"Maskulinitas salaryman yang diterima sebagai hegemoni dalam masyarakat Jepang memarginalkan bentuk maskulinitas lainnya termasuk bapak rumah tangga atau sengyoushufu. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat representasi maskulinitas sengyoushufu melalui tokoh Tatsu dalam drama televisi Gokushufudou (The Way of Househusband) dan refleksi film tersebut terhadap fenomena bapak rumah tangga di Jepang. Metode yang akan digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah teori deskriptif analisis melalui tangkapan layar adegan dan dialog dalam drama, lalu dianalisis dengan teori Hegemonic Masculinity dari R.W Connel (1987,1995) sebagai teori utama, dan didukung oleh teori maskulinitas New Man oleh John Beynon (2002). Dari hasil analisis ditemukan bahwa 1) Tokoh Tatsu merepresentasikan maskulinitas sengyoushufu yang tidak tunduk terhadap nilai-nilai maskulinitas salaryman sebagai Hegemonic Masculinity dalam masyarakat Jepang; 2) Identitas sengyoushufu direpresentasikan dengan positif dalam drama televisi inimelalui tokoh Tatsu yang secara sukarela menjadi bapak rumah tangga dengan lingkungan yang menerimanya dengan baik. Gokushufudou menjadi salah satu wacana baru yang mendekonstruksi hegemoni maskulinitas salaryman dalam masyarakat Jepang melalui representasi bapak rumah tangga.

Salaryman masculinity which is accepted as hegemony in Japanese society marginalizes other forms of masculinity including househusbands or sengyoushufu. This study aims to see the representation of sengyoushufu masculinity through the character Tatsu in the television drama Gokushufudou (The Way of Househusband) and the film's reflection on the phenomenon of househusbands in Japan. The method that will be used in this research is descriptive analysis method through screenshots of scenes and dialogues in the drama, then analyzed with the theory of Hegemonic Masculinity from R.W Connel (1987, 1995) as the basic theory, and supported by the theory of new man masculinity by John Beynon (2002). The results from this study show that 1) Tatsu's character represent sengyoushufu masculinity that is not subject to the values of salaryman masculinity as Hegemonic Masculinity in Japanese society; 2) The identity of sengyoushufu is represented positively in this television drama through the characterization of Tatsu who voluntarily becomes a househusband, and surrounding environment that accept his identity. Gokushufudou is one of the new discourses that deconstructs the hegemony of salaryman masculinity in Japanese society through the representation of househusband."

Banyak penelitian yang telah menganalisa karakter Wonder Woman menggunakan studi feminis, namun tidak banyak yang berfokus pada karakter Steve Trevor. Dengan menggunakan teori dari Raewyn Connell tentang maskulinitas dan jender performativitas dari Judith Butler, artikel ini akan membahas karakter maskulinitas dari Steve Trevor dan tindakannya yang mematahkan dominasi hegemoni maskulinitas melalui analisis tekstual dan karakter. Artikel ini memperlihatkan bahwa walaupun karakter Steve Trevor menggambarkan beberapa karakter dari hegemoni maskulinitas, namun beberapa tindakannya justru bertolak belakang dominasi maskulinitas.

ABSTRACTWonder Woman 2017 is a superhero movie based on the character from DC Comics, which tells about the character Wonder Woman going to human world with Captain Steve Trevor, the US special agent, in order to save the world from Ares. Many studies have researched the character Wonder Woman using feminist studies, yet not many focused on the character Steve Trevor. By using Raewyn Connell rsquo s framework of masculinity and Judith Butler rsquo s gender performativity, this paper will discuss the character Steve Trevor 39 s masculine attributes and actions that break the domination of hegemonic masculinity through textual and character analysis. This article argues that although the character Steve Trevor showcases some of characteristics of hegemonic masculinity, some of his actions are shown to break the dominant masculinity."

"Penelitian ini menganalisis representasi maskulinitas pada tokoh utama pria yang digambarkan dalam film Вокзал Для Двоих (Stasiun Untuk Berdua) karya Eldar Ryazanov yang dirilis pada tahun 1983. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan dan menginterpretasikan potret ciri maskulinitas yang ditampilkan pada tokoh Platon Sergeyevich Ryabinin sebagai tokoh utama pria dalam film ini. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode deskriptif analitis. Teori yang digunakan untuk menganalisis representasi pada adegan dan dialog film adalah teori representasi Stuart Hall yang didukung oleh teori semiotika Roland Barthes. Hasil penelitian ini adalah tokoh Platon Sergeyevich Ryabinin dalam film Вокзал Для Двоих (Stasiun Untuk Berdua) (1983) mampu menunjukkan ciri-ciri maskulinitas berdasarkan tujuh ciri-ciri maskulinitas yang diungkapkan oleh Janet Saltzman Chafetz, yaitu penampilan fisik, fungsional, seksual, emosi, intelektual, interpersonal, dan karakter personal lain dari tokoh tersebut.

This study analyzes the representation of masculinity in the male main character depicted in Eldar Ryazanov's film Вокзал Для Двоих (Railway Station for Two), which was released in 1983. This study aims to describe and interpret the portrait of masculine characteristics shown in Platon Sergeyevich Ryabinin as the leading male character in this film. The method used in this research is a qualitative approach in the form of the descriptive analytical method. The theory used to examine representations in film scenes and dialogues is Stuart Hall's representation theory and supported by Roland Barthes' semiotic theory. This research shows that through both parts of the film Вокзал Для Двоих (Railway Station for Two) (1983), Platon Sergeyevich Ryabinin as the male lead character exhibits masculine characteristics based on seven characteristics expressed by Janet Saltzman Chafetz, namely physical appearance, functional, sexual, emotional, intellectual, interpersonal, and other personal characteristics of the character."

ABSTRACTThis study focused on the effect of Samsung Galaxy SIII smartphone productplacement, in Korean drama series entitled "To The Beautiful You". This researchis descriptive quantitative research design. The results of this study showed thatbrand awareness and attitude toward drama have insignificant effect on attitudetoward the brand / product, while the attitude toward the actor and attitude towardproduct placement significantly influence the attitude toward the brand / product.Attitude toward actors and attitude toward brand/product significantly influencepurchase intention.
