"ABSTRAK
Latar belakang. Obesitas merupakan suatu tren global yang memprihatinkan teruatam di Indonesia. Serat pangan merupakan solusi alternatif dalam penanganan obesitas kurang mendapatkan perhatian yang lebih padahal sangat mudah diapatkan di Indonesia. Metode Penelitian. Penelitian potong lintang dilakukan di HNRC IMERI FKUI dalam periode Juli hingga September 2018 dengan mengambil sampel populasi pria dan wanita berusia 19-50
tahun di Jakarta dan melihat korelasi antara nilai asupan serat pangan harian menggunakan 24-hour recall method dan persentase lemak diambil menggunakan skinfold method. Hasil. Sebanyak 126 responden berpartisipasi dalam penelitian ini. Ditemukan bahwa asupan serat memiliki korelasi cenderung signifikan terhadap persentase lemak p=0.051,0.146 dan
setelah dilakukan penyesuaian terhadap variabel usia, jenis kelamin, rerata asupan kalori, dan aktivitas fisik didapatkan tren signifikan pada hubungan tesebut. (Adjusted 0.487 p0.082, IK95%-1.036-0.062 Kesimpulan. Tingkat asupan serat yang adekuat memiliki hubungan terhadap persentase lemak. Diperlukan edukasi terutama dalam perubahan gaya hidup agar profil kesehatan masyarakat Indonesia dapat mengalami perbaikan.

ABSTRACT
Objectives. Obesity as a leading global trend that can be overwhelming if not treated well. Dietary fiber as an alternative solution in obesity management is not considered in many studies although in Indonesia dietary fiber is abundant and not hard to get. Methods. A cross-sectional study is conducted on HNRC IMERI FKUI from July until September 2018 taking samples from man and woman aged 19-50 years old in Jakarta and measures the corelation between daily dietary fiber intake using 24-hour recall method and body fat percentage calculated using skinfold method. Results. A total of 126 respondent is involved in this research. It is found that fiber intake has an almost significant correlation with fat percentage 0.051, r 0.146), and after adjustment with other variable such as age,
gender, activity level, and calorie intake, a significant trend is achieved (Adjusted 0.487, 0.082, 95 C1.036-0.062 Conclusion: Adequate amount of daily dietary fiber intake has a borderline significant trend relationship with body fat percentage. Education effort and a lifestyle change is a must in the goal of repairing Indonesias citizen health and well-being."

"Gula darah puasa yang tidak normal merupakan suatu masalah yang serius dan dapat berujung ke penyakit Diabetes Mellitus. Penyakit ini sering ditemukan di Indonesia dan masih dibutuhkan sebuah metode untuk menilai risiko seseorang terkena Diabetes Mellitus yang cepat akurat dan mudah untuk dilakukan sehingga peneliti ingin mencari tahu apakah pengukuran persentase lemak tubuh menggunakan skinfold method memiliki hubungan dengan gula darah puasa. Pengambilan data berlangsung dari periode Juli 2018 hingga Agustus 2018. Kriteria inklusi mencakup responden-responden berumur 19-50 tahun yang secara sukarela mengikuti penelitian ini dan berasal dari sekitar Jakarta. Kriteria eksklusi mencakup perempuan yang sedang hamil, menyusui, dan menstruasi serta seluruh subjek yang sedang sakit atau sedang meminum obat rutin. Dari kriteria tersebut, didapatkan responden total dimana 126 orang dianalisis dari jumlah total sebanyak 277 orang. Sisa 151 responden tidak dianalisis karena tidak memiliki data lengkap untuk skinfold, gula darah puasa, dan asupan nutrisi.
Hasil analisis ditemukan bahwa persentase lemak tubuh yang diukur berkorelasi positif secara tidak signifikan dan lemah p=0,064, r=0,165. Setelah dianalisis lebih lanjut dan dilakukan penyesuaian terhadap usia, asupan karbohidrat dan kalori, serta jenis kelamin, ditemukan bahwa persentase lemak tubuh berhubungan secara signifikan sebesar 9,7 % terhadap gula darah puasa p=0,005, Adjusted b=0,542, 95 % CI=-0,167-0,917. Bila disimpulkan, terdapat hubungan yang bermakna antara persentase lemak tubuh dengan gula darah puasa namun diperlukan penelitian lanjut menggunakan ukuran sampel yang lebih besar sebelum dapat digunakan secara luas sebagai metode skrining gula darah puasa tidak normal.

