"Osteoartritis OA adalah penyakit sendi kronis yang merupakan penyebab utama disabilitas menahun di dunia saat ini. Salah satu faktor yang berperan penting dalam patogenesis OA adalah terjadinya stres oksidatif berlebih, yang menginduksi kerusakan kondrosit akibat dan ditandai dengan peningkatan kadar malondialdehid MDA . Asam lemak omega-3 memiliki peran dalam menghambat terjadinya stres oksidatif, namun sebaliknya asam lemak omega-6 memiliki fungsi yang berlawanan. Kedua asam lemak ini bersifat esensial di dalam tubuh, dan kadarnya ditentukan oleh asupan dari bahan makanan sumber. Rasio antara asupan asam lemak omega-6/omega-3 yang optimal dapat mengurangi terjadinya stres oksidatif dalam tubuh. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk melihat hubungan antara rasio asupan asam lemak omega-6/omega-3 terhadap kadar MDA plasma pada pasien OA lutut. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain potong lintang, dilakukan di poli ortopedi RS Bhayangkara Tk I RS. Sukanto dan RSUPN Cipto Mangunkusumo Jakarta, terhadap pasien OA lutut derajat 2-4, berusia 40-60 tahun, pada bulan April-Mei 2018. Asupan asam lemak omega-3 dan omega-6 untuk 1 bulan ke belakang didapatkan dengan menggunakan semi-quantitative food frequency questionnaire. Besarnya rasio asupan asam lemak omega-6/omega-3 dihitung dengan cara membagi rata-rata asupan harian asam lemak omega-6 total dengan rata-rata asupan harian asam lemak omega-3 total. Kadar MDA plasma diukur dengan metode spektrofotometri. Dari 57 subjek yang mengikuti penelitian, didapatkan rerata usia 50 tahun, sebanyak 87,7 adalah subjek perempuan, serta sebagian besar 89,5 masuk dalam kategori obesitas. Persentase asupan kedua asam lemak masih kurang bila dibandingkan dengan Angka Kecukupan Gizi AKG , dengan nilai tengah asupan asam lemak omega-3 total subjek adalah 0,864 0,351-2,200 g/hari, sedangkan asupan asam lemak omega-6 total sebesar 6,830 3,066-19,110 g/hari. Didapatkan rerata rasio asupan asam lemak omega-6/omega-3 yaitu 8,8:1, dan rerata kadar MDA plasma pada subjek sebesar 0,773 0,199 nmol/mL. Setelah mengontrol faktor usia, IMT dan skor aktivitas fisik dengan uji regresi linear ganda, didapatkan hasil setiap kenaikan 1 unit rasio asupan asam lemak omega-6/omega-3 dapat meningkatkan kadar MDA plasma sebesar 0,023 nmol/mL = 0,023, 95 CI = 0,004 ndash; 0,042, p = 0,017 . Rasio asupan asam lemak omega-6/omega-3 yang tinggi berhubungan dengan peningkatan kadar MDA plasma pada pasien OA lutut derajat II-IV. Oleh karena itu diperlukan edukasi untuk mendapatkan rasio yang optimal sehingga dapat mecegah peningkatan progresivitas OA lutut.

Osteoarthritis OA is a chronic disease characterized by joint pain, and is a major cause of disability in the patient. One of several factors in the pathogenesis of OA is the generation of oxidative stress, inducing chondrocytes apoptosis due to lipid peroxidation, characterized by the increasing of malondialdehyde MDA level. Omega 3 fatty acids have role in inhibiting the oxidative stress, meanwhile omega 6 hold contradicting role. Both fatty acids are essential in human body, and their levels are determined by the intake from the food sources. The omega 6 omega 3 ratio should be optimal in order to reduce the oxidative stress. This study aims to investigate the association between the ratio of omega 6 omega 3 fatty acids intake to MDA plasma level in patients with knee OA. This was a cross sectional study, conducted at orthopedic clinic at Bhayangkara RS. Sukanto Hospital and Cipto Mangunkusumo Hospital Jakarta, in patients with II IV grade Kellgren Lawrence of knee OA, aged between 40 60 years. The 1 month history of omega 3 and omega 6 intake was obtained by using semi quantitative food frequency questionnaire. The omega 6 omega 3 ratio was calculated by dividing the average daily intake of total omega 6 fatty acids by the average daily intake of total omega 3 fatty acids. The MDA plasma level was measured by spectrophotometry method. Of 57 subjects participated, the mean age was 50 years, 87,7 were female, and mostly 89,5 were obese. The percentage of both fatty acids intake was below the Recommended Dietary Allowance RDA , the median for omega 3 and omega 6 intake were 0,864 0,351 2,200 g day and 6,830 3,066 19,110 g day. Thus the ratio of omega 6 omega 3 intake was 8,8 1, and the mean MDA plasma level was 0,773 0,199 nmol mL. The age, BMI, and physical activity score variables were then controlled through multiple linear regression test. The results found were the increase of 1 unit of omega 6 omega 3 intake ratio would increase MDA level of 0,023 nmol mL 0,023, 95 CI 0,004 ndash 0,042, p 0,017 . A high ratio of omega 6 omega 3 intake is associated with elevated plasma MDA level in knee OA patients. Therefore, a subsequent education is necessary in achieving optimal ratio thus prevent the progressivity of knee OA."

"Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui asupan asam amino taurin dan korelasinya dengan aktivitas superoksida dismutase pada darah pasien osteoartritis lutut. Pada osteoartritis terjadi ketidakseimbangan antara prooksidan dengan antioksidan sehingga menimbulkan keadaan yang disebut stres oksidatif. Antioksidan enzimatik superoksida dismutase berperan dalam mencegah terjadinya stres oksidatif dengan cara memutus reaksi berantai radikal bebas sejak awal. Superoksida dismutase bekerja dengan cara mengkatalisis superoksida menjadi hidrogen peroksida. Pada osteoartritis diketahui terjadi peningkatan superoksida dan penurunan aktivitas superoksida dismutase. Asam amino taurin merupakan asam amino yang terdapat dalam jumlah tinggi di tubuh namun tidak ikut berperan serta dalam sintesis protein. Asam amino taurin banyak terdapat dalam bahan makanan sumber protein hewani terutama ikan, daging dan hasil laut. Asam amino taurin mempunyai beberapa sifat antara lain sebagai antioksidan, antiinflamasi, dan kondroprotektif. Penelitian ini menggunakan disain potong lintang dengan melibatkan 56 subjek OA lutut yang direkrut melalui consecutive sampling. Asupan taurin diambil dengan metode FFQ semikuantitatif. Sampel aktivitas superoksida dismutase diambil dari darah dan diukur menggunakan RANSOD SD 125 dengan metode spektrofotometri. Uji statistik menggunakan uji korelasi dengan SPSS. Rerata usia adalah 50,75 6,17 tahun, sebanyak 89,3 berjenis kelamin perempuan. Median asupan asam amino taurin adalah 59,77 15,96-278,57 mg per hari. Median aktivitas superoksida dismutase adalah 274,97 152,48-360,97 unit/mL dan didapatkan sebanyak 64,3 subjek dengan aktivitas superoksida dismutase yang meningkat. Pada penelitian ini didapatkan korelasi positif bermakna dengan kekuatan lemah p = 0,034, r = 0,284 antara asupan asam amino taurin dengan aktivitas superoksida dismutase pada pasien osteoartritis lutut. Kesimpulan: asupan asam amino taurin mungkin mempunyai peranan dengan aktivitas superoksida dismutase pada pasien osteoartritis lutut.
The aim of this research was to observe the correlation between taurine amino acid intakes and superoxide dismutase activities on knee osteoarthritis patients. In osteoarthritis there is an imbalance state between pro oxidant and anti oxidant causing oxidative stress. The enzymatic anti oxidant superoxide dismutase plays an important role in stopping the occurrence of oxidative stress by cutting off the free radicals rsquo chain reaction from the beginning. Superoxide dismutase works by catalyzing superoxide into hydrogen peroxide. Osteoarthritis cases are known by the increase of superoxide and the decrease of superoxide dismutase activities. Taurine is an amino acid that is found abundant in human body that does not play a role in protein synthesis reaction. Taurine amino acid is found in several food sources including fish, meat, and seafood. Taurine amino acid has several characteristics including anti oxidant, anti inflammatory, and chondro protective. This study used cross sectional design with 56 knee osteoarthritis subjects recruited through consecutive sampling. Taurine intake was obtained by semiquantitative FFQ method. The superoxide dismutase activity sample was obtained from whole blood and measured using RANSOD SD 125 with spectrophotometric method. The statistical test used correlation test with SPSS. The mean age was 50.75 6.17 years old, with 89.3 of them were females. Median for taurine intakes was 59.77 15.96 ndash 278.57 mg per day. Median for the superoxide dismutase activities was 274.97 152.48 ndash 360.97 unit per ml, and 64.3 of the subjects with increasing superoxide dismutase activity. This research found a positive yet low significant correlation p 0,034, r 0,284 between taurine amino acid intakes and superoxide dismutase activity in patients with knee osteoarthritis. Conclusion The taurine amino acid intake may have a role with the superoxide dismutase activity in patients with knee osteoarthritis."

