"ABSTRAKPenelitian ini membahas tentang negosiasi identitas yang dilakukan oleh musisi klasik di tengah gempuran budaya dominan dalam industri musik yakni musik populer. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan paradigma konstruktivisme kritis dan ditempuh melalui analisis resepsi khalayak dari Stuart Hall. Hasil penelitian menyatakan bahwa informan remaja yang berada pada posisi ldquo;pembacaan rdquo; negosiasi dan oposisi terhadap negosiasi identitas Isyana Sarasvati justru merupakan informan dari musisi klasik itu sendiri. Musik klasik sebagai budaya subordinat dalam penelitian ini pun pada arena tertentu menjadi musik yang dominan, sebaliknya musik populer juga pada arena tertentu menjadi musik subordinat. Sehingga, budaya dominan dan populer merupakan sesuatu yang relatif dan dapat saling bertukar tempat. Peneliti mengidentifikasi musisi seperti Isyana Sarasvati ini sebagai ldquo;musisi posmodern rdquo; di mana identitasnya cair, tidak tetap, parsial, dan terfragmen, serta bisa berada pada posisi dominan dan subordinat sekaligus.

ABSTRACTThis research is discussing about identity negotiation of classical musician in the middle of dominant culture in music industries, which refers to popular music omnipresence. The research is conducted by using qualitative methods with critical constructivism approach and is undergone by Stuart Hall rsquo s 1980 reception analysis. The results show that youth informants who are in negotiated and oppositional ldquo reading rdquo positions surprisingly come from classical musician themselves. Classical music, which in this paper belongs to subordinate culture, in certain arena becomes dominant culture, and vice versa. Hence, what is defined by dominant and subordinate culture are interchangeably and contextual. This research is identifying some kind of ldquo Isyana Sarasvati rdquo musician as a ldquo postmodern musician rdquo , which has fluid, flexible, partial, unsecured, and fractured identities, also possibly become dominant and subordinate as well."

"Istilah "gothic" telah ada sejak abad ke-4 setelah Masehi sebagai nama sebuah suku barbar di daerah Eropa Timur. Arti dari kata ?gothic? kemudian berkembang menjadi gaya arsitektur, aliran sastra, fashion dan genre musik seiring dengan perkembangan zaman. Kesemua aspek tersebut membentuk gothic sebagai budaya yang anti-mainstream. Perkembangan arti kata ?gothic? ini kemudian menimbulkan banyak representasi yang berbeda-beda dari setiap individu yang mengikuti budaya tersebut. Skripsi ini membahas representasi budaya gothic yang ditampilkan oleh grup musik gothic asal Jerman, Blutengel, melalui album mereka yang berjudul Monument.

The term "Gothic" has been around since 4th century A.D as the name of a tribe of the barbarian, that lived in Eastern Europe. The meaning of the word "gothic" was later developed into a style of architecture, literature genre, fashion and music genre along with the development of the times. All these aspects made gothic as an anti-mainstream culture. The development of the meaning of the word "gothic" later made many different representations from every individual that follows the culture. This thesis discusses about the representation of Gothic culture that displayed by a gothic music group from Germany, Blutengel, through their album entitled "Monument"."

"Studi ini membahas artikulasi identitas-identitas kultural di Provinsi Riau yang muncul sebagai tanggapan atas kepengaturan desentralisasi. Riau yang merupakan salah satu provinsi berpendapatan per kapita terbesar, adalah salah satu kisah sukses desentralisasi pascaSoeharto. Provinsi ini juga menjadi tempat tinggal bagi kelompok warga Melayu yang terbesar di Indonesia. Namun mereka bukanlah penduduk mayoritas di Provinsi Riau. Artikulasi identitas kultural didalami menggunakan kerangka pemikiran Stuart Hall, sedangkan kepengaturan governmentality dianalisis dengan kerangka konseptual Michel Foucault. Terjadi kontestasi antar berbagai identitas kultural yang diwarnai dengan relasi kekuasaan yang rumit antara aktor-aktor di Jakarta dan Riau.

