"ABSTRAKNovel Laskar Pelangi karya Andrea Hirata adalah sedikit sekali novel yang mengisahkan tentang perjuangan di dunia pendidikan. Melalui penokohan yang dibangun oleh pengarang, perjuangan para tokoh dalam mengarungi hidup di dunia pendidikan terasa sangat mengharukan. Tidak ada kata putus asa apalagi menyesali hidup. Mereka tetap bersemangat dalam kesederhanaan dan keterbatasan untuk mencari ilmu pengetahuan. Pendekatan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah pendekatan pragmatik. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui perjuangan para tokoh dalam dunia pendidikan. Kajian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif dengan teknik kajian pustaka. Berdasarkan kajian dapat diketahui bahwa perjuangan para tokoh dalam dunia pendidikan telah menjadikan kehidupan mereka menjadi lebih baik di kemudian hari."

"ABSTRACTTujuan penelitian ini adalah mengetahui penyebab tokoh Hasan menjadi seorang ateis dan bagaimana proses perubahan spiritual Hasan dari seorang Islam yang taat menjadi seorang yang ateis serta bagaimana pemikiran Islam dalam menolak paham ateis. Masalah penelitian ini adalah 1) apa yang menjadi penyebab tokoh Hasan menjadi seorang ateis; 2) bagaimana proses perubahan spiritual Hasan dari seorang Islam yang taat menjadi seorang yang ateis; dan 3) bagaimana pemikiran Islam dalam menolak paham ateis. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode deskriptif kualitatif dengan teknik studi pustaka. Berdasarkan kajian dapat diketahui bahwa penyebab terjadinya transformasi spiritual pada tokoh Hasan dari seorang Islam taat menjadi seorang ateis adalah karena lemahnya tradisi berpikir Islam yang dimilikinya serta faktor percintaan yang mengesampingkan norma dan etika agama."

"The purpose of this study is to find out the forms of social criticism in the short stories of the Angin Besar Menggerus Ladang-ladang Kami by Hajriansyah and Hitam Putih Kotaku by Rismivana The problems in this study are how the form of social criticism in the short stories ofAnstin Besar Menggerus Ladang-ladang Kami by Hajriansyah and Hitam Putih Kotaku by Rismiyana. The methodology used m analyzing the short stories is descriptive qualitative by using sociology of literature as the approach of this research. Based on the results of the analysis, it can be seen that there are many social criticism in both short stories as the object of study. Social critics include-criticism of the destruction of nature, criticism of the attitude of art, and criticism of promiscuity."

"Skripsi ini membahas tentang tema dan amanat dalam novel Mendhung karya Yes Ismie Suryaatmadja. Untuk mengungkap tema dan amanat, terlebih dulu dilakukan analisis struktur dalam novel, yaitu alur; tokoh; dan latar, berdasarkan buku Memahami Cerita Rekaan oleh Panuti Sudjiman. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah terdapat satu tema utama dalam novel Mendhung yaitu perselingkuhan, serta dua tema sampingan yaitu kesenjangan sosial dan ketidakadilan jender. Amanat yang terdapat dalam novel Mendhung adalah ketidaksetiaan dapat membuat seseorang kehilangan segala yang dimilikinya, serta seorang laki-laki harus bersikap tegas.

This paper discusses about theme and mandate in novel Mendhung, Yes Ismie Suryaatmadja work. To reveal the theme and mandate, first do structure analysis of the novel, namely groove; character; and background, based on the book Memahami Cerita Rekaan by Panuti Sudjiman. Results from this research, there is a main theme in the novel Mendhung, that is affair, as well as two side themes, namely social inequalities and gender inequities. The mandate in novel Mendhung is infidelity can make someone lose everything, and a man had to be firm."

"Penelitian ini membahas tentang konflik batin tokoh Dubrovsky dalam novel Dubrovsky dalam Novel Дубровский/Dubrovsky karya Alexander Sergeyevich Pushkin melalui pendekatan Psikologi. Pendekatan ini mengkaji tentang kejiwaan tokoh. Analisis terhadap novel Дубровский/Dubrovsky menggunakan teori Sigmund Freud mengenai Id, Ego, Superego. Melalui pendekatan ini dapat dilihat bahwa tokoh Dubrovsky mengalami konflik batin ketika ia ingin melakukan balas dendam namun ia jatuh cinta terhadap Maria Kirillovna. Berbagai permasalahan muncul dan Dubrovsky memilih untuk mengatasinya dengan melarikan diri.

This study analyses the inner conflict of character in the novel Dubrovsky by Alexander Sergeyevich Pushkin with Psychology approach. This approach’s to study the psychological character. Analysis of the novel Dubrovsky is using Sigmund Freud's theories about the Id, Ego, Superego. "ABSTRACTTesis ini membahas novel Fight Club dalam konteks politik kelas pada masa kapitalisme lanjut. Fokus dari penelitian adalah melihat bagaimana novel transgresif tersebut berfungsi sebagai alat ideologis sistem kapitalisme dan sekaligus sebagai kritik implisit terhadap sistem tersebut. Novel dianalisis melalui perspektif Marxis menggunakan teori pembacaan political unconscious oleh Fredric Jameson. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa Fight Club mengandung impulsimpuls utopia dengan mengkritik kontradiksi-kontradiksi kapitalisme lanjut seperti alienasi, reifikasi komoditas, dan konsumerisme. Namun, pada saat yang sama novel tersebut dipengaruhi oleh ideologi kapitalis yang membuat kritik novel terhadap kapitalisme menjadi problematis.