"Pendahuluan: Depresi mempengaruhi 45,19% pasien tuberkulosis paru (TB) dalam kepatuhan terhadap pengobatan, yang menyebabkan peningkatan morbiditas dan kematian, resistensi obat yang meningkat, serta penularan penyakit yang terus berlanjut. Usia, jenis kelamin, pendidikan, pendapatan, status gizi, komorbiditas, fase terapi, dan status HIV adalah faktor-faktor yang dapat berkontribusi terhadap depresi pada pasien TB. Infeksi Mycobacterium tuberculosis menyebabkan peradangan sistemik, mengubah respons pusat sistem kekebalan tubuh di sistem saraf pusat, mengaktifkan sumsum tulang belakang-hipotalamus-kelenjar adrenal (HPA) dan saraf simpatis, serta berkontribusi terhadap masalah psikiatri. Komposisi asam lemak, termasuk jumlah tinggi EPA dan DHA, mempengaruhi fungsi sel dengan memodifikasi pola produksi eikosanoid, resolvin, dan protektin. Selain itu, fluiditas membran sel yang meningkat dengan peningkatan asam lemak omega-3 dibandingkan dengan asam lemak omega-6 mempengaruhi kejadian depresi.
Metode: Studi ini merupakan studi potong lintang terhadap 99 orang dengan TB paru. Data dikumpulkan menggunakan Semi-Kuantitatif Food Frequency Questionnaire (SQ-FFQ), pengukuran antropometri, dan Beck Depression Inventory-II (BDI-II).
Hasil: Analisis korelasi menggunakan uji Spearman menunjukkan rasio asupan omega-6/omega-3 PUFA sebesar 7,78 ± 1,13, dengan nilai median skor depresi sebesar 9 (10-36). Tidak ada korelasi antara asupan omega-6/omega-3 PUFA dan skor depresi (r=0,063; p = 0,534).
Kesimpulan: Tidak ada korelasi antara rasio asupan omega-6/omega-3 PUFA dan skor depresi pada pasien TB paru. 

Introduction: Depression affects 45.19% of pulmonary tuberculosis (TB) patients in their adherence to treatment, leading to increased morbidity, mortality, drug resistance, and disease transmission. Factors like age, gender, education, income, nutrition, comorbidities, therapy phase, and HIV status contribute to TB-related depression. Mycobacterium tuberculosis infection induces systemic inflammation, alters the immune response in the central nervous system, activates the hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal (HPA) axis and sympathetic nerves, and influences psychiatric issues. Fatty acid composition, particularly high levels of EPA and DHA, modifies cellular function by affecting eicosanoid, resolvin, and protectin production. The greater cell membrane fluidity with omega-3 fatty acids compared to omega-6 fatty acids affects depression occurrence.
Methods: A cross-sectional study of 99 individuals with pulmonary TB was conducted. Data was collected using the Semi-Quantitative Food Frequency Questionnaire (SQ-FFQ), anthropometric measurements, and Beck Depression Inventory-II (BDI-II).
Results: Spearman correlation analysis revealed an omega-6/omega-3 PUFA intake ratio of 7.78 ± 1.13, with a median depression score of 9 (10-36). No correlation was found between omega-6/omega-3 PUFA intake and depression score (r=0.063; p = 0.534).
Conclusion: No correlation exists between the omega-6/omega-3 PUFA intake ratio and depression scores in pulmonary TB patients.

"Tujuan: Mengetahui hubungan antara asupan asam lemak tak jenuh tunggal (ALTJT) serta faktor-faktor lainnya dengan kadar kolesterol high density lipoprotein (HDL) plasma penderita penyakit jantung koroner (PJK).
Tempat: Rumah Sakit Jantung Harapan Kita.
Metodologi: Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kasus-kontrol tanpa berpasangan, yang telah disetujui oleh panitia tetap penilai etik penelitian Fakultas Kedokteran Universitas Indonesia. Sebanyak 134 orang penderita PJK diikut sertakan dalarn penelitian ini, terdiri dari 67 orang kelompok kasus (kadar kolesterol HDL plasma <35 mg/dL) dan 67 orang kelompok kontrol (kadar, kolesterol HDL plasma (35 mg/dL). Pengambilan subyek penelitian dilakukan dengan metode consecutive sampling. Data yang dikumpulkan meliputi: karakteristik demografi, asupan zat gizi makro dengan metode tanya ulang 1x24 jam dan food frequency questionnaire (FFQ) semikuantitatif 3 bulan terakhir, kebiasaan olahraga, merokok, minum alkohol, indeks massa tubuh (IMT) dan rasio lingkar pinggang/lingkar panggul (rasio Lpi/Lpa).
Hasil: Berdasarkan karakteristik demografi, kelompok kasus dan kontrol setara. Asupan ALTJT kelompok kontrol lebih tinggi dibandingkan kelompok kasus namun tidak berbeda bermakna. IMT kedua kelompok berada pada kategori obes I dan tidak berbeda bermakna. Terdapat hubungan yang bermakna antara rasio Lpi/Lpa dengan kadar kolesterol HDL plasma (p=0,034;OR=2,55; 95%CI=1,06-6,15). Didapatkan korelasi positif yang bermakna antara asupan ALTJT dengan kadar kolesterol HDL pada kelompok kontrol Terdapat korelasi negatif yang bermakna antara rasio Lpi/Lpa dengan kadar kolesterol HDL plasma pada kelompok kontrol (p=0,03;r=0.23). Tidak didapatkan hubungan yang bermakna antara variabel-variabel lain yang diteliti dengan kadar kolesterol HDL plasma.
Kesimpulan:
1. Terdapat korelasi positif yang bermakna antara asupan ALTJT dengan kadar kolesterol HDL plasma pada kelompok control.
2. Terdapat korelasi negatif yang bermakna dari rasio Lpi/Lpa dengan kadar kolesterol HDL plasma pada kelompok kontrol.
3. Terdapat hubungan yang bermakna antara rasio Lpi/Lpa dengan kadar kolesterol HDL plasma.
4. Hubungan antara asupan ALTJT (15% dari kalori total dengan kadar kolesterol HDL plasma, pada penelitian ini belum dapat dibuktikan.)

