ABSTRACTThis study is about the strategy used by Der Spiegel rsquo s journalist on producing the news about Egypt rsquo s Revolution 2011 This reasearch uses qualitative method and applies critical discourse studies approach The data is taken from Der Spiegel edition 5 2011 and 6 2011 Researcher uses the critical discourse studies theory by van Dijk 2008 The result of the research shows that Der Spiegel is unbalance This bias can be observed through the way the journalist represent the actor involved on the discourse based on their experiences and knowledges which build their social cognition The journalist tends to emphasize the positive descriptions of the actors belong to the same group America Germany Mubarak ElBaradei and Israel and the negative descriptions of the actor belongs to the different group Muslimbrother "
