"ABSTRAKArtikel ini membahas mengenai homoseksualitas yang ditampilkan dalam film J rsquo;ai r v sous l rsquo;eau. Artikel ini mengangkat mengenai permasalahan orientasi seksual yang terjadi pada tokoh Antonin. Faktor dari dalam dirinya merupakan pemicu utama terjadinya perubahan orientasi seksualnya, yaitu kesedihan karena ditinggal seseorang yang dicintainya, Alex. Hasil dari penelitian ini memperlihatkan bahwa perubahan identitas seksual yang digambarkan melalui film J rsquo;ai r v sous l rsquo;eau disebabkan dari faktor internal yaitu perasaan sedih yang dirasakan karena kehilangan seseorang yang dicintainya. Selain itu, faktor lain yang juga sangat mempengarhi perubahan orientasi seksual Antonin adalah hadirnya sosok Juliette dan Baptiste yang memberikan perhatian, kasih sayang serta kedekatan secara intim yang menyebabkan adanya perubahan-perubahan identitas seksual pada Antonin. Film J rsquo;ai r v sous l rsquo;eau diteliti dan dianalisis berdasarkan unsur alur, tokoh, dan setting.

ABSTRACT<>br>This article discusses homosexuality featured in the film J 39 ai r v sous l 39 eau. This article raises the issue of sexual orientation that occurred on the character Antonin. Factor from within himself is the main trigger of the change of his sexual orientation due to the sadness of losing someone he loves, Alex. The results of this study show that the change in sexual identity in the film J 39 ai r v sous l 39 eau is caused by internal factors, such as the feeling of losing and the sadness due to the death of someone he loves. In addition, the other factor that affects the change of Antonin 39 s sexual orientation is the presences of Juliette and Baptiste who give attention, affection and intimate closeness that cause the changes of sexual identity to Antonin. The film J 39 ai r v sous l 39 eau is studied and analyzed through its aspects plot, character, and setting."

Metode penelitian kualitatif digunakan untuk menganalisis data yang diperoleh dari korpus berbentuk film. Hasil analisis melalui aspek naratif dan sinematografis menunjukkan perkembangan identitas seksual pada tokoh utama yang disebabkan oleh dorongan sosial di sekitarnya. Penelitian ini menunjukkan bagaimana setiap tokoh dalam kehidupan seseorang dapat berpengaruh dalam perkembangan dan pergeseran identitas seksualnya.

ABSTRACTThe research discusses the inner conflict of the main character caused by the construction of her sexual identity in the drama film Une Nouvelle Amie. The qualitative research method is used to analyze data obtained from the corpus. The results of the analysis through the narrative and cinematographic aspects show the development of sexual identity in the main character caused by the surrounding social impulse. This research shows how each character in a person 39 s life can have an effect on the development and shiftment of his her sexual identity."

Ketertarikan terhadap laki-laki menjadi hasil dari peran pengalaman traumatis Juno d alam mengonst ruksi id ent it as gend ernya, sed angkan peran sosial menghasilkan konstruksi identitas gender Juno yang mengarah pada adanya sifat-sifat feminin di dalam tubuh Juno yang secara alami maskulin. Dilihat dari posisi film, identitas gender Juno adalah non-biner yang perlu dihargai dan boleh hadir di tengah-tengah masyarakat. Terdapat adanya kritik film terhadap kepura-puraan masyarakat identitas non-biner yang menjalani kehidupan sesuai norma heteroseksualitas.

Men and women are binary systems on normative gender that are present in society. However, other variations of gender identity are also present in society, including transgender, agender, genderqueer, androgynous, or a combination of those identities. There are also variations of sexual identity, such as heterosexual, homosexual, and asexual. Variations in gender identity and sexual identity can be influenced by social roles and traumatic experiences of the individual which depicted in the Indonesian film Kucumbu Tubuh Indahku (2018). The research focuses on the construction of the main character's gender identity. The film is analyzed using Boggs and Petrie’s film theory to dissect the narrative and cinematographic aspects of the film, Judith Butler’s gender studies, and queer studies from Brett Beemyn and Eliason to dissect the ideology of the text. The attraction to men is the result of Juno's traumatic experience in constructing his gender identity, while social roles result in Juno's gender identity construction which leads to the presence of feminine traits in Juno's naturally masculine body. Judging from the film's position, Juno's gender identity is placed as a non-binary that needs to be respected and allowed to be present in society. There is also film criticism against the pretense of society with its non-binary identity who lives a life according to the norms of heterosexuality."