Objective: The aim of this study was to determine the relationship between of mono unsaturated fatty acid (MUFA) intake and other factors with plasma high density lipoprotein (HDL) cholesterol level on coronary heart diseases (CHD) patients.
Place: Rumah Sakit Jantung Harapan Kita.
Method: The design was unmatched case- control study, which has been approved by ethical committee Faculty of Medicine University of Indonesia. One hundred and thirty four patients with CHD as subjects of the study, consist two groups. 67 subjects as case (plasma HDL cholesterol < 35 mg/dL) and 67 subjects as control group (plasma HDL cholesterol (35 mg/dL) respectively. Consecutive sampling method was used to obtain the subjects. Data collected were demographic characteristics, macronutrient intake using 24 hours recall and semiquantitative food frequency questionnaire (FR)) method in the last three month, smoking habit, alcohol consumption, exercise, body mass index (BMI), and waist hip ratio (WHR) measurements.
Results: Demographic characteristic of both groups were similar. MUFA intake in the control group was higher than case, but no significant difference was found between groups. No significant difference was found in term of the BMI between case and control group. There was significant relationship between WHR and plasma HDL cholesterol (p0.034; OR=2,55; 95%CI= 1,06-6,15). Significant positive correlation between MUFA intake and plasma HDL cholesterol in the control group was found (p=O,Ol;r~,29). There was significant negative correlation between WHR and plasma HDL cholesterol in the control group (p=),03;r=-0,23). Other variables did not show any relationship with plasma HDL cholesterol.
Conclusion:
1. There was significant positive correlation between MUFA intake and plasma HDL cholesterol and negative correlation between WHR and plasma HDL cholesterol in the control group.
2. There was significant relationship between WHR and plasma HDL cholesterol. Relationship between of MUFA intake (l5% total calorie and plasma HDL cholesterol has not been proved yet.

Latar Belakang : Inflamasi kronik berhubungan dengan tumor dan menyebabkan prognosis yang buruk pada pasien kanker. Salah satu penanda inflamasi yang meningkat pada tumor adalah C-Reactive Protein (CRP). Kadar CRP meningkat pada lebih dari 50% pasien keganasan. Peningkatan CRP berhubungan kuat dengan keparahan penyakit pada beberapa kanker. Salah satu zat gizi dalam inflamasi adalah asam lemak omega-3. Asam lemak omega-3 dapat meningkatkan pembentukan specialized pro-resolving mediators (SPM) yang berfungsi meningkatkan mediator antiinflamasi, melindungi blood brain barrier, menurunkan sitokin proinflamasi, menurunkan apoptosis neuron. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menilai hubungan asupan asam lemak omega-3 dengan CRP pada pasien tumor sistem saraf pusat.
Metode : Studi potong lintang ini dilakukan pada subjek berusia 18-65 tahun di RSUPN Cipto Mangunkusumo pada bulan November hingga Desember 2023. Pengukuran CRP menggunakan metode immunoturbidimetric assay. Pengambilan asupan asam lemak omega-3 menggunakan Food Frequency Questionnaires semikuantitatif. Analisis bivariat digunakan untuk menilai hubungan antara variabel bebas dan terikat.
Hasil : Dari total 63 subjek penelitian, sebanyak 35 subjek (55,6%) pada kelompok asupan asam lemak omega-3 < 2 g/hari dan 28 subjek (44,4%) pada kelompok asupan asam lemak omega-3 ≥ 2 g/hari. Nilai median CRP 8,3 (0,6 – 71,5) mg/L. Tidak terdapat hubungan yang bermakna (p = 0,714) antara asupan asam lemak omega-3 dengan CRP pada pasien tumor sistem saraf pusat.
Kesimpulan : Tidak terdapat hubungan bermakna antara asupan asam lemak omega-3 dengan CRP pada pasien tumor sistem saraf pusat.

