Dari banyak jenis stereotipe, artikel ini secara khusus membahas stereotipe etnik, yaitu pada etnik Latin, yang terdapat dalam film The Back-up Plan (2010) dengan menganalisis karakter serta beberapa elemen teknis film tersebut. Meskipun karakteristik dari Zoe dibuat untuk menghilangkan stereotip Latina, pada saat bersamaan, upaya tersebut menciptakan masalah baru yang sama rumitnya dimana ia mencoba untuk mengikuti budaya kaum dominan melalui penampilan dan kehidupan sosialnya.

ABSTRACTStereotype is a false assumption that turns out to be a problematic issue in the society. From many types of stereotype, this article specifically discusses ethnic stereotype, Latina, that found in the movie The Back-up Plan (2010) using character analysis and some of the movie s technical elements. The issues in this paper are Lin as an example of model minority achieving the American Dream, the ethics of Jeremy Lin that reflect Weber rsquo s work of Protestant ethic and the capitalism behind Linsanity. This paper aims to take a look further at the phenomenon of Linsanity in which Lin becomes a model minority. Also, it attempts to investigate how Jeremy Lin rsquo s religiosity managed to give Lin certain ethics and how it resulted in Linsanity containing capitalism which changes the reference of the term itself from Jeremy Lin to a product. "Arketipe adalah sebuah cetakan, gambaran, atau model ideal dari suatu fenomena dan karakter, seperti peran-peran yang mudah dikenali di dalam seni pertunjukan yakni ibu tiri yang kejam, pahlawan yang berani, dan lain-lain. Masyarakat percaya bahwa sosok ideal pahlawan mencerminkan sifat-sifat superior dalam perangkat oposisi biner. Penelitian ini membahas tentang bagaimana tokoh Ghost Rider dalam film Ghost Rider (2007) mendekonstruksi arketipe dan ideologi dualisme tersebut dengan menggunakan teori arketipe Jung dan teori strukturalisme Greimas. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tokoh Ghost Rider mendekonstruksi sekaligus mengadaptasi arketipe pahlawan.Selain itu, dualisme dari kebaikan-kejahatan dan cahaya-kegelapan juga berhasil digulingkan oleh tokoh Ghost Rider tersebut.Hasil penelitian ini diharapkan dapat menjadi sumber inspirasi bagi penelitian selanjutnya yang membahas mengenai elemen-elemen narasi.

Archetype is an ideal print, image, or model of phenomena or characters such as easily-recognized characters in an art performance's cruel step-mother, a brave hero, etc. People believe that an ideal hero mirrors superior criterion in binary opositions. This research focuses on how Ghost Rider in a movie titled Ghost Rider (2007) deconstructs the archetypal hero image as well as the dualism by using theory of Jung's archetype and theory of Greimas' structuralism. The result of the research indicates that Ghost Rider deconstructs as well as adapts the image of an archetypal hero. Besides, the dualism of good-evil and light-darkness are also deconstructed by Ghost Rider. This result is expected to be a reference for further researches on narrative elements."

"Penelitian ini membahas tentang negosiasi identitas tokoh utama dalam film Valentino (2013). Penelitian ini memakai teori film David Bordwell dan Kristin Thompson yang dilihat dari aspek sinematografis. Pendekatan negosiasi menjadi pendukung untuk menganalisis korpus. Hasil penelitian ini memperlihatkan negosiasi dan penolakan identitas yang dipilih tokoh utama untuk menyelesaikan konflik identitasnya. This research discusses the negotiation identity of the main character in the film Valentino (2013). This research uses the theory of the film David Bordwell and Kristin Thompson as seen from cinematographic aspects. The negotiation approach becomes a supporter for analyzing the corpus. The results of this research show that negotiation and rejection of the identity chosen by the main character to resolve their identity conflict. The existence of the stereotype of the Dutch towards Moroccan immigrants is a cause of identity conflict experienced by the main character. In the end the main character chose to keep his Moroccan identity."

"Serial TV Breaking Bad 2008 - 2013 merupakan salah satu yang terbaik di antara serial lainnya yang bertemakan kejahatan dan Narkoba. Semua representasi yang ada dalam Breaking Bad pada akhirnya mempengaruhi serial ini hingga dapat menghasilkan tren baru pada industri pertelevisian. Teori yang digunakan adalah teori identitas budaya dan teori representasi dari Stuart Hall, karena serial ini akan dianalisis dengan pendekatan budaya. Breaking Bad memiliki oposisi biner yang kompleks, pemilihan setting yang unik, dan representasi identitas yang bersifat metafor. Tiga hal tersebut digambarkan sedemikan rupa sehingga memiliki peran penting dalam menetapkan kode yang baru bahwa adanya pahlawan bukanlah suatu keharusan, dan kisah yang hebat dapat terjadi tidak hanya di kota-kota besar.

In terms of drug related crime TV series, Breaking Bad 2008 2013 appears to be one of the best among the others. The popularity of this series has spread all over the world due to its outstanding plot, acting, and production. Breaking Bad delivers a fresh nuance to the audience. This paper aims to analyze the series based on how it has set new codes among this kind of TV series. Up until now, there seems to be no research that examines the series in terms of its impact towards the industry, specifically, ones that examine the representation of identity in the series. All of those representations eventually affect the entire show to offer a new trend in the industry. Theories that are used are theory of cultural identity and theory of representation from Stuart Hall because the series will be analyzed with cultural approach. Breaking Bad offers a complex binary opposition within its characters, unusual selection of setting, and metaphorical representations of identity. These characters with their unusual and dramatic characterization, setting, and representations of identity have roles in setting the new codes that a hero is not a must, and a great story can be made not only in big cities."