"Artikel ini bertujuan untuk mengungkap bagaimana banlieue sebagai lingkungan tempat tinggal dapat mempengaruhi kontruksi identitas dan menjadi penyebab terkonstrukisnya identitas Dounia sebagai tokoh utama dalam Film Divines (2016) karya Houda Benyamina. Film ini menceritakan kehidupan remaja perempuan keturunan Afrika sebagai imigran di Prancis yang bertempat tinggal di sebuah banlieue. Dounia yang merupakan seorang remaja perempuan keturunan imgiran memiliki ambisi untuk meninggalkan banlieue dan memiliki kehidupan di luar banlieue yang ia impikan. Banlieue yang menjadi latar tempat di film Divines ini memperlihatkan penggambaran sebuah tempat tinggal yang jauh dari pusat kota dengan kondisi kehidupan yang kurang memadai. Banlieue adalah salah satu bentuk segregrasi sosial yang diciptakan oleh pemerintah Prancis yang menyimpan berbagai permasalahan sosial di dalamnya bagi masyarakat yang menetap. Metodologi yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah penelitian kualitatif. Untuk meneliti aspek naratif dan sinematografis dalam film digunakan teori kajian film dari Boggs & Petrie. Kemudian, digunakan konsep tentang identitas oleh Stuart Hall dalam tulisan ini untuk mengungkap permasalahan identitas tokoh. Hasil analisis memperlihatkan terkonstruksinya identitas Dounia dengan perubahan-perubahan antara lain, tidak mengikuti sistem pendidikan, meninggalkan nilai-nilai budaya dan ketuhanan yang melekat pada dirinya, serta melakukan tindakan kriminal. Adapun penyebab dari terkonstruksinya identitas Dounia adalah disebabkan oleh berbagai faktor seperti kemiskinan, ketidakadilan, dan banyaknya tindakan kriminal yang terjadi di banlieue. Banlieue dalam film ini hadir sebagai tempat yang sulit untuk dihuni sehingga menjadi penyebab tokoh utama berkeinginan untuk melarikan diri dan terjadinya konstruksi identitas. Dounia berfantasi akan kebebasan dan kemewahan yang dapat ia temukan di luar banlieue. Identitas Dounia terkonstruksikan dari upayanya untuk mewujudkan impian utamanya yaitu untuk memulai kehidupan baru di luar banlieue.

This article is intended to reveal how living quarters can influence identity construction and become the identity of Dounia as the main character in Film Divines (2016) by Houda Benyamina. The film tells the life of teenage girls of African descent as immigrants in France who live in banlieue. Dounia who represents teenage girls has the right to get banlieue andhave a life outside the banlieue she dreamed of. The Banlieue which is the setting for the Divines movie returns the depiction of a residence far from the city center with inadequate life situations. Banlieue is one of the forms of social segregation created by the French government that stores various kinds of social services that are available to sedentary communities. The methodology used in this research is qualitative research. To study the narrative and cinematographic aspects of the film, film scoring theory is used from Boggs & Petrie. Then, the concept of identity was used by Stuart Hall in this paper to uncover the question of character identity. The results of the analysis choose the construction of a Dounia identity with changes, among others, not following the education system, taking inherent cultural and divine values to oneself, and committing criminal acts. As a cause of the construction of world identity caused by various factors such as poverty, injustice, and many crimes that occurred in banlieue. But in this film it is present as a difficult place to inhabit so that the main character wishes to break away and change identity construction. Dounia fantasizes about freedom and luxury that can be found outside the banlieue. Dounias identity is constructed from her efforts to realize dreams that are intended to start a new life outside of the banlieue."

"Penelitian ini membahas tentang negosiasi identitas tokoh utama dalam film Valentino (2013). Penelitian ini memakai teori film David Bordwell dan Kristin Thompson yang dilihat dari aspek sinematografis. Pendekatan negosiasi menjadi pendukung untuk menganalisis korpus. Hasil penelitian ini memperlihatkan negosiasi dan penolakan identitas yang dipilih tokoh utama untuk menyelesaikan konflik identitasnya. Adanya stereotip orang Belanda terhadap imigran Maroko menjadi penyebab konflik identitas yang dialami tokoh utama. Pada akhirnya tokoh utama memilih untuk tetap mempertahankan identitas Marokonya.

This research discusses the negotiation identity of the main character in the film Valentino (2013). This research uses the theory of the film David Bordwell and Kristin Thompson as seen from cinematographic aspects. The negotiation approach becomes a supporter for analyzing the corpus. The results of this research show that negotiation and rejection of the identity chosen by the main character to resolve their identity conflict. "Adaptasi novel menjadi sebuah film semakin banyak dilakukan dalam industri perfilman, termasuk industri perfilman Hollywood. Film The Reader karya sutradara Stephen Daldry merupakan adaptasi dari novel Jerman Der Vorleser karya Bernhard Schlink. Penelitian ini membahas mengenai representasi dari karakter dan strategi yang dilakukan oleh tokoh utama perempuan, Hanna Schmitz, dalam menutupi identitas buta hurufnya. Penelitian ini juga membahas konstruksi naratif yang membangun identitas tersebut. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa karakter yang dimiliki oleh tokoh dapat menunjukkan kebutahurufan yang dimilikinya. Selain itu, strategi yang ia lakukan untuk menutupi identitasnya tersebut memiliki maksud dan tujuan tertentu. Unsur naratif seperti tokoh dan penokohan, latar ruang dan waktu serta plot berperan penting dalam mendukung penggambaran identitas dari tokoh utama. Sehingga film ini merupakan suatu hiburan massa yang berskala internasional.

