"ABSTRAK
The paper presents two kinds of cooperating teams traditional and virtual, and proposes a new measure of the team virtuality level. Some representative teamwork characteristics, such as team member competencies, team diversity, leadership, and team decision making are analyzed and compared depending on the degree of virtuality. Moreover, the team climate as one of the team performance measures is also analyzed and compared in virtual and traditional teamwork conditions. The considerations show that the virtuality level is crucial for virtual and face-to-face team comparison, virtual and hybrid team analysis and answering the question how to improve online collaboration processes and performance.

The growth of various Internet applications has a big effect to the human communication pattern with simple and cheap equipment compared to the previous era. An Internet user can exchange text, picture and even motion graphics including audio without any limitation by time or place.
It is revolutionary born the Internet based society, which is called cyber community or virtual community. This community in Indonesian language is called as ?Komunitas Maya?. These communities tend to become a choice and used as place for socialization and self-actualization by the numbers of netters. It is not surprising if this cyber community quantitatively is always increasing and become as mature as a real community. To take greater benefit from the growth of this virtual community we must observe the form of it and compare it with the group in the real world.
In this research, the writer raised the problem: Are the members of a milling list can be described as a group in the virtual world? Then, what is the comparative of the mailing list as the groups in the virtual world with the groups in the real worlds?
The result of this research is widely open the possibility of the new opportunity for the business world, practical education, and social life. This happened because from the virtual group we can gather any input and opinion about anything related to the practical world even it will be much stronger in the virtual groups who create their groups based on their interest or the using of a product in example: group of PDA users, they are very aware to the launching of a new product or something new related to their PDA. It is not impossible they become the channel to spread a new product by using word of mouth method.
Virtual world group also a big mass concentration that is unseen from the real world. The connectivity between the group?s members makes it very fast to spread any information that considered as important message. One internet user can be a member of many mailing list, it is often happened one message move from one list to another until reach the most of internet user throughout country or even to the whole world.
Mailing list is not longer just a tools of communications or exchange of minds, but it will continuous become a multi purpose medium media. It is a channel, which formed opinion and has a potential to mobilize movement in the society. These potential should be deeper learned as a social and psychological communication study, now and in the future.