Background: Chronic inflammation is associated with tumors and causes poor prognosis in tumor patients. One of the inflammatory markers that increase in tumors is C-Reactive Protein (CRP). CRP levels are elevated in more than 50% of patients with malignancies. Elevated CRP is associated with disease severity in some cancers. One of the nutrients in inflammation is omega-3 fatty acids. Omega-3 fatty acids can increase the formation of specialized pro-resolving mediators (SPM) which function to increase anti-inflammatory mediators, protect the blood brain barrier, reduce pro-inflammatory cytokines, reduce neuron apoptosis. This study aims to assess the relationship between omega-3 fatty acid intake and CRP in patients with central nervous system tumors.
Methods: This cross-sectional study was conducted on subjects aged 18-65 years at Cipto Mangunkusumo Hospital from November to December 2023. CRP measurement using immunoturbidimetric assay method. Omega-3 fatty acid intake was collected using semiquantitative Food Frequency Questionnaire. Bivariate analysis was used to assess the relationship between independent and dependent variables.
Results: From the total 63 research subjects, 35 subjects (55,6%) in the omega-3 fatty acid intake group < 2 g/day and 28 subjects (44,4%) in the omega-3 fatty acid intake group ≥ 2 g/day. The median CRP value was 8.3 (0.6 - 71.5) mg/L. There was no significant relationship (p = 0,714) between omega-3 fatty acid intake and CRP in patients with central nervous system tumors.
Conclusion: There is no significant relationship between omega-3 fatty acid intake and CRP in patients with central nervous system tumors.

Penurunan massa otot pada usia lanjut menimbulkan sarkopenia,salah satu penyebabnya adalah proses inflamasi. Rasio asam lemak omega-3/omega-6 dapat memengaruhi proses inflamasi, namun hubungannya dengan massa otot masih menunjukkan hasil yang beragam. Penelitian potong lintang ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi korelasi rasio asupan asam lemak omega-3/omega-6 dan kadar asam lemak omega-3 dengan massa otot pada usia lanjut di lima panti wreda yang terdaftar di Kota Tangerang Selatan. Penelitian ini melibatkan 101 usila yang didapatkan menggunakan proportional random sampling. Rasio asupan asam lemak omega-3 dan omega-6 dinilai menggunakan food record 3x24 jam dan food frequency questionnaire semikuantitatif, kadar asam lemak omega-3 membran eritrosit diukur menggunakan gas chromatography-mass spectrometry, dan pemeriksaan massa otot menggunakan bioelectrical impedance analysis. Analisis korelasi menggunakan uji Spearman. Didapatkan rerata usia subjek adalah 75.5 ± 7.6 tahun dengan 73.3% subjek adalah perempuan. Rasio asupan asam lemak omega-3/omega-6 subjek menggunakan food record adalah 0,09 (0,05-0,22) dan 0,08 (0,05-0,23) menggunakan FFQ semikuantitatif. Nilai tengah kadar asam lemak omega-3 membran eritrosit subjek untuk ALA=10,06 (4,9-24,9) µg/mL, EPA=14,6 (5,06-81,02) µg/mL, DHA=115,5 (20,6-275,09) µg/mL, dan total omega-3=144,1 (89,3-332,1) µg/mL. Nilai tengah massa otot subjek adalah 35,5 (22,8-63,5) kg. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan tidak terdapat korelasi antara rasio asupan asam lemak omega-3/omega-6 dengan massa otot baik menggunakan food record (r = -0.2, p = 0.07), maupun FFQ semikuantitatif (r = 0.01, p = 0.9), dan tidak terdapat korelasi antara kadar ALA, EPA, DHA, total asam lemak omega-3 membran eritrosit dengan massa otot berturut-turut (r = -0.03, p = 0.8; r = 0.01, p = 0.9; r = -0.06, p = 0.5; dan r = -0.02, p = 0.8).


The phenomenon of muscle mass deterioration appeared in the elderly called sarcopenia, one of the reasons was the inflammatory process. The ratio of omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids are known to influence the inflammatory process. However, the relationship of this ratio with muscle mass are still conflicting. This cross-sectional study aimed to explore the correlations of omega-3/omega-6 fatty acids intake ratio and omega-3 fatty acids erythrocyte membrane levels with muscle mass among the elderly in five registered nursing homes in South Tangerang City. This study involved 101 elderly from the proportional random sampling method. The ratio of omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids intake was assessed using 3-days food records and semi-quantitative food frequency questionnaire (SQ-FFQ). Moreover, omega-3 fatty acid erythrocyte membrane levels were measured using gas chromatography-mass spectrometry and muscle mass were examined using bioelectrical impedance analysis. We used Spearman analysis to investigate the correlation. The mean age of the participants was 75.5 ± 7.6 years and most of the participants were female (73.3%). Furthermore, the median value of omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acid intake ratio was 0.09 (0.05 – 0.22) using 3-days food records and 0.08 (0.05 – 0.23) using SQ-FFQ, the median value of omega-3 erythrocyte membrane levels for ALA = 10.06 (4.9-24.9) µg/mL, EPA = 14.6 (5.06 – 81.02) µg/mL, DHA = 115.5 (20.6 – 275.09) µg/mL, total omega-3 = 144.1 (89.3 – 332.1) µg/mL, and the median value of muscle mass were 35.5 (22.8 – 63.5) kg. We did not find strong correlation between omega-3/omega-6 fatty acids intake ratio and muscle mass using either 3-days food records (r = -0.2, p = 0.07), or SQ-FFQ (r = 0.01, p = 0.9), and no strong correlations found between ALA, EPA, DHA, total omega-3 fatty acids erythrocyte membrane levels and muscle mass (r = -0.03, p = 0.8; r = 0.01, p = 0.9; r = -0.06, p = 0.5; and r = -0.02, p = 0.8), respectively.

