"The implementation of acceleration program for the gifted students was problematic and has been dismissed by Indonesian Government in 2014. 240 first year students from three high schools in Jakarta participated in this study. The study focused on the social environment that is projected in accelerated and regular classrooms. Type of Classrooms is associated with Accelerated learning. Path analysis model was used to develop the relationships between latent and manifest variables. This study employed PLSPA TH program to analyse the data. The results showed accelerated learning is positively related to Self Regulated Learning in Biology but there is only a very weak relation in Mathematics. Accelerated learning positively and marginally related to SeIf Efficacy in Biology, but negatively and marginally related to Mathematics SeIfthcacy. There is a significant relationship between Accelerated learning and Achievement in both Mathematics and Biology."

"Periode emerging adulthood ditandai dengan memasuki jenjang pendidikan di perguruan tinggi dan menjadi mahasiswa. Banyak mahasiswa yang rela merantau ke kota lain demi mendapatkan pendidikan yang lebih baik. Mereka akrab disebut sebagai mahasiswa rantau. Meskipun begitu, pergi merantau tidak lepas dari berbagai hal yang menimbulkan stres. Oleh sebab itu, mahasiswa rantau perlu memiliki kemampuan resiliensi yang baik. Faktor individu dan keluarga memiliki peran yang sangat penting terhadap resiliensi. Keseimbangan antara faktor individu dan keluarga dapat terlihat dari kemampuan diferensiasi diri. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat peran diferensiasi diri sebagai prediktor dari resiliensi pada mahasiswa rantau. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuantitatif. Peneliti melakukan pengambilan data secara daring dengan menyebarkan kuesioner Differentiation of Self Inventory - Short Form untuk mengukur diferensiasi diri dan The 14-Item Resilience Scale untuk mengukur resiliensi. Total partisipan penelitian ini adalah 134 mahasiswa rantau yang berusia antara 18-24 tahun (M = 20,45 SD = 1,380). Hasil analisis multiple regression menunjukkan bahwa diferensiasi diri secara signifikan dapat memprediksi resiliensi mahasiswa rantau (R2 = 0,208, p < 0,05). Dari empat dimensi, dimensi I-position dan emotional cutoff secara signifikan mampu memprediksi resiliensi. Oleh karena itu, mahasiswa rantau dianjurkan untuk meningkatkan diferensiasi diri dengan mengoptimalkan I-position dan tidak melakukan emotional cutoff.

Emerging adulthood period is marked by entering higher education and becoming college students. Many college students apply to a university in other cities to get a better education. They are called sojourn students. Even so, living away from their hometown can cause a lot of stress. Therefore, sojourn students need to have good resilience skills. Individual and family factors have an important role in resilience. The balance between individual and family factors can be seen from the ability to differentiate themselves. This study aims to examine the role of differentiation of self as a predictor of resilience on sojourn students. This study is a quantitative research. Data were collected online using Differentiation of Self Inventory - Short Form and The 14-Item Resilience Scale questionnaire. The total participants of the study were 134 sojourn students aged between 18-24 years old (M = 20,45 SD = 1,380). The result of multiple regression analysis shows that differentiation of self significantly predicts the resilience of sojourn students (R2 = 0,208, p < 0,05). From the four dimensions, the I-position and emotional cutoff dimensions were significant to predict resilience of sojourn students. Therefore, sojourn students are encouraged to improve differentiation of self by optimizing their I-position and not doing emotional cutoff"