Abnormal fasting blood glucose is one of the serious medical problems faced upon us that can lead to Diabetes Mellitus. This disease could be found commonly in Indonesia and it is still needed a fast, accurate, and easy to use method of to find the risk of someone having diabetes mellitus hence the author wanted to know whether measuring body fat percentage using skinfold thickness as a screening method is viable for predicting fasting blood glucose. Data is gathered starting from July 2018 until August 2018. Inclusion criterias are defined as volunteers with age ranged from 19-50 years old and are from Jakarta which mostly came from East Jakarta. Exclusion criteria includes women that are having their period, pregnant, or breastfeeding. Volunteers that are sick or taking routine medications are also excluded. The results were 126 people that are accepted for data analysis out of a total of 277 people. The rest of the volunteers were not analysed since they didnt account for the inclusion and exclusion criteria and some of them also didnt have data for either skinfold, fasting blood sugar, nor nutritional intake.
Results shows that a borderly significant positive correlation is present between body fat percentage and fasting blood glucose p=0.064, r=0.165. Further analysis and adjustments show that body fat percentage affects fasting blood glucose by 9.7 % when confounding variables were not accounted p=0.005, Adjusted b=0.542, 95 % CI=-0.167-0.917. Hence, it is found that an increase in body fat percentage may increase an amount of fasting blood glucose after adjustment for calorie and carbohydrate intake. Despite this result, a study with a larger sample size must be done before body fat percentage can be used as a comparative scale against fasting blood glucose.

"Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui hubungan antara dislipidemia pada remaja perempuan usia 13-15 tahun dengan persentase lemak tubuh. Penelitian ini merupakan studi potong lintang pada 200 remaja perempuan usia 13-15 tahun dengan menggunakan data primer berupa kadar kolesterol LDL, kolesterol HDL, dan trigliserida serum dan data sekunder berupa asupan energi dan makronutrien, aktivitas fisik, persentase lemak tubuh, dan kadar kolesterol total serum dari penelitian hibah riset multidisiplin dengan judul ?Faktor Determinan Kadar Estradiol, IGF-1, dan Menarche Dini pada Remaja Putri Usia 13-15 tahun di Jakarta: Studi Epidemiologi Gizi Terkait Faktor Risiko Kanker Payudara (Bardosono, dkk). Asupan energi subjek 1587,6 (702,9-2962,8) kkal/hari, kontribusi makronutrien terhadap asupan energi total yang terbesar adalah berasal dari lemak, 92% subjek penelitian memiliki aktivitas fisik yang rendah, persentase lemak tubuh sebesar 26,5(14,7-31,5), nilai kadar profil lipid subjek dalam batas normal. Prevalensi kolesterol total dan kolesterol LDL tinggi 15,5 %, hipertrigliseridemia 17 %, dan kolesterol HDL rendah 17,5 %. 20,5% subjek memiliki kelainan 1 jenis profil lipid. Terdapat korelasi negatif antara kadar kolesterol HDL dengan persentase lemak tubuh dan persentase lemak tubuh pada subjek dengan dislipidemia kolesterol HDL lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan subjek tanpa dislipidemia kolesterol HDL.