"Kadar TNF-α didapatkan jauh lebih tinggi pada penderita MDR-TB dibandingkan
dengan penderita TB sensitif obat, TNF-α dinyatakan sebagai salah satu sitokin
proinflamasi yang dapat menekan selera makan. Asam lemak omega-3 diketahui
memiliki efek antiinflamasi, namun efek terhadap selera makan masih
menunjukkan hasil beragam, penelitian mengenai asupan asam lemak omega-
3/omega-6 yang dapat mendukung selera makan pada penderita MDR-TB belum
pernah dilakukan. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara rasio
asupan asam lemak omega-3/omega-6 dengan selera makan yang dimediasi oleh
TNF-α pada pasien MDR-TB paru. Penelitian potong lintang ini dilakukan kepada
46 subyek laki-laki dan perempuan dewasa penderita MDR-TB yang sedang
menjalani terapi fase intensif. Data dikumpulkan melalui kuesioner, food recall
1x24 jam, pengukuran antropometri dan pengambilan darah vena. Analisis korelasi
menggunakan uji pearson dan spearman. Rasio asupan asam lemak omega-
3/omega-6 yang didapatkan adalah 0,11±0,05, nilai tengah TNF-α 7,49(1,66-
447,62) pg/ml dan rerata selera makan 58,72±26,7. Hasil penelitian ini
menunjukkan tidak terdapat hubungan antara rasio asupan asam lemak omega-
3/omega-6 dan TNF-α (r=0,16; p=0,91), terdapat hubungan positif antara TNF-α
dengan selera makan (r=0,31; p=0,04), serta tidak terdapat hubungan antara rasio
asupan asam lemak omega-3/omega-6 dengan selera makan (r=-0,1; p=0,54) pada
penderita MDR-TB paru.

TNF-α levels were found to be much higher in MDR-TB patients compared to drugsensitive
TB patients, TNF-α is stated as one of the pro-inflammatory cytokines that
can suppress appetite. Omega-3 fatty acid are known to have anti-inflammatory
effects, but the effects towards appetite are still conflicting, research on the intake
of omega-3 / omega-6 fatty acid which can support appetite in patients with MDRTB
has never been done. This study was conducted to determine the relationship
between ratio of omega-3 / omega-6 fatty acid intake and appetite mediated by
TNF-α in pulmonary MDR-TB. This cross-sectional study was conducted on 46
adult male and female subjects with MDR-TB who were undergoing intensive
phase therapy. Data were collected through questionnaires, 1x24 hours food recall,
anthropometric measurements and venous blood collection. Correlation analysis
used pearson and spearman test. The ratio of omega-3 / omega-6 fatty acid intake
is 0.11±0.05, median value of TNF-α 7.49(1.66-447.62) pg/ml and average of
appetite 58.72±26.7. In conclusion, there is no relationship between the ratio of
omega-3 / omega-6 fatty acid intake and TNF-α (r=0,16; p=0,91), there is
correlation between TNF-α and appetite (r=0.31; p=0.04), and there is no
relationship between the ratio of omega-3 / omega-6 fatty acid intake with appetite
(r=-0,1; p=0,54) in patients with pulmonary MDR-TB.

"Latar Belakang: Obesitas merupakan faktor risiko utama osteoartritis (OA). Penelitian terdahulu mendapatkan bahwa faktor mekanik saja tidak cukup untuk menjelaskan hubungan OA dengan obesitas. Saat ini faktor metabolik yang berkaitan dengan massa lemak tubuh dianggap memiliki peranan penting, tetapi lemak mana yang paling berperan masih kontroversial apakah lemak viseral atau lemak subkutan. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mendapatkan korelasi antara distribusi lemak tubuh dengan lebar celah sendi tibiofemoral medial.
Metode: Penelitian ini merupakan studi potong lintang pada penderita OA lutut dengan obesitas yang berobat di poliklinik Reumatologi, Geriatri dan Penyakit Dalam RSCM periode Januari-Maret 2016. Diagnosis OA lutut berdasarkan kriteria American College of Rheumatology (ACR) 1986. Pemeriksaan distribusi lemak tubuh menggunakan bioelectrical impedance analysis (BIA). Pemeriksaan radiologi lutut menggunakan radiologi konvensional (foto polos) untuk menilai lebar celah sendi tibiofemoral medial. Analisis statistik bivariat digunakan untuk mendapatkan korelasi antara distribusi lemak tubuh dengan lebar celah sendi tibiofemoral medial.
Hasil: Sebanyak 56 orang pasien yang memenuhi kriteria inklusi dan bersedia ikut dalam penelitian, mayoritas subjek berjenis kelamin perempuan (73,2%). Median kadar lemak viseral adalah 12% (7.5-16,5) median lemak subkutan adalah 30,2% (16,5-37,9) dan median rasio lemak viseral/subkutan adalah 0,40 (0,26-0,80). Rerata lebar celah sendi tibiofemoral medial adalah 2,34 mm (SB 0,78). Korelasi antara lemak viseral dengan lebar celah sendi tibiofemoral medial (r: -0,474 p: < 0,001). Tidak didapatkan korelasi antara lemak subkutan dengan lebar celah sendi tibiofemoral medial (r: -0,187 p: 0,169) serta tidak didapatkan korelasi antara rasio lemak viseral/subkutan dengan lebar celah sendi tibiofemoral medial (r: -0,225 p: 0,09).
Simpulan: Lemak viseral berkorelasi negatif sedang dengan lebar celah sendi tibiofemoral medial (r: -0,474 p: < 0,001). Tidak didapatkan korelasi antara lemak subkutan dan rasio lemak viseral/subkutan dengan lebar celah sendi tibiofemoral.

