"ABSTRACTDi antara seluruh tumbuhan karnivora, Venus flytrap sangat menarik untuk diteliti karena pergerakannya yang cepat dalam menangkap mangsa serta memiliki mekanisme pemilihan mangsa yang unik, dengan membebaskan mangsa yang berukuran kecil setelah berhasil ditangkap. Pada skripsi ini, disajikan analisis dinamika penangkapan mangsa serta biaya dan manfaat dari penangkapan dan pengolahan mangsa. Model yang terbentuk disesuaikan dengan data yang tersedia, untuk membuat analisis perilaku perangkap pada Venus flytrap. Hasilnya, ditemukan bahwa sumber nonmangsa, seperti air hujan dan angin, menyebabkan sebagian besar terjadinya trap closure; hanya sedikit trap closure yang menghasilkan makanan; sebagian besar mangsa yang ditangkap akan dibebaskan; mekanisme penutupan sebuah perangkap terjadi setiap dua hari sekali; dan sebuah perangkap harus menunggu lebih dari satu bulan untuk mendapat makanan. Selain itu ditemukan bahwa penangkapan mangsa oleh sebuah perangkap pada Venus flytrap mengikuti Beddington-DeAngelis functional response. Temuan ini mengindikasikan Venus flytrap sangat selektif dalam menangkap mangsanya.

ABSTRACTAmong carnivorous plants, the Venus flytrap is of particular interest for the rapid movement of its snap-traps and prey selection mechanism, where small prey are allowed to escape from the traps. In this paper, we analyze the dynamics of prey capture and the costs and benefits of capturing and digesting its prey. We fit the model to available data, making analysis regarding trap behaviour. In particular, we find that non-prey sources, such as raindrops or wind, cause a large proportion of trap closures; only few trap closures result in a meal; most of the captured prey are allowed to escape; the closure mechanism of a trap is triggered about once every two days; and a trap has to wait more than a month for a meal. We also find that prey capture of traps of the Venus flytrap follows the Beddington-DeAngelis functional response. These predictions indicate that the Venus flytrap is highly selective in its prey capture."

"Artikel ini membahas isu patologi sosial dan kekerasan seksual sebagai representasi praktik BDSM di film Fifty Shades of Grey 2015 dan Venus in Fur 2013 . Dengan analisis tekstual, artikel ini fokus menganalisis masalah seksualitas dan hubungan kekuasaan melalui karakter utama perempuan dari kedua film. Konsep yang digunakan adalah understanding via pathologizing oleh Weiss 2006 dan male gaze oleh Mulvey 1975 .Hasil analisis menunjukan kedua film memperkuat representasi dominan dari film-film BDSM sebelumnya ketika sifat patologis dan kekerasan seksual diromantisasikan, perizinan untuk melakukan praktik BDSM tidak diberikan secara sadar, hubungan kekuasaan bekerja dengan berbeda di dalam dan luar peran seksual, dan karakter wanita digambarkan secara sensual.

Mainstream media representation of BDSM is complex and often problematic, which needs to be continuously scientifically investigated. This article explores the themes of pathology and abuse in two films Fifty Shades of Grey 2015 and Venus in Fur 2013 . By doing a comparative textual analysis, the analysis discusses female sexualities and power relation between leading female characters, Anastasia Steele in Fifty Shades of Grey 2015 and Vanda von Dunayev in Venus in Fur 2013. Weiss 2006 understanding via pathologizing and Mulvey rsquo s 1975 male gaze are the concepts used to understand how pathology is associated with BDSM practice and why females are depicted as sexual objects in these films.Research findings reveal that both films strengthen mainstream representation of BDSM where pathology and abuse are romanticized, the understanding of consent is problematic, power relation operates differently inside and outside the characters rsquo sexual role play and female characters are sexualized."