Adaptation of novels into films is increasingly being carried out in the film industry, including in Hollywood. The Reader is a film directed by Stephen Daldry based on an adaptation of the German novel Der Vorleser by Bernhard Schlink. This study discusses the representation of character and strategies undertaken by the female lead character, Hanna Schmitz, in hiding her own identity. This study also discusses the narrative construction that builds that identity. The results showed that the characters possessed by the main characters can show her illiteracy. Also besides, the strategies used to determine her identity have certain goals and objectives. Narrative elements such as characters and characterizations, place and time settings and plots are important aspects in supporting the portrayal of the identity of the main character. Therefore all of those aspects are making this film a mass collection on an international scale.

"ABSTRAKSkripsi ini menganalisis perubahan karakter tokoh utama anak yaitu Theeb Al-Howeitat dalam film Theeb. Tujuannya adalah untuk memaparkan dan menjelaskan berbagai perubahan karakter Theeb beserta penyebabnya. Metodologi yang digunakan pada penelitian ini berupa metodologi kepustakaan, metode strukturalis digunakan untuk menganalisis unsur intrinsik, metode deskriptif analitis digunakan untuk menganalisis perubahan karakter tokoh Theeb. Dari hasil penelitian ini dapat disimpulkan tokoh Theeb mengalami perubahan karena mengalami perasaan dukacita yang mendalam, kemudian ia pun berubah menjadi karakter yang lain demi mendapatkan kebahagiaan.

"Konflik identitas menjadi isu yang masih kerap dijumpai di negara-negara barat yang memiliki masyarakat multikultural di masa modern. Salah satunya kehidupan kaum Yahudi Ortodoks yang hidup dengan aturan ketat dalam menjalankan tradisi agama dan budaya. Hal tersebut seringkali menimbulkan benturan dengan kehidupan kontemporer bagi generasi mudanya. Dalam film yang berjudul The Awakening of Motti Wolkenbruch, tokoh utamanya harus bergulat dengan tradisi agama dan budaya untuk menyeimbangkan kehidupannya dengan kehidupan modern. Peristiwa dalam film juga menggambarkan hubungan kaum Yahudi Ortodoks dan non-Yahudi yang menjadi awal mula pergolakan batin Motti pada tradisi budaya dan agama Yahudi. Maka dari itu, penulis ingin mengetahui lebih dalam bagaimana konflik identitas direpresentasikan oleh Tokoh Motti dalam film tersebut menggunakan metode penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan semiotika dari Christian Metz. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa terjadi konflik identitas melalui upaya Motti agar dapat mengekspresikan diri dan cintanya kepada seorang shiksa yang dilarang dalam tradisi Yahudi Ortodoks di masa kontemporer. Selain itu penulis juga menemukan keterkaitan film dengan peristiwa Exodus, momen yang dinilai sakral bagi komunitas Yahudi untuk menyatukan warisan dari generasi ke generasi hingga perjalanan seorang anak muda Yahudi Ortodoks untuk menyeimbangkan antara kehidupan masa lalu dengan kehidupan masa kini dari pengalaman individu.

One such example is the life of Orthodox Jews who adhere to strict religious and cultural traditions. This often leads to clashes with contemporary life for the younger generations. In the film The Awakening of Motti Wolkenbruch, the protagonist grapples with viii religious and cultural traditions to balance his life with modernity. The film's events also depict the relationship between Orthodox and non-Orthodox Jews, which becomes the catalyst for Motti's internal struggle with Jewish cultural and religious traditions. Therefore, this study aims to delve into the representation of identity conflict through the character of Motti in the film using a qualitative research method with a semiotic approach based on Christian Metz's theory. The findings reveal the presence of identity conflict manifested in Motti's attempts to express himself and his love for a shiksa, a non-Jewish woman, which is forbidden in contemporary Orthodox Jewish tradition. Additionally, the study identifies the film's connection to the Exodus story, a sacred event for the Jewish community that serves to unite the legacy across generations, and the journey of an Orthodox Jewish youth to balance past And present life from an individual experience."

Gisaeng is a professional female entertainer in Korea, equals to Geisha of Japan and Chi-nu of China. This culture is believed to be existed since Goryeo Era (9 M). However, during Japan Colonial Period (1910-1945), Gisaeng identity started to deteriorate as the popular music came in and flourished among Koreans. This research uses qualitative descriptive method and aims to expose the impact of popular music to the identity of Gisaeng. This research found that the level of public interest in popular music resulted in Gisaeng leaving their identity to pursue career in popular music business."