ABSTRACT

This thesis discusses Fight Club in the context of class politics of late capitalism. It explores how the transgressive novel can be interpreted as an ideological tool of capitalism as well as an implicit critique of the economic system. The novel is analyzed through Marxist perspective using Fredric Jameson?s theory of the political unconscious. It is concluded that Fight Club contains utopian impulses that criticize the contradictions of late capitalism such as alienation, reification, and consumerism, while at the same time contains the ideology of capitalism that makes the critique problematic."

"ABSTRAKNovel Song of Solomon karya Toni Morrison dan novel Mama Day karya Gloria Naylor merupakan dua karya besar penulis wanita kulit hitam. Dengan menggunakan unsur mitos dan aspek supranatural dalam menggerakkan alur cerita, Morrison dan Naylor mengangkat satu tema pencarian "dunia baru" melalui masing-masing tokoh utamanya. "Duna baru" yang merupakan sebuah idealisme dan obsesi orang kulit hitam untuk menemukan identitas rasnya disampaikan dengan sangat rill oleh Morrison dan Naylor. "Dunia baru" tersebut dikonstruksikan sebagai sebuah kota Shalimar dan pulau Willow Springs dengan ciri-ciri budaya lama orang kulit hitam sebagai pembentuknya.Persoalan pencarian "dunia baru" yang berkaitan erat dengan konstruksi ras ditelaah dengan menggunakan satu pendekatan sosio-historis yang akan memaparkan persoalan dibalik pencarian "dunia baru". Song of Solomon dan Mama Day mengungkapkan bahwa permasalahan orang kulit hitam muncul tidak hanya ketika mereka berinteraksi dengan orang kulit putih sebagai pembeda, namun permasalah rumit yang muncul kemudian adalah ketika orang kulit hitam berinteraksi dengan sesama orang kulit hitam sendiri. Pada saat yang sama, Song of Solomon dan Mama Day mengungkap konflik internal ras kulit hitam sebagai manifestasi dari kaburnya identitas ras kulit hitam."Dunia baru" yang diposisikan di Selatan tersebut memapahkan konsep Utara yang selama ini disebut sebagai Promised Land. Idealisme ini akhirnya menyodorkan sebuah konstruksi sejarah baru orang kulit hitam, yang mengungkapkan kemampuan orang kulit hitam untuk bebas dari perbudakan. Konstruksi sejarah baru ini sebagai satu usaha untuk menepis sejarah orang kulit hitam yang selama ini dibentuk melalui kacamata orang kulit hitam yang selalu dihubungkan dengan perbudakan dan ketidakberdayaan orang kulit hitam."Duna baru" hanya merupakan sebuah alat untuk sementara lari dari konflik dilematis orang kulit hitam. Pencarian "dunia baru" tidak menjawab permasalahan orang kulit hitam untuk menemukan identitas rasnya. Morrison dan Naylor memaparkan posisi orang kulit hitam yang masih tetap tinggal dalam konflik dilematis yang sangat kuat dengan menunjukkan kegagalan kedua tokoh bertahan di "dunia baru" yang mereka cari.

ABSTRACTBoth Song of Solomon and Mama Day are masterpieces written by two black women writers, Toni Morrison and Gloria Naylor. They use mythical and supernatural aspects to develop the plot and present an issue of quest for a "new world" through respective character. "New world" as the Blacks' idealism and obsession is presented as a real fact. The "new world" is constructed as Shalimar town and Willow Springs Island. Both are characterized by the old culture of the Blacks.The quest for the "new world" relating to the race categorization is analyzed by using the social-historical approach. The approach is employed to find out the problems behind the quest. Morrison and Naylor express that the Blacks' problems arise not only because of the interaction between the Whites, but also because of the interaction among the Blacks themselves which brings about more complicated problems. At the same time Song of Solomon and Mama Day present internal conflicts of the Blacks as the manifestation of their unclear identity."New world" positioned in South of America and rejects the existing concept of the North as the Promised Land. The idealism depicts a new history of the Black. It shows the ability of the Blacks to get freed from slavery. The construction functions as an effort to repute the Blacks' history which has been formed through the Whites' perspective before. It always relates to the Blacks' disability and slavery.The "new world" is one of the means through which the Blacks can escape from their dilemmatic problem. The quest for "new world" can't answer the question of authentic identity. This thesis also concludes the writer's tone, which expresses dilemmatic conflicts of Blacks through the failure of the main character, to survive the "new world"."

"ABSTRAKTulisan ini bertujuan mengungkapkan perubahan kepribadian tokoh Nayla dalam novel Nayla. Sumber data penelitian ini adalah novel Nayla karya Djenar Maesa Ayu yang diterbitkan Gramedia Pustaka Utama tahun 2012. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan teknik kepustakaan. Penelitian ini menggunakan teori psikoanalisis Karen Horney. Metode yang digunakan dalam tulisan ini adalah metode deskriptif analisis dengan pendekatan psikoanalisis. Pembahasan ini menghasilkan hal-hal berikut. Pertama, hubungan orang tua-anak yang buruk menciptakan berbagai peristiwa yang mendorong munculnya konflik batin tokoh Nayla. Kedua, konflik batin yang berupa kecemasan-kecemasan memicu timbulnya tingkah laku neoritis berupa tindakan-tindakan menyimpang tokoh Nayla untuk meraih kebermaknaan hidup.Kata kunci."
