"This book is intended as a text for undergraduate and graduate courses in aerodynamics, typically offered to students of aerospace and mechanical engineering programs. It covers all aspects of aerodynamics. The book begins with a description of the standard atmosphere and basic concepts, then moves on to cover the equations and mathematical models used to describe and characterize flow fields, as well as their thermodynamic aspects and applications. Specific emphasis is placed on the relation between concepts and their use in aircraft design. Additional topics of interest to the reader are presented in the Appendix, which draws on the teachings provided in the text. The book is written in an easy to understand manner, with pedagogical aids such as chapter overviews, summaries, and descriptive and objective questions to help students evaluate their progress. Atmospheric and gas tables are provided to facilitate problem solving. Lastly, a detailed bibliography is included at the end of each chapter to provide students with further resources. The book can also be used as a text for professional development courses in aerodynamics."

"This is the first volume of a two volume set which presents the results of the 31st International Symposium on Shock Waves (ISSW31), held in Nagoya, Japan in 2017. It was organized with support from the International Shock Wave Institute (ISWI), Shock Wave Research Society of Japan, School of Engineering of Nagoya University, and other societies, organizations, governments and industry. The ISSW31 focused on the following areas: Blast waves, chemical reacting flows, chemical kinetics, detonation and combustion, ignition, facilities, diagnostics, flow visualization, spectroscopy, numerical methods, shock waves in rarefied flows, shock waves in dense gases, shock waves in liquids, shock waves in solids, impact and compaction, supersonic jet, multiphase flow, plasmas, magnetohyrdrodynamics, propulsion, shock waves in internal flows, pseudo-shock wave and shock train, nozzle flow, re-entry gasdynamics, shock waves in space, Richtmyer-Meshkov instability, shock/boundary layer interaction, shock/vortex interaction, shock wave reflection/interaction, shock wave interaction with dusty media, shock wave interaction with granular media, shock wave interaction with porous media, shock wave interaction with obstacles, supersonic and hypersonic flows, sonic boom, shock wave focusing, safety against shock loading, shock waves for material processing, shock-like phenomena, and shock wave education. These proceedings contain the papers presented at the symposium and serve as a reference for the participants of the ISSW 31 and individuals interested in these fields."

Hydraulic system is one that is widely used in industry, in a mutually sustainable industry between one and the other time is that the main focus. In this study conducted a comparative study between the time and expense incurred by a hydraulic system to determine the effect both of them, in the end the data that obtained its expected can be utilized for the development of industry in Indonesia."

This paper investigates the findings on testing hydraulic properties of stone wool to see its performance as a filter media by using a new experimental setup. The setup will be designed so that the hydraulic heads and length of the filter can be varied in order to observe the flow rate produced by this method, and then hydraulic conductivity will be calculated. There were two lengths of stone wool filter media used, 9.6 cm and 16 cm, and the hydraulic heads varied from 117 cm to 74 cm to 44 cm. The results demonstrate that the hydraulic conductivity is greater on the longer section and, in general, with higher hydraulic head, with findings ranging from 0.216 cm/s to 0.408 cm/s. These results may be due to the inconsistent flow rates observed during the experiment, which led to the creation of outliers. However, these results have made it clear which types of stone wool have the greatest potential as filter media. More information will be provided in this report."