The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between dyslipidemia in adolescent girls aged 13-15 years with body fat percentage. This is a crosssectional study on 200 adolescents girls aged 13-15 years using primary data of LDL cholesterol, HDL cholesterol, and serum triglyceride, and secondary data such as energy and macronutrient intake, physical activity, body fat percentage, and total cholesterol serum of major research "Determinant factors of estradiol level, IGF-1, and early menarche in female adolescents aged 13-15 years in Jakarta: Nutritional epidemiology study related to breast cancer risk factors (Bardosono, et al)." Energy intake subjects 1587.6 (702.9 to 2962.8) kcal/day, the largest macronutrient contribution to the total energy intake was derived from fat, 92% of the study had a low physical activity level, body fat percentage of 26.5 (14.7 to 31.5), lipid profile levels in the normal range. Prevalence of high total cholesterol and LDL cholesterol 15.5%, 17% hypertriglyceridemia, and low HDL cholesterol 17.5%. 20.5% of the subjects had 1 abnormal lipid profile. There was a negative correlation between HDL cholesterol levels and body fat percentage and body fat percentage in subjects with dyslipidemia HDL cholesterol was higher than subjects without dyslipidemia HDL cholesterol."

"Obesitas didefinisikan sebagai kelebihan massa lemak tubuh yang dapat disebabkan oleh genetik dan gaya hidup, salah satunya faktor nutrisi. Salah satunya, asupan yang tidak seimbang membuat orang obes juga dapat mengalami defisiensi nutrisi, termasuk antioksidan yang berperan pada jaringan lemak dalam patofisiologi dan tatalaksana obesitas. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui jumlah asupan antioksidan harian pada remaja yang mengalami obesitas. Penelitian ini menggunakan data sekunder dari 69 remaja obes dengan desain potong lintang. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan rerata massa lemak tubuh remaja obes sebesar 37,8±7,02 kg. Sebanyak 14 subjek (20,29%) kekurangan asupan vitamin A sesuai AKG, 53 subjek (76,81%) kekurangan vitamin C, dan 67 subjek (97,1%) kekurangan vitamin E. Hasil analisis bivariat menunjukkan tidak adanya hubungan antara massa lemak tubuh dengan asupan vitamin A (r=-0,02, p>0,05), vitamin C(r=-0,089, p>0,05), dan vitamin E (r=-0,203, p0,05), dalam penelitian ini. Dengan demikian, disimpulkan massa lemak tubuh tidak berhubungan dengan vitamin A dan vitamin C, tetapi berkorelasi negatif dengan asupan vitamin E.

Obesity is excess body fat mass caused by genetic and lifestyle, such as nutrition intake. Imbalance intake might be happen in obese person due to nutrition deficiency. Antioxidant play important role in process and management of obesity. This study aims to determine the amount of antioxidant intake in obese adolescents. This research used cross-sectional design with secondary data from 69 obese adolescents. The results showed that body fat mass of obese adolescent is 37,8±7,02 kg. There are 14 subjects (20,29%) have vitamin A deficiency according to DRI Indonesia, 53 (76,81%) subjects lack of vitamin C, and 67 subject (97,1%) have vitamin E deficiency. The results of bivariate analysis showed no association between body fat and vitamin A intake (r = 0.185, p> 0.05), vitamin C (r =-0.146, p> 0.05), and vitamin E (r =-0.163 , p> 0.05), in this study. We found body fat mass has no correlation with vitamin A and vitamin C intake, but has negative correlation with vitamin E intake."

