"Many studies of the history of South East Asian countries
(particularly indonesia) never or just pay a seam attention an the writing of
the history (historiography) fries to raise the demographic issues. If is then
comprehensible that inadequate understanding of the issues does nat bring
about a significant change in the course of the historiographic processes in
South East Asian. The demographic issues may be not given or a new for
social .sciences such as anthropology, sociology, and geography.
Conversely, demography becomes increasingly special when the history
uses it to reconstruct the past events. The existing experiences pieced mare
emphasis an the demographic issues as set of figures from time to time
having no significant roles in disclosing the historical events, The
demographic issues generally represent smallest effects compared with
other political issues, war, ethical conflict, and the major issues having
substantive effects. The understanding and reconstruction of the history as
the past events are more often interpreted as dialogical process between the
state and power. The history of identification with social reality of
demography is only accommodated a small pattern of various histories
issues which in general is strictly confined to romanticism of the nation
people without demographic sense, This might he the Case since the data
indicate the high population growth, high birth, and high immortality in the
past. In general, women and children living in several residencies such as
Kedu, Surakarta, and Surabaya have lower survival rate in the course of
the second half of the nineteenth century throughout twentieth century as
reflected in mortality rate experienced by two groups (women and Children)
in several different places Such as in Kedu, Surakarta, and Surabaya in
1916-1921. However, there is a serious problem in the source validity related to quantitive where some historians are still doubt about
their consistencies. Therefore, to overcome vacancy in the sources of data
in several periods, some historians use the oral sources through interview as
they do in revealing some problems in Surabaya. This method is

"Manunggaling kawula Gusti adalah sebuah konsep di masyarakat Jawa yang seringkali dikaitkan dengan Syekh Siti Jenar, bahwa sejatinya manusia adalah jelmaan dari zat Tuhan (Derani, 2014: 5). Hal ini digambarkan melalui ungkapan menyatunya kawula (manusia) dengan Gusti (Tuhan). Sugih Tanpa bandha adalah pemikiran dari Raden Mas Panji Sosrokartono, yang kemudian dipopulerkan dan dilagukan oleh Sudjiwo Tejo. Penulisan ini akan terfokus pada penjelasan konsep manunggaling kawula Gusti yang terdapat dalam lirik lagu tersebut. Sehubungan dengan itu, permasalahan yang dapat dirumuskan adalah bagaimana manunggaling kawula Gusti digambarkan dalam lirik lagu Sugih Tanpa Bandha yang dipopulerkan oleh Sudjiwo Tejo. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif, dengan mendeskripsikan makna setiap unsur dalam lirik lagu dan menyajikan data apa adanya. Adapun kerangka teoritis yang dipergunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu filsafat moral (etika) Jawa dari Franz Magnis Suseno. Berdasarkan pembahasan penelitian ini, ditemukan bahwa syair lagu Sugih Tanpa Bandha memiliki keterkaitan dengan tahapan-tahapan untuk mencapai keadaan manunggaling kawula Gusti. Temuan yang dihasilkan penelitian ini setiap bait berkaitan dengan tahapan-tahapan mistik Jawa, yaitu sembah raga, sembah kalbu, sembah jiwa, sembah rasa yang pada hakikatnya menuju pada manunggaling kawula Gusti.

Manunggaling kawula Gusti is a concept of Javanese society commonly associated with Syekh Siti Jenar, which explains that human is actually a manifestation of God’s essence (Derani, 2014: 5). This is being metaphored as a unification of kawula (human) and Gusti (God). Sugih Tanpa Bandha was an idea formulated by Raden Mas Panji Sosrokartono, which then popularized and musicalized by Sudjiwo Tejo. This research will explain the concept of manunggaling kawula Gusti which reflected through the lyrics of Sugih Tanpa Bandha. With this in mind, the question that can be formulated is how manunggaling kawula Gusti is being represented in the lyrics of Sugih Tanpa Bandha? This research uses the method of qualitative description, by describing the meaning of Sugih Tanpa Bandha’s lyrics and presents the data as it is. The theoretical frameworks used in this research is moral philosophy; Javanese ethics by Franz Magnis Suseno. Based on the discussion from this research, it’s concluded that the lyrics of Sugih Tanpa Bandha is related to the steps required to achieve the state of manunggaling kawula Gusti. Each stanzas represent the steps that exist in Javanese mysticism, which includes sembah raga, sembah kalbu, sembah jiwa, sembah rasa. All of which will direct ourselves to the state of manunggaling kawula Gusti."

