimana satu individu dapat memiliki lebih dari satu akun sosial media yang masing-masing dari akun tersebut memiliki karakteristik yang berbeda-beda. Penelitianpenelitian sebelumnya cenderung lebih menjelaskan keberadaan akun alter sebagai saluran ekspresi alter ego dari individu dan berperan sebagai panggung belakang dalam perspektif dramaturgi, namun kurang menjelaskan mengenai proses pembentukkan identitas yang terjadi melalui interaksi dalam multiple alter account. Penelitian ini berusaha menggambarkan dinamika dramaturgi yang ditemukan dalam penggunaan multiple alter account oleh remaja generasi Z, dimana multiple alter account tersebut memberikan panggung untuk menyusun narasi identitas diri yang jamak pada remaja generasi Z. Penelitian ini menemukan bahwa dalam penggunaan multiple alter account, dramaturgi masih ditemukan dalam upaya para remaja generasi Z dalam membentuk identitas diri namun dengan batasan panggung yang kabur dan juga adanya proses filterisasi audiens yang menjadi ciri khas fenomena ini. Identitas yang ditemukan pun jamak jumlahnya dan dapat dibagi ke dalam dua wujud yaitu multiple identities dan juga blended identity.

Multiple alter accounts is a phenomenon found in Instagram where one individual can have more than one Instagram account, each of which has different characteristics. Previous studies tend to explain the existence of alter accounts as channels of alter ego expressions within the dramaturgy framework, but doesn’t explain about the process of identity construction that occurs through interactions in multiple alter accounts. This study attemps to discuss the dynamic dramaturgical process found in the use of multiple alter accounts by Gen Z youth, in which it presents multiple stages for these youths to constructs multiple narratives on their own identity. This study found that in the use of multiple alter accounts, dramaturgy is still found in the efforts of Gen Z youth in forming their own identity but with blurred stage boundaries and also audience filtering process that characterizes this phenomenon. The identites found on the Gen Z youth can be divided into two forms, which are multiple identities and blended identities."
