"Proses globalisasi yang saat ini sudah mulai berjalan merupakan tantangan berat bagi dunia usaha, sehingga menuntut setiap perusahaan untuk melakukan suatu peningkatan di semua sektor kegiatan. Salah satu aspek yang harus diperhatikan dalam pencapaian tujuan tersebut yaitu aspek distribusi. Dalam sistem distribusi, transportasi merupakan salah satu aktivitas yang mempengaruhi kepuasaan pelanggan dan biaya distribusi. Transportasi menghasilkan biaya tertinggi dalam sistem distribusi, sehingga berbagai usaha optimasi kinerja distribusi perlu dilakukan melalui pengoptimalan titik pendistribusiaanya agar memberikan biaya distribusi yang paling minimal.
Pertamina memiliki wilayah distribusi yang luas, sehingga Pertamina dituntut untuk menyediakan sarana yang memadai supaya dapat melakukan pengiriman dengan selalu memperhatikan masalah waktu, kualitas dan kuantitas, sehingga pada akhimya konsumen merasa puas terhadap pelayanan yang diberikan. Pada penelitian ini, tujuan yang ingin dicapai adalah untuk memperoleh jadwal dan rute distribusi yang memberikan biaya distribusi yang paling minimal, sehingga pemborosan sumber daya dapat dihindari. Pembuatan rute ini merupakan suatu permasalahan vehicle routing problem (VRP) yang dapat diselesaikan dengan menggunakan savings method dan dibantu dengan penggunaan software ROUTER sebagai alat penyelesaiannya.
Dari hasil penyelesaian dengan saving method, diperoleh rute pengiriman yang kemudian selanjutnya dibuat jadwal pengiriman dan operator selama satu bulan. Dengan rute pengiriman yang baru maka akan dihasilkan total jarak tempuh dan total biaya transportasi yang lebih rendah daripada sistem pengiriman yang selama ini dilakukan.

Today process globalization had become a big challenge in the business world, therefore every company have to improve in all sector of activity. One aspect, which has to concern in achieving company?s objectives, is distribution aspect. Transportation as one of activity in distribution system has influences customer satisfaction and distribution cost. In distribution system, transportation has result the highest cost, therefore all distribution perform optimize effort should be done through optimizing distribution point, that could give the most minimum distribution cost.
Pertamina has a broad distribution area, which can force Pertamina to provide appropriate facility. One of Pertamina main problem in term of achieving customer satisfaction is about delivery that has concern with time, quantity and quality. The objective of this research is to meet optimum schedule and distribution route that can give minimum distribution cost and deflect any wasting. This problem is one of the Vehicle Routing Problem (VRP), which can be solved by saving method and ROUTER software as a tool.
By using saving method, we can get new delivery route and furthermore using it to make delivery schedule and operators. The new delivery route can result lower total distance and minimum transportation cost rather than old delivery system.

"Studi ini meneliti strategi keberlanjutan bisnis (business sustainability strategy), yaitu strategi yang mengintegrasikan dimensi ekonomi, sosial dan lingkungan di perusahaan hulu migas di Indonesia. Kegiatan di industri minyak dan gas mencakup eksplorasi dan produksi yang berdampak langsung terhadap lingkungan dan masyarakat sekitar. Dengan demikian, perusahaan terkait perlu memasukkan konsep keberlanjutan dalam merumuskan strategi mereka. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode SEM PLS yang melibatkan 124 responden dari 72 KKKS (Kontraktor Kontrak Kerja Sama). Pengujian hipotesis menjelaskan bahwa sumber daya internal (internal resources) dan orientasi CSR (CSR orientation) berpengaruh positif terhadap strategi keberlanjutan bisnis, akan tetapi tekanan pemangku kepentingan (perceived stakeholder pressure) tidak menunjukkan hubungan signifikan terhadap strategi keberlanjutan usaha. Temuan juga menunjukkan bahwa strategi keberlanjutan bisnis secara positif mempengaruhi perlindungan lingkungan (environmental protection), kohesi sosial (social cohesion) dan kinerja keberlanjutan bisnis (business sustainability performance). Akan tetapi hasil penelitian tidak menunjukkan dampak signifikan antara perlindungan lingkungan dan kinerja keberlanjutan bisnis. Hal ini mungkin disebabkan oleh persepsi bahwa perlindungan lingkungan tidak secara langsung dapat memberikan dampak pada segi finansial. Penelitian juga menjelaskan pentingnya kohesi sosial serta kerja sama pada rantai usaha dalam mencapai kinerja keberlanjutan bisnis.