"Perubahan gaya hidup remaja menyebabkan ketidakseimbangan asupan energi dan aktivitas fisik yang berujung pada obesitas, mempengaruhi kesehatanya di usia dewasa. Obesitas dini dapat menyebabkan penyakit degeneratif terjadi secara lebih cepat. Penelitian ini ingin mencari faktor asupan energi dan komposisi makronutrien dalam mempengaruhi status gizi berdasarkan tebal lipatan kulit. Seluruh mahasiswa tingkat pertama usia 15-18 tahun pada juni 2011-Juni 2013 (n=75) diwawancara asupan makanannya dalam satu bulan terakhir, kemudian dicari asupan energi harian, komposisi karbohidrat, protein dan lemaknya.
Subjek juga diukur tebal lipatan kulit di empat lokasi (bisep, trisep, subskapula dan suprailiaka), kemudian dicari persentase lemak tubuh dan digolongkan kedalam status obesitas dan tidak obesitas. 25,8% remaja pria dan 38,6% remaja wanita tergolong obesitas dengan kadar lemak tubuh ≥25(♂) dan ≥35%(♀) pada usia 15-18 tahun. Baik remaja dengan obesitas maupun tidak obesitas kebanyakan mengonsumsi asupan energi secara berlebih 2443(761-5109)kkal atau sebanding dengan 104(35-230)% AKG dimana laki-laki lebih banyak dibandingkan perempuan. Asupan gizi rerata dengan komposisi 53.97±9.31% karbohidrat, 13.67±2.65% protein dan 31.41±8.12 % lemak. Kadar lemak pada pria (30,6±3,7%) lebih besar daripada pada wanita (21,4±5,3%).
Hubungan antara asupan energi, komposisi karbohidrat, protein dan lemak dengan tebal lipat kulit masing masing dengan p=0,703; p=0,189; p=0,319; p=0,804. Asupan energi yang berlebihan maupun komposisi karbohidrat, protein dan lemak tidak secara langsung berpengaruh terhadap status gizi berdasarkan tebal lipatan kulit. Status gizi berdasarkan tebal lipatan kulit dapat dipengaruhi oleh berbagai faktor lain di luar itu sehingga perlu diperhatikan hal-hal lain dalam memberikan intervensi kesehatan untuk memperbaiki kondisi obesitas.

Adolescent lifestyle changes led to an imbalance energy intake and physical activity lead to obesity which led to premature degenerative diseases. This study wanted to find energy intake and macronutrient composition as a factor influence skinfold thickness. The entire freshman aged 15-18 years (n=75) on June 2011were interviewed to exam the past month food intake, carbohydrates, protein and fat composition using FFQ questionnaire.
Subject were also had skinfold thickness at four sites examined, those measurement would lead to body fat percentage and had categorized into obesity and non-obesity. 25,8% male and 38,6 female adolescent were classified as obese with body fat percentage ≥ 25 (♂) and ≥ 35% (♀) at the age of 15-18 years. Both adolescents with obese and non-obese mostly consume excess energy intake 2443(761-5109) kcal equivalent to 104(35-230)% RDA, while male consumed 113(65-197)% RDA on average and female 107±39% RDA. The macronutrient diet compositions consist of 53.97±9.31% carbohydrate, 13.67±2.65% protein and 31.41±8.12% fat. Body fat percentages in male (30.6±3.7%) were greater than women (21.4±5.3%).
Relations between energy intake, carbohydrate, protein and fat composition with skinfold thickness is p = 0.703, p = 0.189, p = 0.319, p = 0.804 respectively. Excessive energy intake and carbohydrates, protein and fats composition do not directly affect the nutritional status based on skinfold thickness. Nutritional status based on skinfold thickness could be affected by other factors that need to be considered, especially in delivering health interventions to improve the adolescent obesity condition.