Background: Obesity is a major risk factor for knee osteoarthritis. The relationship between obesity and OA may not simply due to mechanical factor. Evidence suggests that metabolic factors related to body fat play important roles, but the specific type of fat that contributes to OA is unclear. The objective of this study was to examine the possible correlation between body fat distributions with knee OA.
Method: This study was a cross sectional study in OA patients with obesity visiting Rheumatology, Geriatric, Internal Medicine clinics in Cipto Mangunkusumo Hospital between January-March 2016. Samples were collected using consecutive sampling method. Knee OA was diagnosed from clinical and radiologic evaluation based on American College of Rheumatology 1986 criteria. Body fat distribution was measured by bioelectrical impedance analysis (BIA). Radiographs of the knee was measured by conventional radiography to evaluate joint space narrowing (JSN). The correlation between body fat distributions with joint space width was analyzed by bivariate analysis.
Result: A total of 56 subjects were recruited, with majority of subjects were women (73,2%). Median of visceral fat was 12% (7.5-16,5), median of subcutaneous fat was 30,2% (16,5-37,9) and median of visceral to subcutaneous fat ratio was 0,40 (0,26-0,80). Mean of medial tibiofemoral joint space width was 2,34 mm (SB 0,78). In bivariate analysis we found correlation between visceral fat and medial tibiofemoral joint space width (r: -0,474 p: < 0,001). There is no correlation between subcutaneous fat and medial tibiofemoral joint space width (r: -0,187 p: 0,169) and also visceral to subcutaneous fat ratio and medial tibiofemoral joint space width (r: -0,225 p: 0,09).
Conclusion: Visceral fat is correlated with medial tibiofemoral joint space width (r: -0,474 p: < 0,001). There is no correlation between neither subcutaneous fat nor visceral to subcutaneous fat ratio and medial tibiofemoral joint space width.

"ABSTRAK
Prevalensi obesitas di Indonesia makin meningkat . Obesitas yang terjadi akibat energi yang masuk lebih besar daripada yang dikeluarkan akan menyebabkan peningkatan massa lemak total tubuh, termasuk massa lemak viseral. Massa lemak dapat melatarbelakangi penyakit degeneratif. Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk mengetahui korelasi rasio asupan energi (AE) terhadap kebutuhan energi total (KET) individu dengan massa lemak viseral dan kadar HbA1c plasma pada subjek obesitas di Indonesia.
Penelitian ini merupakan studi potong lintang, yang dilakukan di kantor Balaikota DKI Jakarta pada bulan September sampai dengan Oktober 2014. Subjek penelitian didapatkan melalui Simple Random Sampling, sebanyak 52 orang yang sesuai kriteria penelitian ditetapkan sebagai subjek penelitian. Didapatkan hasil sebagian besar subjek termasuk usia 46–55 tahun (55,8%), sebagian besar subjek penelitian adalah perempuan (65,4%), dengan IMT sama besar antara obes 1 dan 2. Lebih dari separuh subjek penelitian mempunyai rasio AE terhadap KET yang kurang karena under report pada pelaporan asupan per hari. Hampir seluruh subjek laki-laki mempunyai massa lemak viseral berlebih (94,4%), sementara pada subjek perempuan sebagian besar mempunyai massa lemak viseral normal. Seluruh subjek mempunyai massa lemak total berlebih. Kadar HbA1c plasma pada 75% subjek termasuk kategori berisiko DM. Tidak terdapat korelasi yang bermakna antara rasio AE terhadap KET dengan massa lemak viseral (r = 0,1; p=0,7). Korelasi antara rasio AE terhadap KET dengan kadar HbA1c didapatkan hasil bermakna dengan kekuatan sedang untuk usia 46–55 tahun (r=0,42;p=0,02). Tidak terdapat korelasi yang bermakna antara massa lemak viseral dengan kadar HbA1c plasma.

