"This book addresses a wide range of issues relating to the theoretical substantiation of the necessity of Industry 4.0, the development of the methodological tools for its analysis and evaluation, and practical solutions for effectively managing this process. It particularly focuses on solving the problem of optimizing the development of Industry 4.0 in the context of knowledge economy formation. The book presents the authors' approach to studying the process of Industry 4.0 formation in connection with knowledge economy, and approach that allows the process to be studied in connection with the existing socio-economic and technological conditions. "This book is to presents and evaluates a way of modelling and optimizing nonlinear RFID Network Planning (RNP) problems using artificial intelligence techniques. It uses Artificial Neural Network models (ANN) to bind together the computational artificial intelligence algorithm with knowledge representation an efficient artificial intelligence paradigm to model and optimize RFID networks.
This effort leads to proposing a novel artificial intelligence algorithm which has been named hybrid artificial intelligence optimization technique to perform optimization of RNP as a hard learning problem. This hybrid optimization technique consists of two different optimization phases. First phase is optimizing RNP by Redundant Antenna Elimination (RAE) algorithm and the second phase which completes RNP optimization process is Ring Probabilistic Logic Neural Networks (RPLNN).
The hybrid paradigm is explored using a flexible manufacturing system (FMS) and the results are compared with well-known evolutionary optimization technique namely Genetic Algorithm (GA) to demonstrate the feasibility of the proposed architecture successfully."

"ABSTRACT
Interconnection among systems requires the interaction between different technologies, such as radio frequency identifier, sensors, processing in the cloud and cyber physical systems. The use of these technologies entails transforming the way operations management is carried out within companies, with potential for application in several helds of activity. This article aims to identify the contribution of the adoption of Industry 4.0 technologies for companies operation management (OM). Based on a survey with 38 successful cases of Industry 4.0 implementation, the results achieved the main benefits of the use of these technologies for OM. These results indicate that Industry 4.0s contributions are more concentrated in areas such as Technology management and Just in time manufacturing. Further, the maturity level of the successful cases analyzed is still incipient, indicating a potential for increasing productivity after the application of these technologies."

"ABSTRAK
Pada proses produksi lensa kontak yang memiliki berbagai tahap dan mesin,
sering kali dialami kesulitan dalam mencari dengan efektif faktor krusial yang
mempengaruhi rendahnya yield. Penelitian ini membahas mengenai peningkatan
yield dengan menggunakan kerangka data mining, yang terdiri dari k-means
clustering, uji Kruskal-Wallis, dan decision tree. K-means clustering digunakan
untuk menentukan cutting point antara manufacturing order yang baik dengan
yang buruk, sedangkan uji Kruskal-Wallis digunakan untuk mencari tahap
produksi yang bermasalah dan menyebabkan rendahnya yield. Kemudian, hasil
decision tree akan mengklasifikasi akar penyebab rendahnya yield sehingga
ditemukan bahwa faktor yang paling berpengaruh adalah mesin Stop Gap dan
Supertortoise 2 pada tahap produksi Primary Packaging. Peningkatan yield dapat
dilakukan dengan melakukan perbaikan performa komponen sealing pada mesin
Stop Gap serta komponen laser printer dan foil allignment pada mesin
Supertortoise 2.

ABSTRACT
In the manufacturing process of contact lenses which contains multiple process
stages and machines, it is not easy to determine effectively the possible root
causes of low yield. This study aims to enhance yield in contact lens
manufacturing industy using data mining framework, which consists of k-means
clustering, Kruskal-Wallis test, and decision tree. K-means clustering was applied
to determine the cutting point between good batch of manufacturing order and bad
batch of manufacturing order, while Kruskal-Wallis test was applied to identify
the production process stages that causing low yield. Then, the decision tree result
will classify the root cause of low yield and it was found that the most critical
factors were Stop Gap and Supertortoise 2 machine in Primary Packaging process
stage. Yield enhancement can be gained by improving the performance of sealing
component in Stop Gap machine and the performance of laser printer and foil
allignment components in Supertortoise 2 machine."

"ABSTRAK
Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk menganalisis tingkat efisiensi teknis perusahaan
pada industri penyamakan kulit Indonesia (ISIC5 32312). Penelitian ini
menggunakan unbalanced panel data tingkat perusahaan pada industri
penyamakan kulit dari tahun 2000 sampai 2012. Untuk mengukur tingkat
efisiensi teknis perusahaan, penelitian ini menggunakan metode Stochastic
Frontier Approach (SFA). Penelitian ini menemukan bahwa ukuran perusahaan
dan perusahaan yang berlokasi di Provinsi Jawa Barat memiliki pengaruh positif
dan signifikan terhadap tingkat efisiensi teknis perusahaan. Hasil estimasi juga
mengindikasikan bahwa penggunaan bahan baku impor dan penambahan jumlah
tenaga kerja tidak berpengaruh positif terhadap peningkatan efisiensi teknis
perusahaan.

ABSTRACT
This study was conducted to analyze the level of technical efficiency of firms in
the Indonesia tanners industry (ISIC5 32312). This study uses unbalanced panel of
firm-level data on the tanning industry from 2000 to 2012. To measure the
technical efficiency of the firm's, this study using Stochastic Frontier Approach
(SFA). This research finds that the size of companies and companies located in
the province of West Java has a positive and significant impact on the level of
firm technical efficiency. The estimation results also indicate that the use of
imported raw materials and increase the number of non-production labor is not
give a positive impact on the firm technical efficiency."

"Salah satu aktivitas yang memegang peranan penting dalam menjamin kualitas packaging material yang akan dipakai pada proses produksi adalah aktivitas inspeksi. Dalam proses inspeksi selalu muncul situasi yang dinamis. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk melakukan perancangan simulasi inspection plan aktivitas packaging material. Pemodelan simulasi dilakukan menggunakan software Plant Simulation. Model simulasi yang dibuat yaitu model simulasi dengan kondisi yang berjalan saat ini serta model dengan penentuan sampel menggunakan metode MIL STD 1916. Hasil penelitian ini adalah model dengan penentuan sampel yang berjalan saat ini, 1096 sampel bisa diselesaikan dengan 5 orang inspektor yang bekerja 1 shift. Sedangkan dengan penentuan sampel MIL STD 1916, 2120 sampel bisa diselesaikan dengan 6 orang inspektor yang bekerja 3 shift setiap hari.

One of the main activity that has important impact to make sure packaging materials quality that would be used in production process is inspection activity. In the inspection process always appear dynamic situation. This study was conducted to simulate the design of packaging material inspection plan activity. Simulation modeling performed using the Plant Simulation software. The simulation model that created is a simulation model using current conditions and model with sample size using MIL STD 1916 method. Results of this study was to define model using the sample size current condition, 1096 samples could be completed by 5 inspectors who work one shift. While using the sample size MIL STD 1916 method, 2120 samples could be completed by 6 inspectors who work 3 shifts per day.
