"Why did the Christian Church, in the twentieth century, engage in dialogue with Islam? What has been the ecumenical experience? What is happening now? Such questions underlie Douglas Pratts Christian Engagement with Islam: Ecumenical Journeys since 1910. Pratt charts recent Christian (WCC and Vatican) engagement with Islam up to the early 21st century and examines the ecumenical initiatives of Africas PROCMURA, Building Bridges, and the German Christian-Muslim Theological Forum, together with responses to the 2007 Common Word letter. Between them, Islam and Christianity represent over half the earths population. Their history of interaction, positive and negative, impacts widely still today. Contentious issues remain real enough, yet the story and ongoing reality of contemporary Christian-Muslim engagement is both exciting and encouraging. "

"ABSTRAKSkripsi ini membahas mengenai perkembangan Kristen di Korea tahun 1784 hingga 1910 sejak masa awal masuknya di Korea hingga masa akhir kerajaan Joseon. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menjelaskan perkembangan Kristen di Korea melalui sikap dan respon masyarakat Korea dalam berbagai kebijakan pemerintah Joseon, serta beberapa peristiwa yang terkait dengan benturan antara kebijakan pemerintah dengan sikap masyarakat pendukung dan penganut Kristen. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode sejarah dengan desain deskriptif. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa Kristen di Korea pada masa Joseon dianggap sebagai ilmu baru oleh kaum pelajar Konfusian. Akan tetapi, dalam perkembangannya Kristen mengalami berbagai hambatan, terutama disebabkan oleh kebijakan anti-Kristen dari pemerintah di masa akhir Joseon.

ABSTRACTThis Thesis discusses about the development of Christian in Korea in 1784-1910, from the first Christian introduced in Korea until the late of Joseon era. This research aimed to explain the development of christianity in Korea through some government policies in Joseon era, also some incidents that related to the impact of government policy and Korean christian attitude. This research applies historical method with descriptive design. The result of this research shows that Confucians scholar in Joseon era regarded Christian as a new science. However, Christianity in Korea had to face many obstacles, especially the anti-christian policy that government of Joseon era enacted."

Theodore Abu Qurra, Abu Raita and Ammar al-Basri provide valuable insight into early Christian-Muslim debate shortly after the rise of the Islamic empire. Through close examination of their writings on the doctrine of the Trinity, Sara Husseini demonstrates the creativity of these theologians, who make use of language, style and argumentation characteristic of Islamic theological thought (kalam), in order to help articulate their long-established religious truths. Husseini offers close analysis of the authors individually and comparatively, exploring their engagement with Islamic theology and their role in this fascinating period. "

"Penelitian ini membahas tentang keterlibatan Save the Children (STC) sebagai INGO di konflik Suriah sejak tahun 2012-2015. Pertanyaan penelitian ini adalah bagaimana keterlibatan STC dalam konflik Suriah dalam menjelaskan terkait kemampuan dan bentuk strateginya. Kerangka konseptual yang digunakan pada penelitian kali ini adalah International Non-Governmental Organization (INGO). Konsep ini menjelaskan definisi STC yang memiliki kemampuan berinterkoneksi dan representasi kepentingan. Temuan penelitian ini melihat bahwa kemampuan Interkoneksi STC bertujuan untuk membangun strategi aliansi program, seperti program Open Aid Partnership (OAP). Kemampuan representasi adalah klaim STC atas strategi framing isu yang mereka lakukan di Suriah. Kemampuan STC ini yang direalisasikan dalam bentuk keterlibatan STC seperti advokasi dan capacity building. Kedua bentuk keterlibatan tersebut yang dijadikan program STC diantaranya Child Protection: Every Child has the Rights to be Safe (CP), International Network for Education in Emergencies (INEE), dan Open Aid Partnership (OAP).

This thesis discusses the engagement of Save the Children (STC) in Syrian conflict since 2012-2015. This research asks teh question of how the STC's engagement in Syrian conflict explaining related capabilities and strategies. The conceptual framework used in this research is International Non-Governmental Organization (INGO). This concept explains the definition of STC that has the ability to interconnect and representation. The findings of this study to see that the interconnection ability of STC aims to build a strategic alliance program such Open Aid Partnership (OAP) programe. While representation ability of STC is claming to frame the issues in Syria. This STC capabilities is realized as form of engagement STC such as advocacy and capacity building. Both form of engagement were used as STC programs include Child Protection: Every Child has the Rights to Be Safe (CP), the International Network for Education in Emergencies (INEE), and the Open Aid Partnership (OAP).