This study investigates business sustainability strategy, i.e. strategy that integrates economic, social and environmental dimensions (ESE), in upstream oil and gas companies in Indonesia. Activities in upstream oil and gas industry include exploration and production that directly impact natural environment and local community. Thus, these companies are required to incorporate ESE in formulating their strategy. The study uses SEM PLS method involving 124 respondents from 72 production sharing contract (PSC) contractors in. The findings explicate that internal resources and CSR orientation positively influence business sustainability strategy, while perceived stakeholder pressure does not. The results also suggest that business sustainability strategy positively affects environmental protection, social cohesion and business sustainability performance. The findings, however, do not show significant direct impact between environmental protection and business sustainability performance. This may be caused by perception that environmental protection is not directly beneficial for the bottom line. Lastly, the study explains the importance of social cohesion as well as cooperation in supply chains in seeking business sustainability performance."

"The competitiveness level among the companies tend to be higher, particularly since the adoption of several regional free trade areas such as Asean Free Trade Area (AFTA). Almost all the companies will face various impacts, both of negative and positive impacts.
Kitchenware industry is one of the fastest growing industries in Indonesia. This occurred since Indonesia was the fourth densely populated country. Kitchenware industry is a potential business, referring to market, because of the number of house holds. Data released by the Statistic Agency shows that there are 2.248.388 house holds around Jakarta in 2000 with annual growth rate 2,68% approximately.
PT Batin Eka Perkasa (PT BEP) is a company in the kitchenware industry. Since was set up 14 years ago, now it has 24 branches around Indonesia.PT BEP offering two kind of payments, cash and credit.
In a competitive industry, a company should prepare itself to face the potential attacks by competitors. PT BEP undertakes preparation by enhancing strategic formulation in order to match precisely to its vision, mission, goals, and objectives.
The data used in this research include both primary and secondary data. The primary data was collected by in-depth interview with 24 purposive respondents, while secondary data was collected by literary study such as journals, articles, news papers and other publication.
The data collected is discussed in a forum group discussion (FGD) by selected members from the respondents which have the same interests. This group will determine the priority of each factor of strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats, value the factors and give priority score of the urgency of these factors.
The model analysis used in this paper were Porter's environmental industry analysis such as Porter's five forces, key success factors and SWOT analysis.
By observing threats, opportunities, weaknesses, and strengths, the results of this research are:
1. The external opportunities of PT BEP are Indonesian economy 2003-2006 are prospective to support kitchenware industries; the large numbers of households; the adoption of AFTA will cut costs, the increase of materials suppliers, and the developing of information technology.
2. The external threats faced by PT BEP are the adoption of AFTA will let the new entrants come into the industry, the government policy to increase fuel prices, unstable political environment, the fast growing of new technology in kitchenware industry.
3. The internal strengths of PT BEP are various item of products, many branches, the widely line of distribution, the ability to set up new branches, the large number of sales forces, well sale forces management, relatively lower prices and after sales services.
4. The internal weaknesses of PT BEP are the ordinary qualities, high product return, manual information system, inefficient logistics system, high employee turnover and high bad debt collection.
5. Based on SWOT interaction results, the best strategy of PT BEP in the tight of competition is Strengths-Threats (S7) strategy which comprise both strengths side and threats side.
This research recommended management of PT BEP to adopt ST strategy and make more research in implementing the strategy into company's policy.
