Praktik kerja profesi di Direktorat Jenderal Kefarmasian dan Alat Kesehatan Kementerian Kesehatan Republik Indonesia dilakukan selama empat minggu dengan tugas khusus yaitu Evaluasi Pelaksanaan Pengurusan Izin Edar Alat Kesehatan Diagnostik HIV Tahun 2015-2017. Tujuan dari tugas khusus ini untuk mengetahui permasalahan yang terjadi pada proses pendaftaran izin edar alat kesehatan diagnostik in vitro untuk HIV pada tahun 2015 hingga 2017

The Internship in the Directorate General of Pharmaceutical and Medical Devices of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Indonesia was conducted for two weeks with a special task Evaluation of the Registration Process of HIV Diagnostic Medical Devices 2015-2017. Internship at Directorate of Pharmaceutical Services aims to understand the duties and responsibilities of pharmacists in Directorate General of Pharmaceutical and Medical Devices in general, and Directorate of Pharmaceutical Services in particular; have knowledge of tasks and functions of government agencies in the pharmaceutical sector; have insight, knowledge, skills, and practical experience to do work in government; and have real life perspective on pharmaceutical practice issues in government. This internship was conducted for two weeks with special assignment ldquo;Review of Policies and Implementation of Rational Use of Medicine in Indonesia, Malaysia, and Singapore rdquo;. The objective of this special assignment is so that the prospective pharmacist is able to review policies and implementation of rational use of medicine in Indonesia, Malaysia, and Singapore."

Dalam menyelenggarakan urusan pemerintahan di bidang kesehatan, Direktorat Jenderal Kefarmasian dan Alat Kesehatan menyelenggarakan fungsi perumusan, penetapan, dan pelaksanaan kebijakan di bidang kesehatan terutama terkait kefarmasian. Apoteker memiliki peran penting dalam perumusan dan pelaksanaan kebijakan terkait kefarmasian di pemerintahan. Penyelenggaraan Praktik Kerja Profesi Apoteker PKPA merupakan salah satu upaya pembekalan ilmu untuk membantu calon apoteker memahami peran tersebut. Dalam praktik kerja ini juga dilaksanakan tugas khusus yaitu analisis kebijakan dan implementasi penggunaan obat rasional di negara Indonesia, Malaysia, dan Singapura agar menjadi pembanding bagi pemerintah indonesia untuk meningkatkan penggunaan obat rasional di Indonesia.