"Obesitas menjadi tantangan serius di dunia. Konsumsi protein adalah salah satu faktor penting yang berkontribusi terhadap regulasi lemak tubuh, tetapi informasi mengenai sumber protein specific dan pengaruhnya terhadap regulasi lemak di negara berkembang masih terbatas. Sehingga, peneliti ingin mengetahui hubungan antara asupan protein dan sumbernya dengan obesitas pada orang dewasa di Indonesia. Studi cross-sectional ini melibatkan 167 orang dewasa berusia 19-50 tahun di perkotaan Jakarta Timur. Asupan protein didapatkan dari repeated 24H Recall yang diklasifikasikan sebagai asupan rendah dan tinggi protein. Persentase lemak tubuh diukur dengan metode Air Displacement Plethysmograph yang diklasifikasikan sebagai obesitas wanita (>33%) dan obesitas pria (>25%). Sekitar 69% subjek mengalami obesitas. Sumber utama asupan protein nabati dan hewani berasal dari sereal dan produknya (median =11,3 gr/hari atau 22,9% dari total protein), dan unggas (median =7,85 gr/hari atau 15,9% dari total protein). Setelah penyesuaian terhadap status perkawinan dan jenis kelamin mendapatkan hasil bahwa asupan tinggi protein tidak berhubungan dengan obesitas (OR 1,84, p-value = 0,15), dan jenis asupan protein hewani atau nabati tidak berhubungan dengan obesitas (OR protein hewan 0879, p-value = 0,69; OR protein nabati 0,95, p-value =0,98). Promosi jenis konsumsi protein harus diperhatikan agar berhasil menurunkan prevalensi obesitas di negara ini.

Obesity is becoming a serious challenge worldwide. Protein consumption is one of the important contributing factors to body fat regulation, but existing information has limitedly explored type of protein and its influence for fat regulation in developing world. Therefore, we investigated the association between protein intake and its sources with obesity. This cross-sectional study involved 167 adults aged in East Jakarta. Protein intake were collected from repeated 24-hour recalls that was classified as low and high intake. Body fat percentage was measured by Air Displacement Plethysmograph method and classified as female obese (>33%) and male obese (>25%). About 69% of subjects were obese. The main sources of plant and animal protein intake came from cereals and its products (median=11.3 gr/day or 22.9% of protein intake), and white meat (median=7.85 gr/day or 15.9% of protein intake), respectively. After adjustment for marital status and sex those who had higher protein intake did not associated with being obese (Adjusted OR 1.84, p-value=0.15), while, animal-plant protein intake was not associated with obesity (Adjusted OR 0.879 animal protein, p-value=0.69; OR 0.95 plant protein, p-value=0.98). The promotion of type of protein consumption must be concerning to successfully lower the prevalence of obesity in the country."

"Persen lemak tubuh (PLT) berlebih yang tergolong obesitas merupakan faktor risiko penyakit degeneratif salah satunya diabetes. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui faktor-faktor yang berhubungan dengan persen lemak tubuh pada polisi laki-laki Kabupaten Purworejo (n = 100; usia 30?58 tahun) diantaranya karakteristik individu, asupan, dan aktivitas fisik. Penelitian ini bersifat kuantitatif dengan desain studi potong lintang. Hasil penelitian menemukan 54% polisi tergolong obesitas. Faktor yang berhubungan dengan PLT diantaranya asupan energi (p=0,0001;CI 95%), protein (p=0,007; CI 95%), lemak (p=0,018; CI 95%), karbohidrat (p=0,001; CI 95%), indeks glikemik (IG) pangan (p=0,0001 ; CI 95%), dan aktivitas fisik (p=0,025; CI 95%). Hasil ini menunjukkan sebaiknya polisi memiliki asupan yang cukup, meningkatkan asupan serat, mengurangi makanan dengan IG tinggi, dan meningkatkan aktivitas fisik.

Abstract
Excess of body fat percentage (BFP) is a risk factor of degenerative illness. The objective of this study was to investigate the relation between factors of body fat percentage in policemen Purworejo Regency. This factors were individual characteristic, macronutrient, fiber intake, and physical activity. Design of this study is cross sectional. This study revealed that 54% polices were obese. Some factor positively associated with BFP were energy intake (p=0,0001; CI 95%), protein (p=0,007; CI 95%), fat (p=0,018; CI 95%), carbohydrate (p=0,001; CI 95%), glycemic index (GI) (p=0,000 ; CI 95%), and physical activity (p=0,025; CI 95%). Results suggest that policemen has to adequate intake, increase fiber intake, decrease food with high GI, and increase physical activity"

