ABSTRACTInternasionalisasi perusahaan adalah proses untuk membuat perusahaan internasional, salah satunya dengan melakukan investasi atau ekspansi operasional dari suatu perusahaan. Sebelumnya, proses internasionalisasi merupakan fenomena yang terjadi pada perusahaan-perusahaan negara maju yang dinilai memiliki kesiapan, baik melalui merek, paten, kualitas, dan juga kemampuan manajerial. Namun demikian, beberapa dekade ini telah menunjukkan bagaimana perusahaan-perusahaan dari Tiongkok, yang merupakan negara berkembang, mengalami internasionalisasi yang pesat. TKA ini berusaha melihat motivasi-motivasi yang melatarbelakangi internasionalisasi perusahaan-perusahaan Tiongkok, dan juga mengelompokkan motivasi-motivasi di balik internasionalisasi perusahaan Tiongkok sesuai dengan perspektif analisis yang digunakan oleh artikel, yaitu perspektif mikro dan perspektif makro. Dari perspektif mikro, terdapat dua motivasi utama yaitu motivasi peningkatan efisiensi dan berkurangnya risiko yang mendorong perusahaan untuk melakukan internasionalisasi. Sedangkan dari perspektif makro, terdapat motivasi ekonomi dan politik yang berdasarkan kepentingan dari negara serta motivasi institusional sebagai efek dari institusi. Berdasarkan proses pemetaan motivasi internasionalisasi perusahaan Tiongkok, TKA ini mengidentifikasi bahwa faktor utama yang paling berpengaruh dalam menentukan negara dan sektor tujuan investasi adalah motivasi dari pespektif makro. Kesimpulan ini didapatkan berdasarkan analisis dari sisi historis, data empiris, serta kepentingan, di mana nampak bahwa peran dan juga kepentingan yang dimiliki oleh negara lebih mendominasi dibandingkan sektor privat.
ABSTRACTInternationalization is a process in which a firm proceed to internationalize, either by investing or by expanding operations overseas. Previously, the internationalization process was a phenomenon that occurred to firms developed country companies that were considered to have readiness and capabilities to operate abroad. However, these decades have shown how firms from China, a developing country, are experiencing rapid internationalization. The paper seeks to see the motivations behind the internationalization of Chinese firms, and also classifies the motivations behind the internationalization of Chinese companies according to the analytical perspective used by the articles, namely the micro and macro perspective. From a micro perspective, there are two main motivations, namely the motivation to increase efficiency and the reduced risk which drive companies to internationalize. Whereas from a macro perspective, there are economic and political motivations based on the interests of the state as well as institutional motivation as an effect of the institution. Based on the process of mapping the internationalization motivation of Chinese companies, this article identified that the main factor in determining the country and investment destination sector are the motivations of the macro perspective. This conclusion is based on an analysis from the historical side, empirical data, and interests, where it appears that the roles and interests of the state are more dominant than the private sector."