"Skripsi ini membahas tentang satuan lingual -ing dalam Bahasa Jawa Laras Pedalangan Gaya Surakarta. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengidentifikasi fungsi satuan lingual -ing dalam Bahasa Jawa Laras Pedalangan Gaya Surakarta. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah deskriptif analisis. Data dalam penelitian ini berupa kalimat yang mengandung satuan lingual -ing yang terdapat dalam buku pakem pedalangan gaya Surakarta. Teori penelitian ini mengacu pada Sudaryanto (1978), A. Chaedar (1990), J.W.M. Verhaar (1999), Sudaryanto (1991), Harimurti (2002), dan Wedhawati (2006). Hasil penelitian ini memperlihatkan bahwa terdapat fungsi-fungsi satuan lingual -ing dalam Bahasa Jawa Laras Pedalangan Gaya Surakarta.

This thesis discusses about lingual unit of -ing in Javanese Surakarta's Style Wayang Language. This research aims to identifies function of lingual unit -ing in Javanese Surakarta's style Wayang Language. The research method that used in this research is descriptive method of analysis. The data research is a sentences that contain a lingual unit of -ing in Surakarta's style puppetry grip. This research theory referenced to Sudaryanto (1978), A. Chaedar (1990), J.W.M. Verhaar (1999), Sudaryanto (1991), Harimurti (2002) and Wedhawati (2006). The research show that there are several function of lingual unit -ing in Javanese as Surakarta's Style Wayang Language.

"Wujud ekspresi bahasa pada masyarakat di masa kini, hadir dalam berbagai bentuk, tidak hanya dalam bentuk ungkapan kata, namun dapat pula hadir dalam bentuk visual (gambar). Keduanya itu memberikan gambaran keadaan sehari-hari pada masyarakat. Wujud ekspresi bahasa melalui serangkaian kata-kata dan gambar tersebut direpresentasikan dalam meme. Meme merupakan salah satu bentuk kreativitas dalam menyampaikan kritik sosial dalam masyarakat. Peneliti akan menganalisis makna meme berbahasa Jawa yang banyak diunggah dan dipublikasikan pertama kali melalui jejaring media sosial instagram pada tahun 2019. Data yang digunakan adalah 9 meme berbahasa Jawa yang digambarkan sebagai bentuk percakapan yang disampaikan tokoh pertama pada tokoh kedua, yakni tokoh pertama yang melakukan konsep sindiran yang diikuti dengan tindakan menampar pada tokoh kedua disertai ucapan kata tuman ‘kebiasaan’. Penelitian meme tuman ini dianalisis dengan teori metafora Lakoff dan Johnson (1980) mengungkapkan adanya makna metaforis dan teori fungsi metafora dalam Leech (1977) untuk melihat fungsi dalam meme tersebut. Permasalahan pada penelitian ini yakni bagaimana makna metaforis pada ujaran implisit yang terkandung pada meme tuman dan apa fungsi dari meme tersebut. Tujuan penelitian adalah menjelaskan makna metaforis dan fungsi yang ada pada ujaran meme. Hasil dari analisis penelitian ini yakni menunjukan bahwa makna meme tuman merupakan makna tersirat (implisit) yang disampaikan secara tidak langsung dan secara umum memiliki fungsi ekspresif. Makna pada meme tuman disampaikan secara implisit karena meme tuman berbahasa Jawa yang diunggah dan dipublikasikan di media sosial memiliki peranan penting sebagai sarana komunikasi tidak langsung yang mewakili isi pikiran dan perasaan penutur yang ingin di sampaikan kepada lawan tutur.

A meme is a phenomenon concept of ideas, behaviours, or lifestyles that spread from one person to another in a form of funny pictures along with wordings that have an implicit meaning. This supports the meme’s meaning in KBBI (2016) which defines memes as visual works that contain images and words. Moreover, a meme is known as a media for peoples to express and represents their feelings, or thoughts in social media (Listyorini, 2017:64). One of well acknowledged memes in Indonesia is tuman meme that occurred for the first time through social media in 2019. Tuman meme in this research focuses on an image of a bald man slapped another bald man then followed by a word tuman. Tuman is a word in Javanese that entails to someone who has particular habits that usually negative and does it repeatedly. As in any other memes, the image in a tuman meme also shows wordings in a form of a proposition that gives a metaphorical meaning. Therefore, this leads to problem of what the metaphors meaning in Javanese tuman memes is. The aims of this research is describing the metaphors meaning in tuman memes. Data of this research is 10 tuman memes that were taken from social media (Instagram) by using hashtag #memetuman. This research used qualitative methods and the metaphorical theory by Lakoff and Johnson (1980) also the theory of metaphorical functions by Leech (1977) in order to find out the metaphorical meanings and their functions The result of this research shows that the tuman meme has an implicit meaning with an indirectly message to the readers and used as a form of human’s expresiveness in general. At present, tuman meme is comprehended by the Javanese community as a mimicked theme (image) that included a catchy proposition that made it instantly memorable as an indirectly communication tools that represented peoples thoughts and feelings."