Pola makan menjadi salah satu aspek yang turut terdampak akibat tersebarnya budaya barat ke seluruh dunia secara cepat. Saat ini makanan siap saji menjadi salah satu jenis makanan yang digemari banyak orang, termasuk anak-anak. Hal ini menimbulkan masalah baru karena kandungan makanan siap saji yang tinggi akan kalori, sodium, serta rendah serat dapat menimbulkan masalah kesehatan jika dikonsumsi berlebihan. Kelebihan kalori dalam tubuh dapat menyebabkan peningkatan simpanan lemak tubuh yang apabila terjadi dalam waktu lama akan menjadi penyebab berbagai masalah kesehatan. Penelitian menggunakan data sekunder sub-sampel dari penelitian South East Asian Nutrition Surveys (SEANUTS) 2.0 dengan jenis studi potong lintang dengan total sampel sebanyak 95 anak, terdiri atas 39 anak laki-laki dan 56 anak perempuan. Kebiasaan konsumsi makanan siap saji dinilai menggunakan kuesioner Child Food Habit Questionairre (CFH), sedangkan persentase lemak tubuh diukur menggunakan Body Composition Analyzer. Karakteristik subjek penelitian merupakan anak usia 7—12 tahun yang berasal dari wilayah Jakarta Utara dan Kepulauan Seribu. Konsumsi makanan siap saji sebanyak 1 bulan sekali menjadi konsumsi terbanyak pada populasi dengan persentase 15,8% serta nilai persentase lemak tubuh dengan median 14,2%. Berdasarkan uji Kruskal-Wallis, didapatkan korelasi yang signifikan antara Kebiasaan konsumsi makanan siap saji (p=0,001), usia (p=0,047), IMT (p=0,001), aktivitas fisik (p=0,001), dan pendidikan ayah (p=0,010) dengan persentase lemak tubuh. Selain itu, berdasarkan uji regresi linear berganda diketahui bahwa IMT (p=0,001) dan aktivitas fisik (p=0,001) memiliki pengaruh yang signifikan terhdap persentase lemak tubuh. Kebiasaan konsumsi makanan siap saji berhubungan dengan persentase lemak tubuh pada anak usia sekolah di Provinsi DKI Jakarta. Faktor yang memengaruhi persentase lemak tubuh adalah IMT dan aktivitas fisik.

The influence of globalization and urbanization causes the spread of information and culture very quickly. Diet is one aspect that is also affected by the rapid spread of western culture throughout the world. Currently, fast food has become a type of food that is popular with many people, including children. This creates new problems because fast foods that are high in calories and sodium and low in fiber can cause health problems if consumed in excess. Excess calories in the body can cause increased body fat stores. If this occurs for a long time, it will cause various health problems. The research used secondary data from the South East Asian Nutrition Surveys (SEANUTS) 2.0 research with a cross-sectional study design. This study used subsample data from the SEANUTS study with a total sample of  95 children, consisting of  39 boys and 56 girls. Fast food consumption habits were assessed using the CFH questionnaire, while body fat percentage was measured using the Body Composition Analyzer. The characteristics of the research subjects were children aged 7-12 years who came from Jakarta Utara and Kepulauan Seribu. Consuming fast food once a month is the highest consumption in the population with a percentage of 15.8%, as well as the median value of body fat percentage was 14.2 percent. Based on the Kruskal-Wallis test, a significant correlation was found between fast food consumption habits (p=0.001), age (p=0.047), BMI (p=0.001), physical activity (p=0.001), and father's education (p= 0.010) with body fat percentage. Apart from that, based on the multiple linear regression test, it is known that BMI (p=0.001) and physical activity (p=0.001) have a significant influence on body fat percentage. The habit of consuming fast food is related to the percentage of body fat in school-aged children in DKI Jakarta Province. Factors that influence body fat percentage are BMI and physical activity."

