"この研究ノートは、グラフ（ネットワーク）の基本的な概念と、グラフをソフトウェアCytoscape を用いて分析・作図する方法を簡単に記したものである。文章の前半で、筆者はグラフの概念（点、線、有向・無向グラフなど）を説明したあとで、コンマ区切りのファイルを Cytoscape に読み込む方法を述べる。このあたりは適切なオプションを指定するべき重要なポイントである。グラフの作図例も提示されている。また、グラフの属性である点の次数、点の媒介中心性などが正しく計算されていることが確認できる。文章の後半では、大阪近郊の鉄道網についてのデータを筆者が Cytoscape に読み込んだ例が紹介されている。ここでは作図のスタイルについて言及がある。それは、重みによって線の属性（実線、破線）を、また、次数によって点の属性（ラベル文字の大きさ）を設定することである。次数と媒介中心性の計算例も示されている。文章の最後で筆者は、グラフ理論の教科書で示されているグラフの代表例にふれ、応用例の可能性について述べる。"
