"Industri farmasi di Indonesia terikat oleh regulasi yang komprehensif mengatur aspek-aspek krusial seperti registrasi obat, uji klinis, pembuatan, standar kualitas, iklan, dan pemantauan pasca-pemasaran. Salah satu elemen penting dalam regulasi ini adalah penetapan waktu simpan (shelf life) obat, yang merepresentasikan periode di mana obat dijamin aman dan efektif jika disimpan dengan benar. Menjelang kadaluarsa, obat yang tidak terjual umumnya dikembalikan ke industri farmasi, menimbulkan potensi kerugian finansial. Untuk mengatasi hal ini, industri farmasi berinovasi dengan memperpanjang waktu simpan obat, seperti yang dilakukan PT. Sterling Products Indonesia dalam memperpanjang waktu simpan Panadol Cold+Flu Caplet dari 24 bulan menjadi 36 bulan. Penelitian ini mengeksplorasi alur proses perpanjangan waktu simpan Panadol Cold+Flu Caplet dengan metode deskriptif non-eksperimental, mengumpulkan data sekunder dari dokumen Change Control terkait. Kajian stabilitas menunjukkan bahwa produk memenuhi spesifikasi stabilitas selama periode yang diperpanjang. Alur proses melibatkan inisiasi usulan perpanjangan, pembuatan Change Control, evaluasi dampak, risiko, dan aspek regulasi, serta implementasi dan evaluasi lanjutan. Perlu dipertimbangkan dampak dan risiko potensial serta dilakukan evaluasi kontinu untuk mengoptimalkan proses perpanjangan waktu simpan produk farmasi. Hal ini sejalan dengan regulasi BPOM yang menekankan pada jaminan kualitas dan keamanan produk obat bagi konsumen.

Pengawasan terhadap industri farmasi beserta produknya dilakukan oleh BPOM. Dalam rangka memberikan gambaran mengenai penerapan CPOB dan peran apoteker dalam industri farmasi, maka dilaksanakan Praktik Kerja Profesi oleh calon apoteker pada salah satu industri farmasi, yaitu PT AstraZeneca Indonesia – Cikarang. Selama PKP, calon apoteker diharapkan mampu memperluas wawasan, keterampilan, dan pengalaman praktis dalam melakukan pekerjaan kefarmasian di industri farmasi, terutama terkait penerapan CPOB. Tujuan dari tugas khusus ini adalah untuk menentukan penerapan batas waktu yang lebih ketat dalam manajemen deviasi di PT AstraZeneca Indonesia – Cikarang dan mengevaluasi kemungkinan penentuan batas waktu manajemen deviasi berdasarkan tingkat kekritisan deviasi dan ruang lingkup deviasi.

The Pharmaceutical Industry is an agency that plays an important role in providing high quality drugs in accordance with Good Manufacturing Practices (CPOB). Pharmacists play an important role as key personnel in the pharmaceutical industry, namely the head of quality assurance (QA), head of quality control (QC), and head of production. Supervision of the pharmaceutical industry and its products is carried out by BPOM. In order to provide an overview of the application of CPOB and the role of pharmacists in the pharmaceutical industry, the Professional Work Practices are carried out by prospective pharmacists in one of the pharmaceutical industries, namely PT AstraZeneca Indonesia - Cikarang. During PKP, prospective pharmacists are expected to be able to broaden their horizons, skills, and practical experience in carrying out pharmaceutical work in the pharmaceutical industry, especially regarding the application of CPOB. As a pharmacist in Indonesia, grasping the 10 competency standards is a must once he/she has completed their study and start working in the real-world. To allow prospective pharmacists understand better the work life as a pharmacist and to improve their capabilities, internships in PT Guardian Pharmatama and Apotek Atrika are conducted on February - March 2020 and May 2020 respectively.