"Stereotip menjadi isu yang akhir-akhir ini kerap diangkat dalam sebuah film. Dalam masyarakat yang semakin multikultural, stereotip seringkali menjadi salah satu penghambat berjalannya sebuah integrasi sosial. Di dalam artikel ini akan dipaparkan mengenai bagaimana berjalannya sebuah proses integrasi yang sempat terhambat oleh karena adanya stereotip antara warga Prancis bagian utara dan bagian selatan. Stereotip dan integrasi sosial akan dipaparkan melalui analisis aspek naratif yang mencakup penokohan, alur, dan latar, serta aspek sinematografis yang mencakup aspek visual dan sonor. Melalui analisis kedua aspek tersebut terlihat bahwa proses integrasi sempat terhambat karena adanya stereotip-stereotip negatif. Namun pada akhirnya proses integrasi dapat berjalan dengan baik karena adanya sikap saling bertoleransi dan kemauan untuk menerima kebudayaan baru dari kedua belah pihak yang saling berintegrasi untuk membongkar stereotip negatif yang selama ini mereka pahami.

Recently, the stereotype issue becomes oftenly raised in a film. In a multicultural society, the issue of stereotype itself is identified as one of the inhibiting factors of a social integration. In this article will be presented on how the integration process that was inhibited by the existence of the stereotype between southern french and northen french people. Stereotype and social integration will be explained through the analysis of narrative aspects, including characterization, plot, and setting, as well as aspects of the cinematographic that includes visual effects and resonant. Through the analysis of these two aspects will be seen that the integration process was hampered because of the negatives stereotypes, but in the end the process of integration can run well because of the mutual tolerance and the willingness to accept the new culture of both parties that integrate with each other to deconstruct the negative stereotypes that have been believed by both sides."

"ABSTRAKWa Halla rsquo; La Wayn? merupakan sebuah film yang berkisah tentang kehidupan sebuah desa yang terisolir. Desa tersebut dihuni oleh dua kelompok agama, yaitu Muslim dan Kristen. Kaum perempuan di dalamnya berusaha untuk melindungi desa dari timbulnya peperangan antaragama yang terjadi di luar desa. Film ini menarik untuk diteliti karena adanya karakter perempuan yang lebih dominan dalam menyelesaikan konflik. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menjawab dan menjelaskan seperti apa karakter perempuan dinarasikan dalam film, serta mengetahui bagaimana narasi cerita yang dibangun. Metodologi yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah deskriptif kualitatif. Peneliti akan menganalisis struktur narasi, cerita, alur, sudut pandang serta fungsi dan karakter pada film yang disutradarai oleh Nadine Labaki ini. Dari hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa representasi perempuan yang ditampilkan pada film ini tidak meninggalkan keseluruhan stereotipe perempuan pada umumnya. Di sisi lain, perempuan mampu melakukan sesuatu yang lebih besar daripada stereotipe pada umumnya.

ABSTRACTWa Halla rsquo La Wayn is a movie that tells about the life of an isolated vilage. The village is inhabited by two religious groups, they are Muslim and Christian groups. The women in it are trying to protect the village from the incident of interfaith warfare that happened outside the village. This film is interesting to be researched because the female characters in it are more dominant to solve the conflict. The purpose of this research is to answer and explain what kind of female characters narrated in the film, also to know how narrative story is built. The methodology used in this research is descriptive qualitative. Researcher will analyze the structure of narrative, story, plot, point of view, also the functions and characters in the film which was directed by Nadine Labaki. The results of the research can be concluded that the female representation shown in this film does not leave the whole stereotype of women in general. On the other side, the women able to do something bigger than the stereotype in general."

Walaupun beberapa studi tentang pencarian jati diri dan identitas dalam novel dan ulasan-ulasan dalam film adaptasinya sudah dibuat, studi terhadap isu gender belum pernah dilakukan. The Little Prince 2015 , a children animated film adapted from the French novel with the same name written by Antoine de Saint-Exup ry, talks about the Little Girl rsquo;s relationship with her single mother, the Mother, and her wise neighbor, the Aviator. This film could be taken as a corpus of analysis to explore gender stereotype in gender studies, specifically on stereotypes towards motherhood in patriarchal view. While several studies on identity and self-discovery on the novel and film reviews on the film adaptation have been conducted, studies on gender issues have not been found. By using De Beauvoir rsquo;s idea of motherhood in patriarchy and Green rsquo;s general stereotypes toward the mother, this paper intends to discover how characterization of the Mother follows the gender stereotype of motherhood in patriarchy from the film adaptation. "

Gender stereotype is an attitudes or behaviors of a 'typical' man or a 'typical' woman. Gender stereotype itself often depicted in movies in such different ways, some are tolerable and some are not. This article aims to discuss about how the idea of gender stereotype construct the characters and emotions in a film titled Inside Out 2015 Although there a lot of scholars who have discussed the movie from psychoanalytical point of view, not many have analyzed the movie based on the gender stereotype on the characters. This article expects to inform the reader that there are many elements that can be analyzed to prove that gender stereotype constructs the characters in the real life, and the emotions inside the characters' head."