This study discusses various articulations of cultural identities in Riau Province, which arise as responses to the governmentality of decentralization. Riau as one of the provinces with the largest income per capita, is a success story of post Soeharto decentralization. The province is also home to the largest Malay group in Indonesia. However, they are not the majority population in Riau. Articulation of cultural identity is explored from the perspective of Stuart Hall, while governmentality is analised using Michel Foucault rsquo s conceptual framework. There are contestations among diverse cultural identities colored by complex power relations between actors in Jakarta and Riau."

Maka untuk menyampaikan identitas tersebut bangunan menggunakan bahasa arsitektur tertentu yang dapat mengungkapkan ekspresi dan karakter yang diinginkan melalui pemakaian kata-kata atau kalimat berupa elemen-etemen dan unsur-unsur pembentuk bangunan yang dikombinasikan dengan metode dan gaga tertentu.Penulis mengkaji pemakaian bahasa arsitektur untuk mengungkapkan identitas pada bangunan bank, karena bank sangat membutuhkan identitas agar dikenal, terutama identitas bagi usahanya. Bangunan bank ini ingin memiliki karakter dengan kesan tertentu sehingga bangunan mempunyai ciri tersendiri yang berbeda dengan bangunan bank lainnya, dengan kata lain memiliki identitas pada bangunannya.Hasil kajian ini adalah agar kita dapat mengetahui katakata, kalimat, metode dan gaya yang dipakai sebagai identitas pada bangunan bank itu sehingga kits dapat menyimpulkan apakah bahasa yang digunakannya sudah mampu menjadi identitas bagi bangunan tersebut."

"ABSTRAKTesis ini menganalisis karya sastra drama yang berjudul OvertonesA karya AliceGerstenberg (1916) dengan menggunakan teori Feminis Psikoanalisa. Melaluidrama Overtones, Alice Gerstenberg menyoroti isu beban domestik perempuanpada awal abad 20 yang berat sehingga berdampak bagi kondisi psikis mereka;perempuan dikondisikan untuk tidak memiliki hak atas diri dan suaranya sendirisehingga mereka rentan terhadap keretakan diri. Hal tersebut diungkap melaluidua tokoh perempuan Harriet dan Margaret sebagai cultured woman; sebuah hasilkonstruksi diri patriarki yang harus tampil dengan sikap tidak murni sedangkansuara dan keinginan mereka yang murni, yang disebut sebagai primitive self, tidakdiizinkan untuk tampil ke permukaan. Melalui Feminis Psikoanalisa milik NancyChodorow terungkap bahwa masalah psikis perempuan yang berpotensimeretakkan diri perempuan telah dimulai sejak perempuan sejak masih kanak–kanak, bukan karena penis–envy melainkan dikarenakan adanya dominasipatriarki yang konstruktif terhadap diri perempuan. Hal ini menyebabkanperempuan tidak dapat mencapai identitas diri mereka sendiri dan malahmenghasilkan diri perempuan yang manipulatif serta obsesif .

ABSTRACTThis thesis analyzes a one – act drama entitled Overtones by Alice Gerstenberg(1916) using Feminist Psychoanalysis theory. Overtones by Alice Gerstenberghighlight the issue of women's domestic burden in the early 20th century thatmade women were vulnerable to the mental health issue. In this matter, womenwere conditioned not to have the right for their own voice even for their ownselves. This situation lead them to the splitting self and it was revealed by twofemale characters Harriet and Margaret as cultured woman – a self constractedby patriarchy – should appear without pure desire. Unlike the pure desire, whichis referred to primitive self, was not allowed to come out to the surface. NancyChodorow sees this problem through her theory, Feminist Psychoanalysis. Shediscovered that women psychic is vulnerable to such problem as it started sincethe younghood, not the penis – envy; women had experienced a sever constructiveself under the patriarchy domination. This problem stands as a major pointtoward the failure on women self identity achievement."
