"Melalui penelitian ini, penulis ingin melihat pengaruh identifikasi dan ancaman terhadap identitas sosial, terutama yang mengarah pada diri individu, dalam pengambilan keputusan pada kondisi dilema sosial melalui permainan prisoner`s dilemma. Berdasarkan penjelasan pada teori identitas sosial dan teori mengenai ancaman terhadap identitas sosial, penulis menduga bahwa tingkat identifikasi dan kehadiran ancaman identitas sosial yang mengarah pada diri individu akan mempengaruhi pengambilan keputusan partisipan ketika dihadapkan pada kondisi dilema sosial, yaitu apakah partisipan akan lebih kooperatif atau non-kooperatif. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode eksperimental, dengan desain within-subject 2 (Identifikasi: Tinggi vs rendah) X 3 (Ancaman terhadap identitas sosial: prototypical vs kategorisasi vs kontrol). Hasil analisis dari penelitian yang dilakukan tidak menunjukan dukungan terhadap dugaan tersebut χ (1, N = 165) = 1.610, p > 0.05. Dengan demikian, tidak ada pengaruh yang signifikan dari tingkat identifikasi dan ancaman terhadap identitas sosial pada pengambilan keputusan dalam kondisi dilema sosial.

Within this research, author wanted to study about identification level and social identity threat, especially which is directed on individual self, on decision making in social dilema condition through prisoner`s dilema game. Based on social identity theory and social identity threat theory, author predicted that identification level and social identity threat which is directed on individual self will influence decision making process on participant when they were being on social dilemma condition, whether they will be more cooperative or noncooperative. This research used experimental method, within subject design 2 (Identification: High vs low) X 3 (Social identity threat: prototypical vs categorization vs control). Our results of analysis from this research showed that there were no supportive finding to our hypotheses χ (1, N = 165) = 1.610, p > 0.05. This finding concludes that there is no significant effect from identification level and social identity threat on decision making process in social dilemma condition."

"ABSTRAKTesis ini membahas strategi intervensi sosial dalam pengembangan potensipemuda di Purna Caraka Muda (PCMI) DKI Jakarta. Pemuda yang tergabungdalam organisasi ini telah memiliki potensi dasar, namun jika tidak dikembangkandan berhenti setelah program tanpa ada keberlanjutan maka perkembangan potensidalam diri pemuda tidak akan maksimal. Dalam upaya pengembangan potensitersebut dilakukan berbagai strategi yakni empiris-rasional, normatif-re-edukatifdan power.Penelitian ini adalah penelitian kualitatif dengan desain deskriptif.Berdasarkan hasil penelitian diketahui bahwa PCMI DKI Jakarta masih cenderungmempergunakan strategi empiris-rasional, namun dalam pelaksanaannya jugatelah menerapkan strategi normatif-re-edukatif namun belum terstruktur danterlembaga dengan sistematik. Penelitian ini menyarankan bahwa penerapanstrategi yang paling efektif dalam pengembangan potensi yakni strategi normatifre-edukatif berupa program-program pendidikan dan pelatihan sehingga bisa lebihmendorong perubahan pada diri individu dalam kelompok secara berkelanjutan.

ABSTRACTThis thesis discusses about the strategies of social intervention in the potentialdevelopment of youth in Purna Caraka Muda Indonesia (PCMI) DKI Jakarta. Youth whoare members of this organization has had the basic potential, but if it stop after theprogram without sustainability the potential in the young man will not be maximized. Indeveloping the potential of various strategies that do empirical-rational,normative-re-educative and power.This study is a descriptive qualitative research design. Based on the survey resultsrevealed that the PCMI Jakarta still tended to use empirical-rational strategy, but inpractice also has implemented a strategy of normative-re-educative but has not beensystematically structured and institutionalized. This study suggests that the application ofthe most effective strategies in the potential development is a normative-re-educative,programs such as education and training so they can push changes to the individual in agroup on an ongoing basis."

"Tesis ini membahas proses pembentukan orang kuat lokal di Jakarta Pasca Orde Baru. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian kualitatif dengan desain studi kasus. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan jaringan sosial dan identitas sosial berperan besar dalam proses pembentukan orang kuat lokal di Jakarta. Dalam lanskap sosial politik Indonesia pasca orde baru dimana sumber-sumber daya (sosial, politik, dan ekonomi) tidak lagi terpusat, jaringan sosial mampu menciptakan ruang bagi seorang agen/aktor untuk memperoleh atau meminjam berbagai sumber daya tersebut dari berbagai sumber untuk tujuan-tujuan instrumental dirinya. Sementara identitas sosial sebagai sumber pemaknaan yang sangat penting bagi manusia berperan dalam menciptakan solidaritas kelompok berbasis identitas. Kelompok elit dapat menggunakan solidaritas kelompok ini dengan menawarkan tujuan-tujuan yang dianggap sebagai tujuan bersama meskipun secara samar, tujuan-tujuan tersebut sangat menguntungkan elit tersebut.

This thesis describes the process in the making of local strongmen in the Jakarta Post New Order. This study is a qualitative research with case study design. The results showed social networks and social identity plays a major role in the formation of local strong men in Jakarta. In the social landscape of Indonesian politics after the new order in which the resources (social, political, and economic) is no longer centralized, the social networks is able to create space for an agent / actor to obtain or borrow these resources from various sources for his instrumental purposes. While social identity as a source of meaning that is very important for the human, has a role in creating a group solidarity based on identity. The elite group can use this group solidarity by offering some goals which is considered as a common goal though vaguely, these goals are very profitable for elite."

"Skripsi ini membahas gejala perwujudan kelompok hobi dalam kehidupan sosial masyarakat Jakarta, yaitu kelompok hobi Harley-Davidson. Kelompok hobi ini dalam kenyataanya memiliki identitas tertentu sebagai identifikasi perbedaan dengan kelompok-kelompok hobi lainnya serta persamaan bagi sesama anggota kelompok. Identitas kelompok hobi ini dapat diidentifikasi melalui bentuk atribut-atribut yang digunakan oleh para anggota yaitu motor Harley-Davidson, pakaian khusus, helm dan berbagai aksesoris. Para anggota kelompok motor Harley-Davidson memang umumnya berasal dari kelas sosial atas seperti tercermin dari latar belakang profesi mereka yaitu pejabat pemerintah dan pengusaha papan atas. Melalui kegiatan interaksi sosial antar anggota berbagai peluang bisnis pun dapat dinegosiasikan dan disepakati diantara mereka. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini memfokuskan pada signifikansi identitas sosial dalam memanfaatkan peluang bisnis dan menunjukan status sosial. Kegiatan penelitian ini menerapkan metode dan pendekatan kualitatif dengan teknik wawancara mendalam dan pengamatan terlibat.

This undergraduate thesis examines urban social phenomenon of a hoby group whose members are fond to ride big bike motor particularly Harley-Davidson. This group as a matter of fact has and reflect an identity to distinct itself from other similiar groups and to identify their social and economic characteristics among the members. It can be identified by the use of attributes such as leather jacket, boots, and other Harley-Davidson’s accessories. All of these attributes are symbol which belong to members upper class social status. Most of the members have professions such as high level government official and rich enterpreneurs. Therefore, membership, in this matter, function as means to show their social status. Besides that, thiis hobby group functions as well providing arenas too deal business matters among members. This research was carried out based on qualitative methods, in paricular applying depth interview and observation."