ABSTRAK
The prevalence of obesity in Indonesia is increasing. Obesity, as the consequence of greater energy ingested than energy expended, cause an increase in total body fat mass including visceral fat mass that underlie degenerative diseases. The aim of this study was to find correlation between ratio of energy intake (EI) to individual total energy requirement (TER) with visceral fat mass and HbA1c levels in obese subject. The method used in this study was cross sectional, held in the institution of Balaikota DKI Jakarta during September to October 2014. The subject was obtained by simple random sampling and 52 subjects who meet study criteria were enrolled in this study. The results showed most of subjects age between 46–55 years (55,8%), majority of subjects were female (65,4%), with the same number of subjects categorized as obese 1 and obese 2. More than half of this subjects have ratio of EI to TER less than normal. Majority of the male subject have visceral fat mass greater than normal criteria (94,4%), while most of female subjects have normal criteria of visceral fat mass. All of the subjects have greater level of total body fat mass. Level of HbA1c in most of the subject are normal categories (75%). Ratio EI to TER did not correlate significantly with visceral fat mass (r=0,1; p=0,7). There were significant positive correlation between ratio EI to TER with HbA1c level in age of 46–55 year (r=0,42;p=0,02). Visceral fat mass did not correlate significantly with HbA1c plasma levels."

"Tujuan penelitian cross sectional ini adalah untuk mengetahui hubungan asupan asam lemak omega-3 dengan kadar hs-CRP pada pasien Psoriasis vulgaris. Penelitian dilakukan di Yayasan Peduli Psoriasis Indonesia, mulai November 2014 sampai April 2015. Sejumlah 52 pasien yang memenuhi kriteria penelitian dipilih menjadi subjek penelitian. Subjek diwawancara, menjalani pemeriksaan antropometri dan kadar hs-CRP. Data asupan asam lemak omega-3, EPA dan DHA diperoleh dengan metode food frequency questionnaire, dan food recall 3 x 24 jam.
Nilai rerata usia subjek adalah 41,9 ± 9,21 tahun. Jumlah subjek laki-laki 57,7% dan wanita, 42,3%. Sebanyak 38,5% subjek status gizinya normal dan 61,5% berat badan lebih. Asupan energi cukup terdapat pada 82,7% subjek, sedangkan 17,3% subjek asupan energinya kurang. Subjek dengan asupan asam lemak omega-3 cukup ada 65,4%, sedangkan 34,6% subjek asupannya kurang. Sebanyak 86,5% subjek asupan EPA dan DHAnya cukup dan 13,5% kurang.
Hasil kadar hs-CRP serum yaitu 9,6% subjek kadarnya >10 mg/L, 57,7% subjek kadarnya 1-10 mg/L dan 32,7% subjek kadarnya <1 mg/L. Hasil uji korelasi rank Spearman antara asupan asam lemak omega-3 dengan kadar hs-CRP memperlihatkan korelasi negatif lemah bermakna (r = - 0,394 dan p = 0,004). Korelasi asupan EPA dan DHA dengan kadar hs-CRP adalah negatif sedang bermakna (r = - 0,499 dan p = 0,000). Asupan asam lemak omega-3 terutama dalam bentuk EPA dan DHA dapat menurunkan kadar hs-CRP pada pasien Psoriasis.

The aim of this cross sectional study is to find out the relationship between dietary intake of omega-3 fatty acids and hs-CRP level in patient with Psoriasis vulgaris. This study was conducted from November 2014 to April 2015, at Yayasan Peduli Psoriasis Indonesia. As all the criterias were succeeded, 52 patients were recruited. Data were collected by interview, anthropometric's measurement, and laboratory examination. Dietary intake data of omega-3 fatty acids, EPA and DHA were determined by using food frequencies questionnaire, and food recall 3 x 24 hours method.
Mean value of subjects' age was 41.9 ± 9.21 years. The subjects consisted of 57.7% men and of 42.3% women. Nutritional status of 38.5% subjects was normal and of 61.5% was overweight. An adequate amount of energy intake was found in 82.7% subjects whereas 17.3% was inadequate. Dietary intake of omega- 3 fatty acids was adequate in 65.4% subjects whereas in 34.6% was inadequate. Dietary intake of EPA and DHA in 86.5% subjects was adequate, while in 13.5% subjects, inadequate.
The result of hs-CRP >10 mg/L was found in 9.6% subjects, 1-10 mg/L in 57.7% and <1 mg/L in 32.7% subjects. Rank Spearman correlation test of dietary intake of omega-3 fatty acids and hs-CRP level showed weak negative significant result (r = - 0.394 and p = 0.004). The result of EPA and DHA with hs-CRP level was fair negative significant (r = - 0.499 and p = 0.000). Thus, it can be concluded that dietary omega-3 fatty acids in the form of EPA and DHA might lessen hs-CRP level in Psoriasis patient.
