"Of the many Sufi orders that have operated in South Asia, the Chishti order is the oldest and the most popular. This book examines the traditions, rituals, experiences, and legacy of the Sabri branch of the Chishtī order. Challenging the notion of Sufism as an ossified relic of the past, it presents evidence of growing interaction, accommodation, and intermingling within Sufi orders. It also highlights the active involvement of the Chishti-Sabris in the much discussed reformist upsurge in north India and explains how they addressed questions posed by colonial rule while still adhering to their mystical heritage. The role of networks that connected Sufi scholars in small towns (qasbahs) with those of Delhi is also examined. These connections, it is argued, moulded the religious ethos of such towns and made them incubators of Sufi reform. By locating Sufi traditions and institutions within the discourse of Islamic scholars (ulama), the book contends that the boundaries often drawn between Sufi and scholarly Islam were in reality far more blurred and porous than is admitted in the literature on modern reformist movements."

semenjak tahun 2004. SAFTA berasal dari South Asian Association for Regional

ABSTRACT
This thesis explores the economic motives of India in SAFTA. SAFTA is
economic cooperation between South Asia countries. SAFTA comes from South
Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) which established on 8
December 1985 in Dhaka, Bangladesh by seven countries. They are India,
Pakistan, Bhutan Maldives, Sri Lanka, and Nepal. This thesis uses FTA motives
theory by Mireya Solis and Saori N. Katada in order to analyze India?s economic
motives in SAFTA. Based on Mireya Solis and Saori N. Katada, state?s economic
motives to implement FTA are making larger access for new market by trade and
investment liberalization in order to maximize the trade and investment volume.
The result of this research consists of India successfully expand its market in
South Asia. Data shows that India is the largest importir and exportir in South
Asia. Besides that, the trade volume of South Asia is increasing in 2004-2012.
Even though, the trade volume of South Asia is increasing, the volume of
investment in South Asia can be ignored because it is too low;"

"ABSTRACT

ABSTRACT
Human trafficking is a cross border crime considered as a transnational organized crime. The majority victims of human trafficking are women and underaged children for sexual exploitation. In this case, South Asia has the second highest rate practice of women and children trafficking. The increasing number of women and children trafficking cases through years in India subsequently raises the awareness of the South Assian Association of Regional Cooperation SAARC to resolve the case by establishing the Convention of Preventing and Combatting Women and Children for Prostitution established in 2002. The number of women and children trafficking cases decreased for 9 since the establishment. This research aims to analyse SAARC rsquo s advocacy towards the Government of India to formulate the clause and the policy of Convention on Preventing and Combatting Trafficking in Children for Prostitution in India using the Policy Cycle Theory in viewing of policy making, and the concept of Transnational Advocacy Network in viewing strategic plans by SAARC in advocating the Government of India. In order to do the purpose, SAARC undertakes four forms of advocacy strategy that are information politics, symbolic politics, leverage politics, and accountability politics. "