"Inflamasi derajat rendah diduga terlibat dalam patogenesis penyakit kronis yang
terjadi secara global. Salah satu penanda inflamasi yang kerap digunakan adalah
high sensitivity C-reactive protein (hsCRP). Asupan serat pangan yang lebih rendah
diduga berperan terhadap kadar hsCRP serum, akan tetapi hasil penelitian
sebelumnya masih bervariasi. Studi ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui korelasi antara
asupan serat pangan dengan kadar hsCRP serum pada pekerja sedentari usia 19-49
tahun di Jakarta Timur, Indonesia. Studi ini merupakan studi potong lintang pada
58 pekerja sedentari yang dilaksanakan pada Bulan Agustus hingga Oktober 2020.
Data dasar dikumpulkan memakai kuesioner. Asupan makanan dicatat dengan 3-
day food record dan dilakukan pengukuran antropometri untuk mengetahui indeks
massa tubuh (IMT) dan ukuran lingkar pinggang. Pemeriksaan hsCRP serum
memakai metode imunoturbidimetri. Analisis untuk menilai korelasi antara asupan
serat pangan dan kadar hsCRP serum dilakukan menggunakan uji Spearman jika
nilai p<0,05 dianggap bermakna. Mayoritas subjek adalah perempuan, tidak
merokok, dengan aktivitas fisik kurang dan memiliki status gizi normal serta tidak
obesitas abdominal. Berdasarkan data asupan makanan didapatkan asupan energi,
karbohidrat total, dan serat pangan total berada dibawah rekomendasi AKG. Hanya
asupan lemak total yang sesuai dengan rekomendasi AKG. Asupan serat pangan
total didapatkan sebesar 7,45 g/hari. Nilai hsCRP serum masih dalam batasan
normal, yaitu sebesar 0,4 mg/L. Pada analisis bivariat tidak didapatkan korelasi
antara asupan serat pangan dengan kadar hsCRP serum (r=0,003, p=0,981). Hasil
penelitian ini tidak mendapatkan adanya korelasi antara asupan serat pangan
dengan kadar hsCRP serum, namun diketahui asupan serat pangan masih sangat
rendah sehingga perlu dilakukan promosi kesehatan untuk meningkatkan asupan
serat pangan pada pekerja sedentari.

Low grade inflammation has previously been linked to the global development of
chronic disease. High sensitivity C-reactive protein (hsCRP) is commonly used to
detect inflammation. Low dietary fiber intake was hypothesized to have an effect
on serum hsCRP concentration. To this day, studies on the relationship between
dietary fiber and serum hsCRP have shown inconclusive result. In this study, we
aimed to find a correlation between dietary fiber intake and serum hsCRP on
sedentary worker age 19-49 years old at East Jakarta, Indonesia. This was a cross
sectional study on 58 sedentary workers. This study was conducted in August-
October 2020. Subject’s characteristics was obtained using a questionnaire. Dietary
assessment was conducted using 3-day food record. Anthropometic measurements
included body mass index (BMI) and waist circumference. Serum hsCRP
concentrations were measured using immune turbidimetry. Spearman test was used
to determine correlation between dietary fiber intake and serum hsCRP, with
p<0,05 being significant. Subjects were mostly female, non-smoker, with
inadequate physical activity. A majority of subjects had normal BMI and waist
circumference. Dietary assessment showed subject has inadequate intake of energy,
carbohydrate, and dietary fiber. Only fat intake was adequate in the present study.
Total dietary fiber intake was 7,45 g/day. Median value of serum hsCRP was 0,4
mg/L. There was no correlation between dietary fiber intake and serum hsCRP
(r=0,003, p=0,981). However, this study found that dietary fiber intake was very
low. Thus, education on increasing dietary fiber intake is necessary for sedentary
workers.
