Meskipun serial televisi ini berfokus pada misteri dan drama, serial televisi juga memunculkan isu tentang gender, terutama tentang non-normativitas yang mendobrak batas stereotip gender. Pretty Little Liars 2010-2017 is a television series that tells the story about four teenage girls who struggle against forms of torture and bullying from a mysterious figure called ldquo;A rdquo;. Even though the show mainly focuses on the mystery and drama, the television series also brings out the issue about gender, especially about non-normativity that breaks the boundary of gender stereotype. However, despite of its exemplary, the male characters who are closely related to the girls abuse their power for their personal gain through manipulation, which is a psychological abuse contrary to physical abuse that frequently happens in the society. By using Harriet B. Braiker rsquo;s The Mechanic of Manipulation, this paper analyzes male characters in Pretty Little Liars and the use of manipulation control methods performed by male characters as abuse of power. "
