"Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menguji peran media sosial, khususnya Twitter, sebagai media pengungkapan informasi oleh perusahaan terhadap atensi investor. Salah satu alasan utama perusahaan menggunakan media sosial adalah untuk menarik investor dan meningkatkan kinerja keuangannya. Beberapa studi sebelumnya menemukan bahwa baik media sosial dan atensi investor mempengaruhi imbal hasil saham, likuiditas dan volatilitas. Penelitian ini membandingkan antara sebelum dan sesudah perusahaan mengadopsi Twitter untuk mengumumkan labanya. Studi ini tidak memperlihatkan perbedaan atensi investor yang signifikan antara sebelum dan setelah adopsi Twitter. Tetapi, ketika perusahaan mendiseminasikan persentasi penurunan laba melalui Twitter, perusahaan dapat meningkatkan atensi investor secara signifikan. Berita baik dan buruk juga dapat terkait dengan akumulasi perhatian investor.

The purpose of this study is to examine the role of social media, specifically Twitter, as a voluntary disclosure media on investor attention. One of the main reason for a firm to use social media is to attract investors and to improve their financial performance. Previous studies find that both social media and investor attention affect stock return, liquidity, and volatility. This study compares investor attention between before and after firms adopting Twitter to disseminates their earnings announcement. This study does not reveal significant investor attention difference between before and after Twitter adoption as earnings announcement dissemination tool. However, when a firm disseminates earnings decline percentage through Twitter, the firm can significantly increase investor attention. Good news and bad news also can relate to cumulative investor attention."

Daya tarik media sosial saat ini menimbulkan masalah yang memprihatinkan. Salah satunya adalah semakin banyaknya fenomena kecanduan media sosial. Faktor utama yang menyebabkan kecanduan media sosial adalah penggunaan media sosial sebagai alat untuk berinteraksi dan mendapatkan umpan balik dari orang lain, atau sebagai alat untuk melakukan attention-seeking. Harga diri yang terdefinisi dengan baik adalah kebutuhan dasar setiap individu, dan media sosial dapat digunakan untuk memenuhi kebutuhan ini. Semakin banyak perhatian yang didapat pengguna, semakin besar kontrol pengguna untuk mengubah persepsi orang lain tentang mereka. Persepsi pengguna media sosial pada citra diri mereka sendiri akan berdampak pada aspek psikologis diri mereka, dan hal ini telah dibuktikan oleh beberapa penelitian terdahulu. Namun, penggunaan media sosial sebagai alat attention-seeking mungkin tidak hanya berdampak pada aspek psikologis individu, tetapi juga pada aspek sosial - meningkatkan modal sosial pengguna - dan ekonomi - meningkatkan peluang pengguna untuk mendapatkan pekerjaan atau aspek penghasil pendapatan lainnya--. Namun, belum ditemukan penelitian terdahulu mengenai perilaku attention-seeking melalui media sosial dan dampaknya terhadap aspek sosioekonomi pengguna. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menjawab pertanyaan apakah perilaku attention-seeking melalui media sosial memberikan manfaat sosioekonomi. Sebuah survei diantara 883 pengguna media sosial di Indonesia, dan analisis dari profil responden menunjukkan bahwa perilaku attention-seeking di media sosial, melalui upaya pemasaran diri, memiliki hubungan yang signifikan dan positif dengan manfaat sosioekonomi yang dirasakan


The appeal of social media is currently evoking a matter of concern. One of which is the growing number of social media addicts. The main factor that causes social media addiction is the use of social media as a tool to interact and get feedback from others or to seek attention from other users. Well-defined self-worth is the basic need of every individual, and social media could be used to meet this need. The more attention the user gets, the more control the user has to change other peoples perceptions of them. The perception of social media users on their self-image will have an impact on the psychological aspect of themselves, and it is already proven by several studies. However, the use of social media as an attention-seeking tool is might not only have an impact on the individuals psychological aspect but also on their social increases users social capital and economic increases users opportunity to get a job or other income-generating activities aspects. Yet, previous studies regarding attention-seeking behavior through social media had only been focused on its impact on the psychological aspect. Therefore, this study aims to answer the question of whether attention-seeking behavior through social media exerts socioeconomic benefits. A survey among 883 social media users in Indonesia and a content analysis of the respondents profiles shows that attention-seeking behavior through social media, through self-marketing attempts, is strongly and positively related to perceived socioeconomic benefit.

"Computer Vision Syndrome (CVS) merupakan permasalahan kompleks pada mata dan daya penglihatan terkait dengan penggunaan komputer. Penurunan frekuensi kedipan sebesar 60% saat penggunaan komputer meningkatkan risiko mata kering dan gejala- gejala lain terkait CVS. Di perlukan intervensi ergonomi sebagai strategi preventif risiko CVS, salah satunya adalah media breakpoint of attention yang dapat memicu timbulnya kedipan yang teratur. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi media breakpoint of attention dalam bentuk visual (yang diwakili dengan aplikasi blink-blink) dan audio (yang diwakili dengan aplikasi metronome) sebagai countermeasure CVS. Pengambilan data dilakukan menggunakan eye-tracker kepada 30 orang dengan metode pengukuran yang digunakan adalah frekuensi kedipan keseluruhan, frekuensi kedipan yang terindikasi lelah (durasi kedipan > 500 ms) dan kuesioner keluhan mata. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa aplikasi blink-blink lebih unggul dibanding metronome dalam meningkatkan frekuensi kedipan secara keseluruhan, mengurangi frekuensi kedipan yang terindikasi lelah serta berdasarkan nilai subjektif keluhan mata.

Computer Vision Syndrome (CVS) is a complex problem in the eyes and vision that is related to computer use. A 60% reduction in the frequency of blinking during computer use increases the risk of dry eyes and other symptoms related to CVS. There is need from ergonomics intervention as a CVS risk preventive strategy, one of them is a media breakpoint of attention that can trigger the appearance of regular blinks. This study aims to evaluate the media breakpoint of attention in visual form (which is represented by blink-blink application) and audio (which is represented by metronome application) as a CVS countermeasure. Data retrieval is done using an eye-tracker to 30 people with the measurement method used is the overall blink rate, the frequency of blink duration that is indicated to be fatigue (duration of blinking > 500 ms) and eye complaints questionnaire. The results of this study indicate that the blink-blink application is statistically better than metronome in increasing the overall blink frequency, reducing the frequency of blinking which is indicated to be fatigue and from subjective value of eye complaints.
